Guys I'm a barber. That's not a classic fade. it's purposely faded in this way to achieve a skin to bulk look with a slight blend. Don't hate the fade, just hate the look. Great haircut, just not everyone's preferred style
Jese Ramirez I agree with you. It is a "look" or a "style" of its own. I liked the finished cut. It has versatility and will look good as it grows. The most important thing is that he liked it himself and was happy. What else can a barber ask for!
Jese Ramirez Just because you're a barber doesn't mean you're right. The fade wasn't done correctly. There's still a weight line and dark spots. The barber didn't detail it.
Jonathan It is interesting to read all the hate with regard to this video. Are you a barber? I am and I agreed with Jese's comment. There is nothing wrong with the haircut. It just doesn't fit into your definition of one. The first time I saw an undercut I thought WTF is that. I thought it was a poor excuse for a haircut. It was made popular because it was different. For me it was created by and for inexperienced stylists and barbers. The first time I had to cut one I groaned and moaned, but I have come to accept it. There is more to the haircut in this video than meets the eye. There is texture, weight and length that make it work in the end. I still think Jese is right, even if you have a different opinion.
Maxwell Smart Yes I am one! I love this hairstyle. I'm sporting it right now. It's also my favorite to cut. The bald fade going into that 3. They contrast very well but at the same time it's blended. You can still see some weight lines at the end. All that was needed was some detailing on the fade.
Maxwell Smart start the video from 3:50. On the left side of his head, There is a dark spot at the corner of his hairline (a bit of bulk). Then there is a weight line following the natural curve of his skull to the right of his left ear.

The haircut was done perfectly. If he wanted the fade to go from zero into 2 inch hair perfectly blended he would need a head double or triple in length lol. There's other haircuts out there aside from the typical TH-cam undercut. So much ignorance from "barbers" in the comment section

I prefer a low taper and as the blend goes up the hair is thicker and cut with a different number that’s my style but the fade is cool. If I got that fade I wouldn’t be mad I’ll just roll with it cuz it looks kinda cool

I had the exact same haircut in 2013. It really didn't work because the taper was too high and yours has the same problem. It looks good from some angles but others not so much.

It baffles me why men don't favour a bouffant hair-do like mine. I believe it projects grace, romance and elegance. Every morning I tease my hair into place using a sharpened clam shell, then I infuse it with dill, peppermint and rose hip oil.
