I saw Pearl then X and I'm really glad I did, because I really enjoyed her character/performance in Pearl, not so much the movie itself, and HATED X. She is an insanely good actress. Also, I'd never heard her real voice before and holy shit.
i feel the same exact way. i really didnt like X, i thought it was really bad and i barely finished it. the accolades that it gets and also being related to Pearl, i feel like i missed something and might try to watch it again---perhaps i was in the wrong state of mind watching it the first time. But yeah, pearl is such a fantastic movie its hard for me to express how much i love it
I hated X, but after watching it 3 times.. I finally realized how brilliant it was. Anyone who doesn't like it I definitely recommend rewatching.

@spacekitt.n because X was supposed to look and feel like a 1970s movie and let me tell you, it looked exactly like Texas Chainsaw and almost every other 70s movie. He did a great job making a ruddy 70s movie- ba dialogue and all!
Me googling her and the first thing I read is that her long time partner is Shia LeBeouf somehow surprised me but also makes a lot of sense😅 I knew her name but never really put it to a face or put her roles together, I really enjoyed this video taking me through part of her career.

I forsee a bright, bright future for her. Oscars. Emmys. And think shes one who will do anything for a role. Shaving her head, weight loss or gain, and all the method things. For example. Not just that. Be it Stanislavski or Meisner. Point is. She has the skills to do just about anything and willing to go there.

I love ALL of the films I’ve seen her in. X, Pearl, Marrowbone, A Cure For Wellness….I love that she’s so fearless yet so sensitive. She synthesises so many astonishing influences and l think she has a very seventies feel to her. I find her very relatable and moving. Don’t know why people don’t like X, it was brilliantly crazy. She is just one of a kind actress that we all are falling in love with. When you talked about wanting to save her from the horrors of the world, I can relate, especially when I learned that she and Shea Beowulf, (her co-actor in her first film, Nymphomaniac 2, when she was 19 yo,) have been dating almost ever since 2012. That thought alone gives me a reason to want to hate on her husband. He could potentially ruin her carrier, or that's the vibe I get from him. But yes, Maxxine was shown for the first time here in Iceland Yesterday and I have to see it. Thank you for this channel. I have seen all your videos.

I was first introduced to Mia Goth in the remake of Suspiria and fell head over heals in love with as a horror actress that is extremely talented because she makes you feel like your really watching a real person going through some horrifying shite. A+ horror actress can't wait to see Maxxxine and can't wait to see what she does next. I'm a HUGE FAN.

I'm one who doesn't like him either. I can appreciate how contribution to film. I am a massive dogma95 fan. Harmony Korine is one of my favorite people. And without the movement maybe we'd not have Korine. Point is, Lars is just weird. I have an uneasy feeling about him as a person. And I can't bring myself to fully support anything he does. Again, he's a great director. But person. Pass. Ha.

Lars stretches boundaries too far, his movies are not horror, they are genuinely disturbing, I think he portrays depression the best out of all directors, and it's fcking haunting. but then it feels like in his movies, 90% of the woman's purpose is to have sex, want sex, look for sex, so there is that

She fascinates me. Like on the one hand, she's so legitimately eerie that sometimes just the sight of her onscreen makes my blood run cold. But she's also kind of insanely sexy? And she truly makes you feel what her characters are feeling, which I think is part of what makes her so scary. She's one of one for sure.

I hated X then watched Pearl and loved it. Didn't know they were related. Planning to see Maxxxine this weekend, so rewatched Pearl then X and it made a lot more sense and I actually enjoyed it.
Pearl was conceived and written during the making of X and produced immediately after. It wasn't planned that way.
Mia Goth wrote a lot of Pearl, which seems to be most people's favorite.
