I made the mistake of asking my mom to get me a Sterling Ink Common Planner for Christmas so I'm definitely going to be doing last minute planning haha
I just ordered my first CP a few days ago, so I'm in the same boat. Not too worried, I did a brain dump to-do list in the back of my old planner to refer to at the start of the year and can fit things into the Google calendar as I go along the first week. Plus I've watched a few vids and mapped out some ideas for how I want my new planner to function, looking forward to it.
That front page with the whole year and tick boxes would be great for people who work a rotating shift, eg 6 days on then 2 days off so their days off move week by week. Or parental custody days. I use trackers like that to track birthdays, anniversaries and public holidays
Habit tracker: that mystery spread is for habit tracking. However Im a visual person and need my habit tracker on my weekly spread, otherwise I will forget about it.
I always love how simple you make planner setups! Btw, I splurged and got myself a Hobonichi Weeks for 2024, and I am absolutely LOVING it so far! I actually shrieked with joy when I saw that it was starting the week of Thanksgiving so that I could get used to it before the New Year actually starts. I absolutely love all of your videos and your energy is just so bubbly and uplifting. Thanks for all you do for us Rachelle! Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Great video! Love the difference between the yellow and blue stickies. I will say that monthly horizontal checkbox section in the front or even the vertical monthly could be great for habit tracking if someone is looking for ideas!
I’ve really been stressing out about my setup. I’m trying to remind myself that my planner can evolve, and it’ll probably be cool to see the evolution.
I’m sure you’ve shown it before but I’m very intrigued by the Take A Note. I calculated how wide the columns would be and I got around 5cm. That’s a lot more than the usable width of a Cousin week column, around 3cm. Much more comfortable to use for what you’re doing with a combo of time tracking and memory keeping. My main problem with the Hobo Cousin Avec this year was that I didn’t like writing notes/todos in the weekly layout because the columns are much narrower than what I was used to in my bullet journal. So starting in October I ended up just using daily pages to make weekly spreads. I only used the weekly if I had a busier day. I’m going to try recreating this in 2024 with a Leuchtturm bujo and the Hobo Weekly Supplement.
I have a hard time deciding on the planner size and layout 🎉😮. I don't have much to write on the daily planner, but i still want the daily pages, i also want the weeklies in my planner, but then the planner has to be bigger if i want to see the whole week. I can't decide!!!!! Could you please explain how ho chose the size and layout???
Thank you, Rachelle! This video sparked an idea for what I could use my A6 TAN for when I realized it was too small for my original idea - i’m making it my daily rapid log instead of on my weekly papertess pages 😉 thank, again, and Happy Christmas🎄
Tbh I actually do my spreads a week or a few days or even a day before the following month, that way I know what I want right before that month starts cuz if I preplan way long before I'm scared of any last minute changes.
I use the year at a glance pages to track when I use vacation and sick time from work with a running total. Also added the curbside recycling schedule that is every other week that I always loose track of lol.
hi rachelle! dude you are always putting out practical approaches and I am always surprised how simple it can be. thanks for another innovative idea! :) - krissy ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡
i used to track my sleep, mood and productivity level in the monthly and important events in the yearly,, maybe you can switch.. use the yearly as a tracker where you can see those important things on the course of a whole year. :)
Love the tips, will use some, but let me tell you how I went around for not having my next year planner all set yet. I decided to extend my 2023 and start my 2024 in March, just the way it was before the current calendar got established. Smartpants me, hahaha.
Thanks for sharing, this is awesome and super helpful for getting started! Also I happened to notice that it looks like we are birthday twins - I am also a January 12th baby! 😄
Duuude, I still don't HAVE my 2024 planner but have all the things to go into it ready to go. Silly USPS needs to deliver my Common Planner I bought in November the hour they became available. 🙃

You setting up your planner with over a week left in the year: "last-minute set up." Me: Oh, I can show you last-minute.
hold my coffee 😅🤣
😂 so good.
I set up mine in Feb? 😅
I don’t set up the complete planner, just the day and/or week I am currently in.
Seriously, I haven’t even bought my Leuchtturm for next year lol. I did buy my Hobo Weeks.

I’m so glad you like it!!! And thanks for the sweet words 🥹 happy holidays!!
My planner has been under the christmas tree for a couple of weeks now and I cant wait to get to planning as soon as I open it

I just unwrapped my first Hobonichi Weeks this morning, so this is perfect timing for me - bye family for the rest of the day!
I’ve really been stressing out about my setup. I’m trying to remind myself that my planner can evolve, and it’ll probably be cool to see the evolution.
It’s only paper. ❤
This is a great idea to use on my mini planner that will be carrying around, making sure I'm not missing any important things.
You can use that habit tracker in the beginning to track Number of hours of sleep, number of glasses of water you drink, or other things like that
I love the thumbnail! I actually bought a time timer and TAN planner partly because I saw them on your channel☺️☺️

Reassuring and encouraging. Thank you! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

Wow, Rachelle, thank you for another very important, helpful advice. Let start planning and it ok to have some blank - Thank you

it's really interesting to see your approach to planning!! hope everyone has a lovely Christmas ❤❤

I need you to do a video on preplanning!

I don’t even care about looking at a 2024 planner until after the holidays. ❤

🤚🏼 in the new year here! 😂
Have you tried the muji planner? It’s like the Weeks but bigger!

🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔
So the hobonichi cousin spring edition would be perfect for you.
That first part is a tracker! You can use it for your sleep tracking!
I haven’t finished the video. But what nail polish do you have on?
I use the front monthly 2-line tracker for my PTO and holidays. I just one line cause I don’t reference it regularly.
Thanks for sharing, this is awesome and super helpful for getting started! Also I happened to notice that it looks like we are birthday twins - I am also a January 12th baby! 😄
11:24 I would use it as a tracker. Whether its habit or social media related
I like that peach clock 🤭

Pretty sure the spread shown at 11:43 is for tracking and could be where you put your sleep tracker. ??
OMG - I looked up the mini take a note planner bc I really liked the weekly setup and it is $600! Surely it is available somewhere for cheaper?!! 😮
Conversion rates! That is in New Taiwan Dollars. It's about $35 USD.
@@emilyoliver9402 How do I make sure i’m paying $35 and not $600
That is not USD. But mind you you have to add more in the cart to get free shipping.
600 taiwanese dollars..
I’m still waiting for mine to get here 😂
Omg I'm so early? Hiii 🎉
any ideas for the yearly Index Pages
Like if you set up your planner on January 1st and the absolute earliest 😂
Wheres the daily planner
Video
You are so cute. 🤗
Is it to late to get a planner ?
