    Hi, can you cover the differences between the icopyx and the proxmark? What are the shortfalls of the icopyx? Would you say the icopyx is the best general tool for a beginner?

      My dilemma is that cheaper cards and fobs can not be made to emulate the original. That device (if it exists) would be the ultimate cloning tool to put the whole insulin it’s knees. 😎. But apparently, such a device does not exist. We still have to attack the software with developers langt that most of us don’t understand in the first place.😖🙄

      yes but then essentially that card becomes the branded card. If you want to write your own cards from scratch the algorithm that yale uses needs to be decoded. It could just be a number in an inital block but i dont have any need to do this

    Is this device able to copy an iclass card? I check on their website they say even xs version cannot copy iclass card. But my vendor says the Chinese language version(which is much cheaper) differs from English xs version in that Chinese version would remove iclass support.

      Not as far as I've seen the only protection I've observed is that they Keep a record in block 15 and 16 from memory of the last actuation of the card. So in the above video the genuine card would have stopped working the instant I used a copied card.

      i havent tried yet, to copy an ultralight card you would need the initial key that the reader would send or the card would need to be unlocked. If the card isnt encrypted or using a default key it should work fine.

    Hi Quentyn, really interesting video, I came across it whilst researching conexis RFID cards. I am wondering if you might know the answer to something I've just started looking at. I own one of these locks and just bought what I thought were fully compatible RFID tags. The lock simply refuses to register them though. If I were to clone an existing card, is there a way to edit the RFID information to then be able to use it as a new card rather than a clone card? I'm thinking that Yale must program some kind of ID the card recognises in their cards and that the lock is looking for this. Perhaps you have already worked this out?!

    • @QuentynTaylor
      @QuentynTaylor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes - i suspect that there is data in 2 blocks that has to match a pre-set computable value and this is how a card knows that its a genuine card from the offset.

    This may be an interesting tool for Americans, because they always run 30 years behind.
    But in Europe there's less and less cards that can be cloned.
    If you're a professional security advisor you don't need this tool to let a company know whether their system is secure. You know this based on the card type they use.
