A couple months after my daughter was born last year I decided to memorize this poem to sing as I rocked her to sleep. Singing this song still helps her calm down when she is having a hard time.

Gentlemen!! Wow!! As a professional metal singer, and vocal coach, I just gotta say....... ummmm..... I think the very bones just melted out of my body! * YOUR voices are the ones I've always heard, in my head, for all these many years, when I read about the dwarves singing in Moria. Outstanding!
I’ve wanted to say this for a long time, because I felt it, but I was able to formulate it only now: the voices blend so well because they seem to embrace everything. Bobby's voice is pure art, it's hard to believe that he can sound so academic and captivating, as if hugging you with velvet. Jonathan's voice is like the power of the nature's elements - it is something from thunder and wind, storm and crashing waves. and Colm’s voice for me personally is a man in all his feelings, from tenderness in love and laughter in joy to combat rage and deep sorrow. Dear God, I want to listen to you guys forever.
The lyrics, for anyone who wants a copy posted here: The world was young, the mountains green, No stain yet on the Moon was seen, No words were laid on stream or stone When Durin woke and walked alone. He named the nameless hills and dells; He drank from yet untasted wells; He stooped and looked in Mirrormere, And saw a crown of stars appear, As gems upon a silver thread, Above the shadows of his head. The world was fair, the mountains tall, In Elder Days before the fall Of mighty kings in Nargothrond And Gondolin, who now beyond The Western Seas have passed away: The world was fair in Durin's Day. A king he was on carven throne In many-pillared halls of stone With golden roof and silver floor, And runes of power upon the door. The light of sun and star and moon In shining lamps of crystal hewn Undimmed by cloud or shade of night There shone for ever fair and bright. There hammer on the anvil smote, There chisel clove, and graver wrote; There forged was blade, and bound was hilt; The delver mined, the mason built. There beryl, pearl, and opal pale, And metal wrought like fishes' mail, Buckler and corslet, axe and sword, And shining spears were laid in hoard. Unwearied then were Durin's folk; Beneath the mountains music woke: The harpers harped, the minstrels sang, And at the gates the trumpets rang. The world is grey, the mountains old, The forge's fire is ashen-cold; No harp is wrung, no hammer falls: The darkness dwells in Durin's halls; The shadow lies upon his tomb In Moria, in Khazad-dûm. But still the sunken stars appear In dark and windless Mirrormere; There lies his crown in water deep, Till Durin wakes again from sleep.

I know! Like when I listen to this song I mourn for an age that I never saw nor was apart of in a world that doesn’t exist, his world building is so incredible that he took into account that a civilization that fell would have songs about their golden age
Tolkien was a bigoted jackwagon. The songs from the movies weren't anything like the music he liked. If he hadn't had fever delusions in WW1, The Lord of the Rings wouldn't exist nor would any of his other great works. How about we living people love this and other songs from Colm. At least that way he gets paid.
I write now my first fantasy epos - and yes - it would move him to tears. There is nothing more beautiful for an author than to see his work outlive him and to inspire people to interpret it themselves.
His voice works so well for this type of music it really is a shame he spends all his time making terrible (imo) metal covers of songs that should never touch the metal genre.
@@TheUnseenHobo That is how he built that career he has. I prefer him singing his original songs but he never misses with his covers. He always does them justice or makes them better simply by virtue of his voice and production skills. Would I love for him to sing like this all the time? Absolutely. He has the voice of a thunder god and it's a joy to hear him like this. But I would never call what he does a waste of his time and I have yet to hear anything terrible from him.

He called it a SONG. The poem, yes, came out in 1954. Certainly one of my favourite songs from the Lord of the Rings. It is quite sad they did not include it in the movies, but this is certainly a most wonderful rendition of the song
I understand why most of the music didn't make it into the movies. . .but I'll always feel it was a missed oppertunity. The poetry of the music in the book is /really/ good.

Young sounds like he was actually there and is reliving the memory to impart knowledge to a group around a great fire.
Well done. Well done all!
It amazes me how seemlessly.videos recorded in seperate locations by different singers can be edited visually and have their audio mixed so well, just goes to show how talented people are.
J'adore !!!!
Genuinely one of the greatest pieces of music ever. I keep coming back to this, lilkely listened to it hundreds of times over the past month alone. As a LotR Fan and a huge fan of all 3 artists here... just a match made in Valinor
I dare say Tolkien would shed tears of pride and joy at seeing such a powerful and wonderful work of art
My beard grew 6 inches listening to thia
Music that unlocks magic within the soul.

Merci à l'algorithme de TH-cam de m'avoir fait découvrir ces voix incroyablement envoûtantes
I love how Bobby's voice gets more refined with every song he's in. You can hear the progress he's made. It's absolutely amazing to watch. Colm and Jonathan are incredible as always. Such a killer cover, lads.
I are old and demented. I remembered that this song evolved from a number of older songs but what I remembered was from 2012 which isn't old at all. 🤤 I like how he includes an undertone of throat singing which most people can't do.
You and Jonathan pairing up never disappoints. Your voices work so well together. This is my first time hearing Bobby and just wow!
Великолепные голоса. Один светится романтикой, другой опытом и надёжностью, а третий решительностью и солёным ветром.
У меня тестостероновые мурашки от этой вокальной глубины и мощи
The King!❤❤❤❤❤❤ Greting from Germany! I love it!🎉Wunderbar! 😊
Astoundingly beautiful! ♥❣❤🔥
no, you arn't just singing! Your faces pait iinto the air what the songs want to say. Goosebumps. I always fall for songs when they are sung to touch our ears, our sou and hearts and we see the song in the eyes of a singer. Thankyou
Talent? Britain's got talent? Please share with world. Too beautiful! Magical voices! Just absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
This gentleman is Irish.

