your a star teacher, i wish i had found you when i first started crocheting, i love the close up and the explanation of where to put your hook with close ups. I found this so very confusing when i first started. GREAT! A+++
+doreen watson-read I had a lot of trouble when I first started as well. I earned via TH-cam and there are a lot of unhelpful videos out there. I try my best to be as helpful as I can!
I was listening to a talk show while following along with you without the sound. Your visual demonstration was so clear I didn't need the sound. Big thumbs up.
You made that sooooooo simple!!! Thank you for making my first crochet project so easy!!! I am definitely subscribing!!! Love your detail!!! Thanks again!!!
Stitch Stitch Boom... your tutorial was wonderful..I have done the 3 strand headband, however I love your headband better. It was very simple but yet a more sophisticated look. Thank you for sharing!!!
TheLadySime I use to make the 3 stranded headbands also! But they slipped around a lot. These stay put really well. I love them. Thank you for watching!
I'm not a beginner, but I liked the pattern so I followed along. I used a dk weight yarn for mine and an F hook. It still turned out great. Your tutorial is a perfect beginner video. You explained and showed everything very well. This is a great video for newbies. Excellent job! Thank you!
Thank you for this post. I wanted something airy and light since its still very warm out. Made this one on a whim because I didn't think it would hold my hair. I LOVE IT... I will be making many more.
I learned the hard way about making your stitches loose, but I got one made. Thank you for the easy to follow instructions. Think I'll make another with beads at the junctions.
Just made this! It was easy enough, but I turned the wrong way at the last row so I have both the outside rows starting with the chain 4. Doesn't look too bad. I think I have to work on keeping my tension even because it's kind of bunched in some places. Please come up with more tutorials because I love your ideas!! I'm tackling the slippers next!
I just made myn and I hate slip sitching lol so I did sc and it turned out very cute it was way to big on me so I hade to sew the ties together to fit me better..
I have try to make this headband I have 151 chains marked my 40th chain on both sides and started the first row of mesh but my last chain 9 doesn't make it to the stitch marker I have 3 stitches leftover. What am I doing wrong?
first of all, your tutorials are perfect and i can't thank you enough for sharing! secondly, if i needed to make it smaller or bigger, what is the ratio, i guess you could say, for the mesh center to the handles? does that make sense? lol
Megan Sylvies You can easily adjust this pattern to as long/short of handles you want and as long or short a mesh center as well. Just remember you need a multiple of 10 for the mesh center. In this video I have 70 for the first row of the mesh section. If you want less just make sure its a multiple of 10. 9 chains and then the stitch. Hope that makes sense!!!
Awesome! Thank you so much! I had a lot of people asking me to sell a pattern for this and the slippers but I thought it would be more fun to make a video tutorial. And it was. And I'll be making more :)
Found this a little late and have been looking for a brick crochet pattern to make a shawl... can you just show a small swatch... would be really glad😀... really beautiful work by the way😍
hello, :) I love your hair-band, however, I have one I ask comes always only on 5 holes, however, you have 7 what do I make wrong???I make 150 chain stitches is right, nevertheless, or?
@@stitchstitchboom Hi may i ask how many stitches are the mesh part only? That way i can make handles differently or longer ... Thank so much for this tutorial!
Hi ther e xcellent teaching thank u vor the clarity & patience! I only see 12 videos? Plz make more if u cud, I learn visually, not able to follow many, I am subscribing to u and anticipating more!! I love to crochet, have u seen the barefoot sandals by Glama? No video though. ; ( God bless & thank u again!!
April Gutierrez Thank you so much for watching. I have more videos coming soon, it's just hard to do with work and other responsibilities. But I have a 3 day weekend coming up so I plan on filming 2 tutorials then!
LiteralKnightmare Hook size DOES matter. The smaller the hook the shorter the headband. You'd have to adjust it to make it longer. I used a 4mm to make this. The yarn matters too.
Great tutorial! I'm a beginner in crochet & this was easy for me even tho I had to take half of it out after realizing I had trebled to the Wrong Side, so, the whole headband was twisted lol!! Good thing about crochet... if you make a mistake, it IS correctable (even if it means starting all over again:) Thanks for sharing and I'll be sharing this one for sure! ~ one question... what kind of thread did you use? looks kind of like it may be cotton thread?
Crystal Thomas I really wouldn't know. You can probably shorten the mesh part. Remember, each handle is 40 stitches, each mesh square is 10. You'll need to figure out what will fit their head. shorten the mesh by 2 sections (so chains) and the handles by however many you decide.
I am not a beginner but I LOVE your tutorials!! As I sometimes do not have my laptop with me, do you by chance have this pattern, or any of your projects, in written form? Thanks again for great tutorials!1
Skyler Gomez You could use a J hook to make this. The headband will come out much bigger though. You could double the yarn and use a J for a thicker headband. You should probably invest in other size hooks. Regular aluminum hooks cost less than $2 each if you live here in the US. I have a large range of hook sizes so I've always got the size I need for any project.
Following along. Seems easy enough but you said 7 rectangles, I only have 6. I think my counting must have been off lol I;m worried there may be swearing in my near future lol Fingers crossed. :-D
I love your video so much, I made mine right away. I used thread instead. I think I will stick with worsted weight yarn. It turned out nice though,. Mesh Hairband by Stitch Stitch Boom. Check out her channel.
+sara khan Most beginners are ok with this tutorial, but I see how it can be a bit confusing for someone just starting out. You'll need to familiarize yourself with the few stitches that are being used first. I hope you're able to get it soon!

Bianca Krüger Hi there! The handles are 40 chains each. You make 7 sections in between. You may need to go over the video again and follow slowly.
@@stitchstitchboom Hi may i ask how many stitches are the mesh part only? That way i can make handles differently or longer ... Thank so much for this tutorial!

Does the size of the hook matter? Because, the largest I have at the moment is a 3mm.
LiteralKnightmare Hook size DOES matter. The smaller the hook the shorter the headband. You'd have to adjust it to make it longer. I used a 4mm to make this. The yarn matters too.
Thank you for the tutorial
Thank you for the comment!
Do you have a written pattern for this? This looks really great
Deb Thomas Yes! stitchstitchboom.wordpress.com/2015/12/31/free-pattern-mesh-headband/
Thank you!
This is a great tutorial. Thank you for making it! About how many of these can you get out of a roll.pf yarn?
Ashley Fodor Depends on how much yarn you have in the skein. I'm not really sure. They're super easy though. You could use your scraps to make them!
I just started crocheting a few days ago and this was actually the first thing I made. They are super easy and great for beginners. Thank you again.
I'm so glad you like it!
what could be used as a stitch marker? cause I don't have those little things you have
Safety pins, paper clip, almost anything would work. :)
Loved it
Made it 3
so cute... I made it and succeed
Absolutely!!!
wow ... wonderful ..
Thank you! They come in super handy when it gets hot out.
Just found your videos. Would love to make this for my 11year old daughter. Do you have any suggestions on how many chains I need to begin for her?

Alice G In this video i just used some 100% acrylic yarn. you can use any size 4 yarn and it should come out the same.

What kind of nose do I have to hold?
Thanks
Can't you make headband without crochet needle..?
Ahmed Kandloor You mean without sewing in the ends? You could tie them off and cut of the excess if you want.
Question is this head band for children or adults?
Joyce Morris Since it ties in the back it should work for everyone. I made one for my 6 year old neighbor and it fits her great.
Do you have written directions?
