Greetings from North Wales! No complaints here about the weather because it just makes for an extended woolly jumper season. Your Fleur is perfect as a slipover. Crochet is on my “to learn” list. My hands naturally want 2 needles ☺️ Your dye garden is progressing nicely, too. Somehow, I missed your stall at Wonderwool…I was wearing your lovely 4 ply knitted up into a Stria cardigan, so soft and cozy. 💜 🤗
Thanks for a super 2nd podcast Helen, your dye garden is really coming on, lots of hard work but you'll get there and can't wait to see those amazing dye plants in there and eventually more of your lovely coloured yarns made from them. And a granny square top - that's inspired! Do show us all when it's finished. Looking forward to Nellie and Eve Part 3 🙂
Another delightful episode! You’ve made exciting progress in the garden! I’m learning a lot from you about dye plants! I’m so happy that I found you! You are inspiring me to revive my long neglected flower garden! Happy making and happy gardening to you! I love your fleur sweater! And it was fun to see your earlier finished works that you showed today . 💕🧶🧦 Happy day! Katie from Maine
Good morning from The Netherlands 🇳🇱. Just watched both your podcast and I really enjoyed them. Thank you so much, so inspiring. Have a lovely day 🌞🧶🧡🌸
Another beautiful podcast. Your dye garden is looking amazing! All those lovely plants are going to fill those plots! Fleur is looking gorgeous. In also sewing as I go or I know I’ll be left with piles of squares 🫣. Like your idea of making it a vest, more useful in the wardrobe I think. Look forward to your next episode 🤗
I have been so looking forward to your next episode & I was NOT disappointed ❤️ Thank you so much for sharing your makes, but also your Yarn Dye Garden! It is so fascinating to me that you will be using plant dyes & I look forward to seeing all the flowers too! I love the fleur as a vest & was picturing it as a cardigan too ... I think you'll have to make a 2nd one for Autumn in catdigan form 😍 ❤ Susannah, Perth, Australia 🦘
Thanks Susannah. I use plant dyes already, gathered from the hedgerows & the garden but it’ll be nice to have some more species to choose from. I think a cardigan is definitely on the list.
I came across a reference to you a while ago because of your knitting yarn. So pleased you're doing this podcast - gardening and knitting! Perfect! I'm hoping to learn lots from you and order some yarn on my next UK trip. Hugs from Crete!
Love your videos, just found you by chance on you tube .So interested in your dye garden .I used to hand plant dye on a very small scale and watching this video majes me want to return to plant dyeing .Can you recommend any plant dye books please or maybe sell a list printed of plants used and colours from each plant .Love the yarns in your shop too .Could the tops ,vests you knit and crochet be made using 4ply single strands instead held double to save on costs ? Xx
@@sylviahopwood9730 glad to hear you liked the podcast. There’s a lot of good books out there on plant dyeing, experimentation is always a good place to start too. The garments featured all just happened to be of a gauge that required either 4ply held double or a DK weight yarn…the amount of yarn needed is just the same though due to the meterage of each. I’ll be featuring garments that are just single strand in upcoming episodes (Dead Easy Sweater in episode 1 uses just 1 x skein of 4ply Shetland as an example) Hope that helps, many thanks ☺️
Brilliant! Love Fleur in your rust colour 🧶👀. Waiting to see how it looks in episode 3👏
Nearly finished it…just 8 motifs to make. Can’t wait to show you. Thanks for watching x

Great podcast glad I found you 🙂
Thank you Sue
The garden is very interesting, were you able to buy all of those dye plants at a garden centre? I love the crochet squares top, very summerery x
Hi, thanks for your comments, the plants bar the Yarrow were grown or purchased from a specialist nursery.
