That riff with harriets voice is so hypnotic you know when its good when you play it over and over how did she hit that high just pure alchemy of pop and sonic fragile beauty superb track loved the official video too with the opening flowers just so beautiful
She (the vocalist/Angel?) has the sublime ability to tap into the ethereal stuff that really lifts your soul and makes you float with happy ecstasy and emotion 👼🏽 perfectly accompanied by the guitarist and 90's alternative rock band! A timeless classic that still has the same ability to effect me as it did when I first heard it all those years ago!
I brought this single when I was on a first date with my first ever girlfriend in an independent record shop. It always makes me think of her when I hear this tune ❤
U have to be kidding..I always heard this song at Coles..and didn't know who it was..for years never had the presence of mind to ask ....so today I thought I'd search out to see if there was a Coles playlist on the internet..I searched than thought I'd try you tube...so I found this playlist of over 400 songs...I started down the list anything I didn't recognise I briefly listened to..to see if it was it...I got to the last song ""this one "" and it was it ..I wasn't going to listen to it...there U go
I have all 3 albums of The Sundays. Here in Brazil, they didn't release but I imported it. The Sundays have an important part of my life... Harriet forever.
As a parent of a young girl who for some reason felt the need to dye her beautiful blond hair blue, than purple, than black as she rejected who she was, this video is hard to watch. As a former teenager, i understand the need to invent oneself. But, since we're here to appreciate and share in our love for the Sundays, ask yourself: How is it that Harriet Wheeler seemed SO COMFORTABLE being who she was all the time? The same beautiful dark hair, the black dress, the necklace, just her whole vibe. She was so content with who she was. THAT is what i wanted for my daughter, not for her to be so unmoored as to feel the need to become a totally different person every few months. I see it as a sign thats she lost and unhappy, searching but not knowing what it is she really wants or needs, because shes so unsure of who she is. Like this video shows, she only seems to know shes running AWAY from something. Which is, who she WAS, or how she saw herself. As a parent who watched her grow, who gave her everything and thoufgt she was already awesome, it saddens me to now see her so adrift. Like to hear from teens, why are you so unhappy with who you are?
Thanks for playing this song from a group I've not heard. They sound similar to Cyndi Lauper..😎. I searched out the lyrics, feeling sad reading the song's title. I let myself get easily attached to people; for example I danced with some people at a local brew pub..one of the girls gave me a hat from the band. I think of her a lot. I feel happy and sad at the same time. Thanks again-I'm gonna go look for the movie you mentioned.☮️💟♾️ The movie's story ranks up there with Erich Segal's Love Story.. ..❤️🩹😢
They put out only three releases, and then went silent. Funny, their last was entitled "Static and Silence"....almost a premonition. Amazing band, especially if you like dream pop.
For sure! I remember back in the day, late 80s, early 90s, I'd listen to both the Twins and the Sundays. Elizabeth Fraser also had a soaring voice, which was more instrument than voice. More often than not, I hardly ever even knew what she was saying, only getting a word here or there, but I could put on a mix of 4 albums just from the Sundays and the Twins, and clean the apartment for hours!
@@TheRealThomasPaine1776 Agree with that! Particularly whilst smoking a nice 'J'! Elizabeth apparently made up a lot of the words which weren't actually words but were instead vocalizations that went with the music. I thought they may have been some sort of Gaelic as she was Scottish but that wasn't the case...

Harriet’s vocals from 2:37 are pure majesty.
Like ethereal angels calling down from the heavens :')

My life starts now. 12:41 am. Goodbye forever Aaron

That voice is a gift from God.
My God! Her voice sends shivers down my soul, reminding me that there is so much to live for and appreciate. Wow! Just heavenly.
Me too I really thought believed that I was the only one she was doing that to. Unbelievable magic.

Sensacional
Heard this song for the first time 2 days ago, it’s been playing repeatedly in my mind. I fell in love with her voice, it’s mesmerizing,
Dumb.
Welcome to the club
Check out the rest of their catalog; they are all bangers
I LOVE this!!
A beautiful song and I’d love them to write another album together
My favourite The Sundays Goodbye🖤
I urge all newcomers to The Sunday's music - check out all their albums - I love them soo much!!
Every single one is a gem... not a bad album in the small collection.
Sundays forever!!!

I was just remembering this song then stumbled on this looking for the best digital version.
This is the best so far ...and excellent video.
Thanks 🙏
