Nice review. You make a great point when it comes to the chugging and chord progression compared to the more riff centric songs but I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing because it adds some diversity of sound to the overall feel of the album. I think sometimes people frown on power chords and chugs because of their lack of technicality but we have to remember that it's not always about being impressed, sometimes it's just about throwin down and feelin the bounce.

Hatriot released their new album this week as well with Cody Souza taking over vocals from his dad and sounding like Exodus next gen. Very cool album worth checking out if you love your thrash metal.
The last half of the album is killer. Songs 5-10 are rad with some brutal breakdowns. Can't believe I'm one of the few who think that. Subjectiveness I guess but was extremely happy with the later half.

this sound isn't really my scene, but the drums on the sample you picked were fucking BANANAS. those toms, and then it goes into this like, collapsing blastbeat over those gross syncopated like anti-chords. I respect that.

I loved the new thy art album 5/5 amazing vocals, drumming, riffs and breakdowns I think all there best songs are after the 4 singles which has been a change from there last albums, and personally I found a satisfying and interesting variation between the songs but to each and there own !

I only recently started getting into extreme metal. I hated Deathcore for ages until recently from getting into Black Metal and Death Metal. I love Behemoth and i definitely hear the influence and Thy Art is up there with Whitechapel for me.
I would give it 4 stars ( maybe 4,5 stars) I really like it - with Whitechapel they are the only two deathcore bands I listen to - I get it that it is deathcore and lot of people dont like it but they are catchy and brutal - it is very good music when you want to stop thinking about you - The song Human target was something that stayed in my mind forever and now the New Gods trying to do the same - I really enjoy it and really love the art and idea - I hope you guys at least give it a try even if it is not your cup of tea

If you want Deatchore listen to the Sanction album Brad recommend it's just what you expect of a more Old School Deathcore band, and it's only 23 minutes so you can listen to it while making Dinner. And Brad you subestimate my dislike of Hardcorw saying that it's impossible to not like All out War (I didn't like it) And good review for a fairly disappointing album.

I wonder if the subject matter of these songs were a conscious decision made by the band as a whole or just something the lyricist holds close to its heart. As far as the music is concern it did feel a bit tiring during a workout (personal opinion). Overall, this album is no too different from Dear Desolation. I agree with this verdict.
