Concarneau is a town in the Finistère department.
A former stronghold of Brittany, the walled city is an exceptional fortified site between the fishing and sailing ports. The cradle of Concarneau, it has survived the centuries sheltered by its ramparts, preserving a rich architectural heritage. Along the quays, the maritime identity is asserted: fish auction, shipyards, pontoons welcoming boats of all kinds, including racing yachts for the start of a transatlantic race. A town entirely turned towards the sea, nestled at the end of one of the most beautiful bays in Brittany, the beaches are accessible on foot by walking along the cornice. It is a privileged place for seaside, nautical and thalassotherapy activities.
Its location on the coast and its historical heritage have made it a leading Breton tourist destination.
