    Thank you for a great idea. I have the same issue of my ruler base hitting my side clamps even using a dowel to raise it up. Definitely going to try your way. I have a lot of Jamie Wallen's rulers which are fantastic to use. They have a handle on them which is better for my hands to use.

    Hey Adam sewfun thanks so much for sharing this, never thought about doing this but it’s a great idea I agree the clamps do get in the way❣️✂️🧵🪡💖💕❤️

    Love this idea. My clamps are new and hard to squeeze together. This will help my poor old hands. Thanks dear.

      Let me know how they work for you. Once they are clamped on my straps, I usually don't take them off.

    Just sewed up my straps. I was using a yard stick under each end to hold claps out of the way of my ruler plate. These straps are working like a charm. Thanks for the video!!!!

      I love the strips and I don't stitch anything without them now.

    Thanks for another awesome video, Adam! What I love most about your videos is I feel like you're speaking directly to me... like you would to a friend. Not some crazy formal setting, just sitting across from your table watching you stitch. Thanks again!

      Thanks Heather. That’s how I try to come off, just a friend and a chat. I’m just another person who love to long arm and I want people to know, if I can do it, so can they. It’s all about having fun and enjoying the process.

    What a fantastic idea! I'm new to longarm quilting because I inherited a machine but haven't had finished assembling it yet. I'm subscribing to your channel because think you'll have lots of helpful advice for whenever I get started.

    Thank you for this. I made them and used them successfully on a backing that was not wide enough to give clearance for my side clamps. Worked like a charm.

      Once I made mine, I never went back to clamping onto the backing.

    Adam, I am sew glad I found your channel. Lots of great tips learned. I’m definitely going to get some webbing and make these. Also...seriously love your thread sample series. It’s my go to when I’m changing thread to determine which is the best needle for the weight of the thread. I’ve pulled up and printed Superior’s guide, but for me, there’s just something about watching and hearing it explained that makes it click. Thank you!

    What do you have past the clamps? Webbing , or something else?

    • @adamsewfun.
      @adamsewfun.  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bungie from the frame to the clamp, then it's clamped onto a strip of webbing that is pined to the quilt backing.

    Great idea with the webbing! Is it cotton webbing?

    • @adamsewfun.
      @adamsewfun.  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine is cotton but only because that is all the shop had. I have made them for friends and theirs is poly. It really won't make a difference.

    Hi Adam, I see you are using snappers. How do you prevent hitting them with your ruler base?

    • @jadm222
      @jadm222 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t use the snappers anymore but if you have them you need to use them pointing up to not hit the base. I have a video loading red snappers burrito method that shows how I did it when I was using them.

    I use a lot of rulers and have a problem with my ruler base hitting the clamps too. I was wondering I’d you still do it this way?

    • @adamsewfun.
      @adamsewfun.  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I still use a side leader but I recently changed to some that use SewTites magnets. I have a video about those too.

    Could not see close enough or how the clamps were attached. Looks like a good idea though.

      @@ecoquilting7077 It's FanFaire Sampler. Little Foot Quilt Shop in Evans City, PA might still have kits for it. You can call and ask, we did a BOM with it.
