I will never use this advanced loom …. But I had a lot of fun learning about these features and just seeing how an AVL loom works! Thank you!

Thanks so much! I relate with you about carpel tunnel and weaving. This has me looking at AVL’s

That looks quite complicated, but it sure would make a big difference. I'd love to see it in person. Thanks for the tour :-)

I think it’s actually less complicated than traditional floor looms. At least to operate! My looms are definitely set up for production though. This would maybe be overkill for someone weaving for their own pleasure alone.

Selvage issues are very delicate with shuttle assist

I haven't had any selvage issues with my shuttle assist at all. I would be interested to hear what problems you have had with yours.

@@Rebecca.Robbins Honesty, it's the hand loaded bobbins that is the real issue, 9 out of 10. Selvage rollers go a long way to mitigate inconsistencies but shuttle assist has no hand, so specialty fill can produce a funky selvage. Also, the spring pulls my selvage in too much, making pick consistency a bit finicky. After years of struggling I found that hand casting is best for the fabrics I produce, so I didn't bother adding this to my new (to me) looms. AVL is so innovative, I don't weave on anything else anymore. But it's hard for this old dog to go with anything but a full frame PDL. Si consider the source. For all of the reasons you sited I agree that shuttle assist is an advantage. But after hundreds of thousands of yards, I like the results I get from sensitive fingers. Love what you're doing, by the way. Keep it up!

Convergence is not so much a trade show as a fiber arts convention. Highly recommended.

I'd like information on the green seat mat you have on your bench. I need something like that on my bench to keep me from slipping off! Interesting information. Both of these look like great enhancements. Love my AVL.!

It's just a foam floor mat that I had for my son when he was a toddler that we cut to fit. We used double sided tape to hold it in place.

What is the difference between the e-lift and the a-lift? is the e-lift just electronic so you don't need the air component? I mean i know you need the air for the shuttle assist but I was trying to figure out the difference and why you chose e-lift over a-lift.

You are correct, the e-lift is electronic and the a-lift is air lift. I chose e-lift because it’s faster. One of my looms came with the a-lift and I switched it out. It was just too slow for me.