I thought as much. What a delight to listen to.
Бесподобно. Шикарное исполнение.
THIS. Exactly THIS is the reason for internet in general and TH-cam in particular! I'm sorry, tenors and sopranos - but our bones can only be shaken in the core from the bass =D
And the the lord of hosts said unto them My blessings know no limits, and are beyond the measure of mortal man, there for make a joyful noise unto god! Well done Colin, well done!
Las voces más maravillosas que escuché, todas la voces de los hombres deberían ser así ❤
Vous me faites des frissons partout !!! Et j'adore ça !! Vos voies sont tellement !!!! Je ne sais pas quoi dire! Je vous aiment fort !!!,et plus !! A bientôt ❤😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Goosebumps gentlemen, pure goosebumps!
And to think that Gimli abruptly started on this song while traversing Moria as a solemn melodious comment on the fall of Khazad Dûm. Now *that* is how you do a musical. High School musical take a hike.
Marvelous. From Russia with love
Clamavis de Profundis version of this poem it's the best by far, and you guys did it justice. Those voices omg they are beyond this world
I can't stop listening to your trio. Thank you very much for such a performance.
Absolutely amazing, Colm, as always! Magnificent trio of singers, you should definitely do more with Jonathan and Bobby.
This sound of these men deep voices takes my Soul back to our ancient days and my eyes fill with tears for missing something only my Soul remembers but my physical body of this time feels the twinge of pain
This version especially catches the remembered Collective Unconscious of the warrior roots of humanity in its noble, inspiring form.
Was für eine einzigartige Stimme! 👌
As a bass, it brings me BOUNDLESS joy to get team-ups like these. You each have an instantly identifiable voice, the blends are sick, and the power is undeniable. WELL DONE 🔥🔥
voices of ages gone by
bass powerhouses with beautiful harmonies + perpetually gorgeous intrumentals?? always a winning combo. you all absolutely killed this cover
This is absolutely the best version of this I've heard! Sends chills every time I listen. I'm 74, and it makes me grieve for the America I grew up with. Thanks guys!
@4:28 Jonathan has such a strong and controlled voice that I wish he would post more of that on his youtube! Thanks to Colm we get to see another side of him
Hearing you perform this song touches me so deeply. thanks for that.
Certainly one of my favourite songs from the Lord of the Rings. It is quite sad they did not include it in the movies, but this is certainly a most wonderful rendition of the song
Clamavi de Profundis version is better
@@corberus3119Both are good.
I understand why most of the music didn't make it into the movies. . .but I'll always feel it was a missed oppertunity. The poetry of the music in the book is /really/ good.
Nether lands
@@corberus3119 they're talking about the song from the books
your saying that a vocal cover is better than the written word original?
I can't put into words the impression I got from this performance. I have been listening to it on loop since I discovered it, and I am impressed by each of the voices and their ensemble.
Congratulations and thank you very much! You have made me happy
I hope you can find more times that point of absolute genius that has animated you here.
A big hug from Spain
The vocal range you have is so damn amazing and the LOTR songs you do just leave me in awe.
Wow wow wow, I'm at a loss for words, so mesmerising, deep and moving!

GRACIAS CHICOS
My good sir. This... This was amazing! I feel like this was almost hearkening back to your older style of singing and I LOVE IT!!! I could only be imagining things but I loved this so much. Stay very handsome!
YOU stay handsome, friendo!
Glorioso!! 🌻
This gave me chills! Your Middle Earth songs are my personal favorites and bring greater magic to the astounding & magical civilizations that will always hold a dear place in my soul. You're the best Colm
Voces que emocionan, impactan, serenan e indecifrables. HERMOSAS. Saludos desde México
Beautiful cover of Clamavi's version. You lads should definitely do more of their stuff, or collab with them sometimes.
Дуже заворожує 😍👍
J'adore ces voix graves et profondes, comme les temps lointains et oubliés quand le wokisme ne s'imposait pas au monde avec ses voix de crécelle...
Púšťam si to stále dokola. Úžasný zážitok !!!
Their voices are in themselves musical instruments. Together--- Impressive!
This is *beautiful,* man! Thank you for sharing it!
Is it beautiful or what?! WOW!
I am so glad I found this video! I found Clamavi De Profundis years ago, but the channel only had two songs at that point. I was new to TH-cam and didn't know to subscribe or maybe it wasn't a feature back then, but I lost track of their channel. I bought the two songs they had and often played them until other songs took their place in the rotation. Just going by what I see, it looks like it was somewhere around a year before another song was posted, but I didn't know about it.
You guys redid this song so beautifully! It felt like the dwarves were singing at a great feast or something.
That deep male bass has just something really epic!
Awesome cover!
Thank you man!!! It is truly amazing. I really needed this one! A Clamavi de Profundis music with your voice...excellent.
Daaaamn!! 🫨🫨🫨🫨 holy crap that was freaking awesome 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 bravo guys! Bravo 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Song of Durin is one of my favorites! So glad to see you cover this fantastic fantasy song!
Colm's depth of range is deeper than I knew to be possible. Truly Divine
This version has a southern feeling vibe to it. It fits the theme so well because southern music makes things sound adventurous
man this is way better than it should be! props to these 3 for bringing the BASS!
