These guys are definitely better than all those other couple sailors out there who love the social media life pretending to be free spirited sailors. Definitely the authenticity and ingenuity is apparent. Good luck folks and fair winds!!
Ahhh what inspirational words!! Thank you dearly 🤗. We truly love what we do and appreciate it greatly if people find it insightful. Thanks for watching !!
Such a great sailing channel! I especially liked the detailed footage of Petro dropping the anchor under sail with Frick encouraging you along! Thanks for teaching us so much. Lovely fellow SA ‘salt of the earth’ mense! 🤗
Of course, another of the 7! No other channel that I have seen has hit the Black Sea, so congrats! Do you have to stick to Turkish waters during this big C period? History, geography and sailing tips...quite a combo for us lurkers...
Fantastic Petro !! Well done girl!! You have such a beautiful boat, and that anchor system / location makes it seem pretty easy ! Hope you enjoyed your time there!
mooi man, bly om te sien julle is in die soweto see. ps woon al 12 jaar in zurich, was baie in turkey, side antalya en istanbul, het n skuitin zurichsee, maar het ok farlookers, a doublewalk hailgun to shoot shallowpigs in croatia and italy, nou is ek toe soos n klui oss se gat, die plastic pop het ek weg ge moer
Thanks for the great vids. When you swam in the Black Sea for the first time, did you notice it was much less salty than the Med? I have sailed in Russian, Ukrainian and Georgian waters. Such a shame COVID will restrict you ( Cannot wait for the next instalment )
Yes we did notice it straight away 😉. How awesome to have sailed there! We were soo wanting to sail to Russia, COVID surely changed a lot of things for everyone 😢
Another cogitation: about tenders. Most of skippers use an inflatable tender, 3 to 4 meters, and most of them got the same problems: UV resistance, puncture, seams, welding, collage, high price, and sometimes lightness in heavy weather. And regular control of pressure. Advantage is the possibility of disassembly for storage (inside boat or garage), but almost all of them stay whole on deck or on davit... My choice is an polyethylene rigid tender, like Whaly 370 or FunYak Secu 13... What is your opinion about that? Thanks!
Phillippe, good question and I handled many of those issues in my Technical discussion on dinghies video. If there are any other questions, please comment on that video and I will see what I can do to address them?
About your video from Juny 2018: did you eventually think about the possibility to replace one of the the two diesel engine by an electric engine Oceanvolt f.e. with some more batteries in place of one diesel tank. In case of no battery power, you have one diesel motor ready, and if it's a lot of sun, you save on diesel. If motors are not necessary, use the batteries for cooking some good cake... Thank you for all your wonderful videos!!
Phillippe, that is a great idea however, we were forced before to use both diesels through the night in heavy seas and crazy winds... If we lost one motor because of a flat battery...
@@SailingSisu Thanks for reply, Petro and Frick. You're right about one crazy night (not every night), but I think you have also on board a generator to supply enough electric power, and all these motors (diesel and electric) have quite the same reliability (if well maintened of course, like on wonderful Sisu!).
Phillippe, no we don't have a genset on board but one will need a serious big one to supply continuous power to a 13kW motor 😉 one crazy night, and that's the thing isn't it? You only need one night to understand why you shouldn't have electric motors and hopefully you don't realize it when it is installed 😅 anyway, I want an electric motor and it is for sure going that way, but not yet.
@@SailingSisu You're right: "not yet"; wait for better prices for motor (Oceanvolt actually three time the price of Yanmar), for efficiency genset f.e. Onan 15 kVa, for batteries LiFePo and for solar panels (it's going more performing with the time). I think it will be a very good option (one electric and one diesel) in a few years for propulsion of sailing catamaran 12 to 18 meters (less than 20 tons). Actually, this option (silence and no-pollution) is still too expensive. But petroleum is expensive too, and it become rarefier...

Hi guys, love the channel & have been following for a long time, I have noticed of late that the voice volume is getting hard to hear, you put the volume up then an add starts & you get blasted through the wall, just thought I should let you know.

Those thermal pools are on my bucket list. How awesome were they?
Hey Michy, they are truly worth the while, a extremely beautiful picture in real life. Thanks for watching
@@SailingSisu thank you! It looks so amazing I will definitely have to check it out!
Great video! Maybe we missed it but we were wondering how you set the anchor with just sails? Curious
Hi Lynda, it’s the momentum and weight of the boat that sets the anchor. You cannot back up on it 😅

Pahahaaaa!! Yes it came as a shock to o us too 🤣🤣🤣🤣. The dolphins were black tho. Love and miss you terribly 😢
You need to get yourself a wireless remote for your anchor control guys you will not look back
We do have one at the helm. Might look at a wireless hand piece though.
