You need HR aluminum yoke & diff case along with the heli pinion &ring gear. All that plastic under the bulk head are definitely not up to that task sorry to say. At those speeds you don't need a full 4 wheel lockup, although it will make for some great video! We can do without, just success!!!

Would this motor and esc upgrade still be a good choice if running off road? New to the extent hobby and the Kv confuses me a little
I do know people that have put this system in the 3s cars for bashing, does make it very powerfull. Kv is just a way to measure the motors power, take the kv and multiply by the volts and that will tell you the RPM is will pull, so a 2200kv motor on 6s x 25.2v ( being6x4.2v) would have an RPM of 55,440rpm.
The lower the Kv the more torque.
The bigger the car the lower the Kv shoould be really
@@HardcoreRC ah amazing thanks for that great explanation thinking of going down that route as I think I’m weight in saying that if I fitted that combo I could still run it at 3 and 4s if I wanted ? Thanks for your help much appreciate
@@HardcoreRC also quick question pinion gears are the centre holes the same size ? So if I did the upgrade would I still be buying the 0.8 mod pinions ? Cheers
@@jmpdrpaintlessdentremovalj9959 as long as you got mod 0.8 with a 5mm hole then use you would still use the mod 0.8 pinions
@@jmpdrpaintlessdentremovalj9959 You could still run it 3s or 4s yes, but bear in mind that it will be running less rpm as its a lower kv than the stock motor
What size spur and pinion?
That's a good question as was a couple of year ago now, im sure i say what we used in the end in one of the vidoes we did for the car. easier now as you get get 3rd part spools from places like hotracing rather than having to make it
You need HR aluminum yoke & diff case along with the heli pinion &ring gear. All that plastic under the bulk head are definitely not up to that task sorry to say. At those speeds you don't need a full 4 wheel lockup, although it will make for some great video! We can do without, just success!!!
Thanks - have my eye on the Arrma metal gears - easier to get and cheaper for us in the UK as well, but will keep going and see what happens first, my biggest concern is the plastic center drive shaft.
4 wheel lockup would be some epic footage 😂
@@HardcoreRC No problem! that center shaft? The HR yokes help keep your gears( unnecessary wear!)aligned much better than the plastic poopoo💩💩! Their are companies that make and sell aluminum rods. With different inner shapes! Just finding will be fun. I will see what can be found. I'd like to do the same with my outcast 4s. Just put the max 8 w/stock 2400 and new bearings. V3 Long wheel base chassis and bulkhead s coming soon.
@@rcjunkie260 Yeah the plastic gears are a concern, but as we don't really use this car i don't want to spend a load if it can be helped, but then once i set myself a target i also don't like to give up.
Outcast is a good stating point, and witht he long wheel base chassis will handle much better
@@HardcoreRC the power difference from stock esc to the max 8 is big. I'm glad I didn't waste money on the 2200kv combo
Stock 2400kv is fine. Money spent adds up too quick in this hobby! Long wheelbase frame and new bulkheads/shock tower soon. My fans made it to to the U.S Friday.
@@rcjunkie260 Yes the Max8 is a big step up in power. Whenever i order stuff it always seem to come out to over £100 even if i only really need a £10 part 😂
Can I use a 2100 kv motor to get close to 100mph
You will likely struggle to get to 100mph on the 2100kv, unless you change the body to a more streamline one, you will deffo need a Max6 in any event, found the Max8 would cut out
@@HardcoreRC thanks for the info ..are the 2100kv Motors are good for speed runs
@@rccorcoles7082 Depends on the car and the number of cells being used really
@@HardcoreRC I have a Orion 2100kv with a 120a esc in a 2wd slash but it's 2 slow
Nice runs, you will probably struggle to get to 100mph with that motor though, might have to try a higher KV.
Thanks, i did think that as well and though i might need to get the 2600kv motor, but then i saw something else that allowed a far higher gear ratio for this motor 😎
Sooo no link for the motor mount?
Apologies - video was supposed to go live Sunday night - hadn't finished putting it all together - added in comments now and here is the link: customrcupgrades.com/product/arrma-3s-and-4s-motor-mount/
@@HardcoreRC thank you! Great video as always
You think it practical for us order parts or shipping going be ridiculous, do you guys order from USA 🇺🇸 🤔
@@whistlinlipo Thanks and your welcome, sorry again for the missing link, Callum messaged me and said is the video supposed to be live - i was like no, oh well :)
@@paulclancy2404 Best to reach out and ask Lee at Custom RC Upgrades, i know he ships to the USA quite often.
