My son was an excellent Air Force ROTC Cadet in college, but was DQ'ed because of a damn peanut allergy. No special allowances. And yet we are bending over backwards to allow this. Incredible.

My husband retired out of Nellis Air Force Base. When we go to the bx or commissary, we are shocked by how out of shape and sloppy so many troops are. It’s an embarrassment.

If an enemy of America took over our military and wanted to do everything possible to destroy any sense of morale and team cohesiveness, ensuring that we are never again able to win another war, then this is exactly the kind of thing you would expect them to do.
If you look you'll see we haven't won a war since WWII. We didn't actually win that one we were just the last man standing because we had the manufacturing capability to out-produce all our enemies. Not anymore. After 18 months of sending ammo to Ukraine we're standing on the grinder with our pockets turned inside out. If we get in a real war where we we get our ammo from? China?

My husband became a type 1 diabetic at age 29 six months after returning from Iraq (where he had just re-enlisted). He has no family history and no genetic markers for diabetes, his pancreas just stopped producing insulin for some unknown, to us, reason. Despite having glowing reviews from his higher ups and doctors he was medically discharged due to his inability to deploy. During out processing the troop sitting next to him was being discharged for the same exact thing! Currently my husband works with another former military member who was also forced out due to becoming type 1 diabetic out of the blue. My husband can't even get a decent rating from the VA while these people have elective procedures on our dime! It is very maddening to say the least.
Anthrax vaccine? Do some research. He still may be able to get service connected. Could also be burn pits. Those have a ton of effects.
Probably a side effect from so many vaccinations.

I'm SOOO glad I'm retired from the Army. This silliness was filtering in as my career was winding down. It's VERY sad what our military is turning into. And now the Defense Department is wondering why recruitment is down.
Our military has been shameful for a while. Look at Iraqi freedom and all subsequent involvements. The US government systematically destabilizes regions of the world, collapses governments, installs dictators (we put Sadam in power and let him be a genocidal maniac until it effected our oil supply), create famines through sanctions, support tyrannical regimes (Saudi Arabia and its war in Yemen). What good has our military actually done in the last 30 years?

I’m in the process of enlisting into the Army. It’s what my family has done since this country was founded, fought alongside Washington ffs. This stuff is disgusting and dissuades me from continuing that process.

So, they can't pass the APFT and can't deploy.
They are exempt from the APFT and from deployment.
Their pay should be cut by 40% and only be allowed to serve one 4 year term.
They should only be allowed to re-enlist if they can pass the APFT and be fully deployable.
This undermines the readiness, morale, discipline, deployability, combat readiness and combat effectiveness of the Army and Military as a whole.
It also interferes with the safety of the Nation.

With a severe recruiting problem...how does creating a class of non-deployable, non-PT soldiers help? Surely the mission comes first? Combat Effectiveness is obviously not something the CoC thinks exists anymore.
They only work the pelvis and starve you to increase sex drive while shooting you up with every drug imaginable. They don't want soldiers, its all a sex experiment same as the higher education.

It is estimated that during the civil war alone, 500 to 1000 transmen who were born female served and some died valiantly as men. Shame on you for spitting on their service "

The army is its own creed and belief system. When you're serving you identify as a soldier, if you want to identify as something else then the military shouldn't be for you. You put your job and your team above your own self interest and identity. Pull your weight and stay in deployable shape, show some respect for yourself and your role.

Just to get started in basic 20 years ago we had to do at least 15 pushups and sit ups and do at the most 10 minutes per mile for the 2 mile run just to make sure they had something to build up when PT began in earnest during basic. No one wanted to go to the FTU (Fitness Training Units) or 'Fat, Tired, and Ugly' as we called it. The Army is going to fill lots of XXL body bags in the next big conflict before they realize what's truly important. You only get your name on a headstone-not what you 'identified' as. Complete rubbish training.
In the CF we had the Warrior program. You did not want to be a warrior.
Still trying to figure out how someone who had gender disphoria 15 years ago was chaptered out of the army, but today, they aren't? Who made that decision and why? Recruiting more of the trans has reduced the overall number of servicemembers wanting to join, so how did it help? You got a bunch of nondeployable soldiers, for what?

Done a couple of years in the French foreign legion, trained with US marines. (Mediterranean '88, French Guyane , early 90s) Good soldiers.. Not sure where this whole thing is going, seems the world has gone nuts.

Question from a retired Marine of 28 years, if these medications, psychological care, and surgeries are approved while in, does that equate to instant 100% disability? Remember, it is care provided for surgeries during active duty. We all know that transgender people require continuous medical maintenance. Something to think about or look into as we move forward.
Imagine how much sick call and days incapacitated by being medicated and in medical care, this is a liability and as much as hiring a disabled personnel in active duty, it reduces the effectiveness in a mission.
They are also the most psychologically unstable, so will soak up funds for life- long counselling.
