- We went to the Japanese Wagyu Olympic Games in Kagoshima, Kyushu! These festivities are held every 5 years and are used to choose the best wagyu cattle from all over Japan, along with other stalls, learning experiences, and competitions.
At the Wagyu Olympic, we sampled various wagyu beef from all over Japan while also learning as much about wagyu as possible for Shiori’s Wagyu quiz, and to the winner - a prize!!

Nice to see Emma carrying a Kånken. It has almost the same color that my mom's first one had when it finally broke after ~30 years of use and abuse.
Kånken might seem indestructible but they're really high quality and durable.

Had some A5 Wagyu when I was in Thailand in October as part of a tasting menu, it was very good but you are right about only needing a small portion since its so rich.

I was sooo excited to see Micaela in this video! Hope to see her in future clips 💕 This was fun, I’d like to visit this event. It feels pretty similar to a county fair in the midwestern states, but just focused on the beef industry as opposed to general farming culture.

You have to admire the Wagya farmers. I could never put the love and care they do in an animal then send it off to the market. When I was about 10 we went to Colorado to visit my aunt. They raised rabbits for food and aunt Dorothy (scary woman) thought it was a good idea to have 10 year old me help her skin a rabbit after she had lopped off it's head. I cried the whole time and for the rest of the day and absolutely refused to eat the cooked rabbit.
And Emma is rocking the Fjällräven Kånken. Good taste in quality 👍

kagoshima black beef is my favorite wagyu! it's so good lol. i'm curious who is the winner of the olympics this year!
i've had kagoshima, kobe, matsusaka. so i just need to try omi and i've had the trifecta haha.
edit: looks like kagoshima basically swept it! congrats to them, their beef is so good. to all visitors, please try kagoshima black beef and kagoshima black pork on your stay!

Is the letter grade in wagyu grading useless to the end consumer if it's just about how much edible meat that can be produced from the whole cow? Does that mean a c5 cow will taste the same as an A5 graded wagyu if you cut off the excess fat around the edges?
Being in a wheelchair means I often to get to skip queues like those! One of the small ‘perks’ of being disabled (that said if I could trade skipping queues for being to able to stand and walk, I would in a heartbeat!)

I went to a place in Shinjuku near piss alley called Yakiniku Ikuta it was a life changing wagyu experience not had wagyu like it since staff were also amazing

But if a wagyu calf in Australia can be half crossbread, then their child would be even less wagyu genetically while their parents still being half titled as wagyu. It would be hard to know if its just really close to regular beef or closer to japanese wagyu and would be judged without knowing