The other option you have is that M2C have just released a motor mount for the 3s cars
You will have to either strap the tires or get some belted tires. Hot racing diff gears and metal spur gear. 20 tooth pinion should get 100mph on 4 or 6s.
Yep I think be ok with stock diffs though , I think he did metal spur
Yes stock diffs, i may need to go to the metal ones, we shall see. Correct on metal spur currently, but that will likely come out for something else in stage 3 or 4 = cant say to much 😂
Got some Hoons for stage two. Metal spur currently, but with the smaller hoons its unlikely i can gear enough to get to 100mph, so have another plan
@@HardcoreRC oh sorry I didn't read your response yet definitely hoons you know what your doing 😉
@@HardcoreRC i wonder if you dremel motor mount to fit a bigger pinions, I just did that with mini t, hmm you need Taller wheels that aren't too heavy , maybe unglue stock wheels gorilla tape insides well oh what if we sprayed expanding insulation foam, it would make wheel solid with out being heavy 🤔
I would put 17 mm hexes on it too for sure with 6s power going to the wheels
Me too I want to add to mine but once we start upgrading going takke away durability
17mm Hexes are coming - been waiting for the M2C ones to arrive. Needed to see how the motor and ESC behaved first though, need to do in stages to see how everything works together 👍
Nice , im going order then too , that max 8 system what I used in the exb kraton, crazy 😜
@@paulclancy2404 LOL - power is not going to be issue on this build that's for sure 😂
I say no way it gets to 100 mph. I’ll be interested to see that’s for sure
Hehe, watch this space 😂 its not going to be easy that's for sure, have a feeling 90mph is achievable - its that last 10mph that will be the challenge
I could use those stock parts haha sucker going be a beast
Thanks - pure beast :)
1st thoughts gents is its just gonna be too light....... interesting tho 🚀
That could be a problem - but i have a plan 😂😂
Might be worth testing without the wing incase the down force kicks in too much around 55ish
Thanks, wing hasnt been an issue yet, we been faster than 55 already 😎😎
Just made me think, someone else had an issue around that speed, up until then it was okish then started to get unstable.
As you say the Hoons will be more stable.
All the best with it, looking forward to the next step
@@Harvey600 55mph wasnt an issue, blown that speed out the water already 😎 but being as light as the car is it does get very very light - aero will be our biggest battle
that gearing guna have to be mad to hit a 100mph ....and to get 57 mph on big boy wheels that good ..i am at 48mph on 2s on 144001 on stock gears just waiting on a new tp motor to run lol
Yeah gearing is an issue, but hopefully have a plan for it, then aero will be an issue 😂 48mph on 2s for the 144001 is good 👍 what are you targeting ?
@@HardcoreRC i hope the plan works on the gearing ;) haha yeah aero always a problem on like monster tuck styles lol ...i want to get a big rock they look fun as hell to bash .....i aint sure on the 144001 speed i want hit 60mph inwitch will try in summer months its only 60amp hobbywing with 3900kv motor ( waiting on a new 2s 80c 2200mah overlander lipo for the 144001 .i am stuck on what to do i have max10 esc on way with the tp motor not sure to stick in the wltoys 124019 or the 144001 catch 22 lol
but overall i want hit 85mph in ethia the 144001 or 124019 on stock gears before going mod1

@@andyroo8uk685 Hope you hit your 85mph target as well, we are coming back into the good weather for speed runs - yay 👍
I hit 60mph on stock tires... they a hand full
Stock tires are crazy at high speeds that's for sure 😂 well done for hitting 60mph
Fallowing I want to join the 100mph club
Thank you - we hit 105mph with this project - now have it on 8s and just need to find somewhere to run it, should be good for at least 110mph
That curb clip it didnt break what
Nope didnt break, the 3s Arrma line up are the toughest trucks i have seen
Little Ripper
It sure it - mental little thing with this power 😂
Seems like aerodynamics are limiting you here. So much air is getting underneath and lifting it up at speed..
Yep, aero will be an issue, it was more the tires ballooning so bad it was hard to control, need to get it nice and low 👍
@@HardcoreRC I've seen someone use a front splitter that's 3d printed for an arrma kraton that hit 100mph
