It is nice to see how your skills develop over time, but you have to be careful here! Welding isn´t as easy as it looks.
If you are making just some points/dots, you will NOT get the complete sturdiness from the welded joint. Please be carefull here, the steal doesn´t get hot enough to form a strong joint.
Furthermore to avoid possible cracks in the tile you could get 12-19mm plywood, and screw the wood to the crossbars (prevent bending wood), before laying down the tile (with interlayer).
Besides these hints you made a wonderful job! The table looks really beautiful, you can be proud of yourself!

if you live in the 80's skills meant not using any power tools now adays since power tools are cheaper any "JUAN" can make a high class furniture even though you do not have "Skill" all you need is know how to measure and the power tools will do the rest. Ang karpentero nung unang panahon lagari na manual,. katam, liha everything is manual the don't even used jigsaw there a copingsaw (manual again) :D but you need talent and skill to make a simple "Squalidong" cabinet

With "skills" I mean that she takes bigger projects now then 3-5 years ago.. And going from wood to metal is a big step. I wanted to congratulate her before giving advice on how to get better in the future.
I'm a car mechanic, nowadays you do much more electrical diagnosis then adjusting some motor components "like in the 80s"! So what, you want to say that I am not skilled enough than the guys 40 years ago? How about you get some old crak to do a diagnosis that I do on a daily basis with like 20 ECU's and I gonna do some basic shit like *hear engine noises*, *get some oil in this/that spot*...
Well I'm doing both!
