    That extra shelf on the rear seems to help them load more without trash falling out as crushing! Thank you again, for helping me with my strange obsession!

    Just curious, a neighbour of mine put in things like this : car brakes, truck suspension part (heavy coil with metal bar thick) and I’ve seen him throw tires on rims. It’s the over head big bins though

    I think I’m going to sell my Maytag Neptunes after watching how easily the got compacted. Does not seem to,be a good washer and dryer set. Any suggestions on a better washer that can hold up in the back of the truck?

      Nothing yet has survived the back of this truck. I’ll keep you posted.

      You're forgetting that one of the design criteria for washing machines is not that they should resist being crushed by a compactor (neither are cars).
      If they were they'd be far too heavy to get in your home and too expensive to buy.
      Also, although it can look impressive, so does a human hand when crushing a drinks can, and we know that that is quite easy.

    Does Cali not have a recycle program for metal? Or at least scrappers? How about the yard waste? Seems like a lot of extra stuff going to an already space-limited landfill.

    • @abluto9240
      @abluto9240 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to agree with the comment about recycling. Surprised out in liberal, environmental CA they would accept these with normal trash instead of sending out a separate metals truck.

    • @sysandy2
      @sysandy2 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@abluto9240 Just because items are collected in bulk this way doesn't necessarily mean they are not recycled. Some loads are sorted out at the transfer stations for recycle.

    • @abluto9240
      @abluto9240 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sysandy2 Most collected items I have seen go straight to the landfill- transfer stations probably makes up a small percentage. In my city, we have a separate metals truck to come and collect bulk metal items for recycling such as washer/dryer/dishwasher/water heater, etc.
