I think i got it! And i was so happy it was on my 1st try: i was just going off knowing the seasonings i have and i don't claim this to be as good as on streets of beautiful Hong Kong, but it is a "pass" in my books!
This is so interesting! I love it when my first attempt turns out to be a success too - totally happened to me this weekend too! I bet this tastes so authentic and absolutely scrumptious! Great work my friend!
Thank you - I'm going to try it later. Too many recipes suggest boiling the tripe for hours, which I wasn't prepared to do. This is simple and I look forward to trying it out today.
i am fortunate to live close to 2 Asian markets, so i am able to buy everything i love.. I wish i could help you get this stuff, thank you for watching and commenting, everything!!
@@no_chefs_here3194 You are very welcome!! I enjoy watching your video a lot! 😍😍 I always order tripe at dim sum restaurant in China, but never try to make it at home! This video makes me drooling!! The Asian market near where I live is very small🥺I wish I can find it in somewhere in the future!😂
Just a follow up of this video😄I finally find tripe at one of the WalMart in the town and try this recipe! It was so great!! (except my mother-in-law refuse to try the tripe!🤨) I used instant pot to cook it and it turns out so tender at the end😆 Thanks again for sharing it
@@no_chefs_here3194 so I boiled it for an hour and then fried it. It was good, but I have some left and I will do this method tomorrow. I found my honeycomb tripe not as beautiful as some I see on line. Kind of fatty. Si that's why I boiled it.
in my country (Czech republic), tripe is base of our famous, loved, soup. Drstkova polevka - Tripe soupe. Your video is not really proffesional, but I like it very much. And I gave it a like. Eveyone, who does new (or old) things is a hero for me. Good job!!!
Probably it’s not authentic because we don’t put chicken powder to “lo” lol. We use the whole Szechuan pepper and star anise though instead of 5 spice powder. But I’m sure it also tastes very yummy 😋
ah!! thank you for the tip!! i was trying to recreate the flavor i could remember from a street stall in Wan Chai😀, i will try this next time for sure! i always have these ingredients you mentioned.
thank you!! but i am not against msg - the chemical composition of msg in powder is same as in nature: seaweed, tomatoes, vegetables etc; but thank you for the tip👍👍👍😁
Looks great! I grew up with this stuff and I can't describe how much I miss it! Maybe next time you could put the recipe or ingredients in the descriptions.
Love tripe!! I'm sure they taste great!!😋😋👌🤙🤙 I was thinking it was missing 2 or 3 star anise tho..( I would of also added some oyster sauce, white/ black pepper, bay leave, and a little bit of sesame oil)
The way your eyes roll back shows the satisfaction of this dish. ☺ impressive. 👏👏👏

You need to cook tripe for at least 2 hours or more to achieve tenderness. Not in half hour, still too tough, I been cooking tripe for over 25 years.
thanks, but this one really worked for me.
Wow 😋
replacing the five spice powder with star anise, bay leaves and cinnamon will bring this to another level
thank you!! this is a great recommendation!

thank you!! you are right, most times it takes hours, but it all depends on how thick it is and how texture you prefer! cook how you like it👍👍
Awwww I love beef tripe!! I hope i can buy it near where i live so that i can cook it at home like you🥺Great recipe!! It looks super delicious😋😋

Don’t worry about authenticity. If you like it then it is good.
thank you!!
Chicken powder is msg.. 3 tbsp is a bit too much I think.. you can also try making curry sauce with tripe, that would be mongkok style 😋

I swear I did not know the guy from Bastille can cook asian cuisine🤣🤣🤙🤙👌👌 you should play their hit songs in the background
Try boiling it with bicarbonated of soda that will help with smell and make extra tender
