    MIUI enables 'force dark mode' for every installed app, by default. Disable that in 'Advanced dark mode settings' in 'Display'.

    • @ZeroEightTwenty
      @ZeroEightTwenty 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      True, and that's the reason behind the Spotify play button going completely white as seen in the video.

    • @arisandra
      @arisandra 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      This is the fix! Has an app that has a barcode that wouldn't be scannable if dark mode was turned off, so just turning off dark mode for the individual app fixes this

      Indeed thank you for that tip! I have simillar problem with PS App for playstation. It displays the white in app icons as completelly black. For some strange reason PS app is not listed in "Advanced dark mode settings". Do you happen to have any recomendations/help?

    I've had my Xiaomi Mi11 for almost 6months. This phone has been amazed, I haven't found a single fault about it. Don't get me wrong, it's a big phone but easy to live with. Battery life is amazing(55w charge) is god sent, easily go from 10% to 45 or even 50 in less than 30min, soo even if you're like me constantly on the phone, you won't even care about phone charging it, the sound is amazingly specially the vibrating back. Now the display on this phone is 🥵🥵🥵. I'm the type of person who likes to change phones and I've had soo many phones. This is by far best for for the price range and performance. No other phone has been able to put a big smile on my face. The fact that I'm even leaving a comment says a lot

    • @voteDC

      MIUI tends to apply Dark Mode to things it shouldn't but you can fix it with an ADB command. Launch the ADB Shell on your computer and use the command
      setprop debug.hwui.force_dark false
      This will make Dark Mode only apply to things it should. It will need to be done again if you reboot your phone though.

      @@bmhater1283 irl there’s not that much difference between them. 780 is the better option but hindered in some situations due to DDR4 ram compared to DDR5 on 778, but 780 is around 3% better at cpu tasks (minimal difference) but for games around 25% better. unless gaming is a priority the 778 is the better one for battery life.

    Very good long term review. I agree with you. Mi 11 main camera is perfect and has the best texture rank in dxomark(111). If you use the last 8.4 gcam released by BSG. The results are incredible. The display, design, processor and audio quality is perfect. The mi 11 main weaknesses are: 1. not IP waterproof rating 2. No telephoto camera. 3. The ultra wide cam is not good as the rivals .

    I got the phone about 6 months ago. The only complaint I have is the battery life. The battery will be degrading faster because of the more battery cycles you are required to do due to the short batter life. I am only getting about 4 hours screen on time with full charge with is disappointing, compared to my previous device Mate 20 Pro, which was going over 6 hours. I am heavy user, but still think they could of done better job with the battery pack. For example few of the Pocos like X3 Pro have about 50-60% longer screen times, which I can only see as a reason that the SD888 is using quite more energy than SD860. Investing in bigger battery would be great from Xiaomi. On other hand I'm now looking at Xiaomi 12 as possible replacement and don't see any reason to change the phone...

    I am traveling in South East Asia and decided for the first time to see how budget smartphones are. I think most of the lower priced phones are Chinese brands. Since I live in the US am not too familiar with the Chinese brands or they aren’t as conveniently available for purchase. The only concern is the longevity of these phones. Especially if you plan on hanging onto them for a few years. With Samsung now offering four full years of major OS update and maybe an additional year of security patches. If you add in the cost of buggy software or lack of OS or security updates, is it worth it? I heard that some OS updates for Xiaomi end up bricking the phones or maybe the phone only gets two years of support. So if you have to upgrade your phone every two years then wouldn’t Samsung or Google smartphone be a better value

    Great review. Only other thing I would add is that if you care about system updates and security patches Xiaomi are appalling (Global updates) and they are far and few between with no consistency. When there is an update it is minimal with largely only security patch. This goes for flagships, midrange and the lower range devices.

Half of my calls are with the screen on and then I need to move the phone away from my face and bring it close again. I have it on the Mi 11 UIltra as well.. It's the WORST proximity solution I have ever tried.

    I noticed that Mi11 oversaturates the actual colors of the photos you take if you view them in the gallery app. You can notice this when you take a photo and the color preview from when you are framing the photo becomes significantly more vivid after taking the picture or when you try to port your photo from gallery app to lets say Lightroom for editing. I wonder if this is how the app gallery should behave or not.

    Had to sold this phone. Snapdragon 888 heats a lot even on low graphics games and the cooling system on the Mi 11 is below-average. Software updates did help deal with the heating issue but it's still not enough. Altough this phone has excellent display, camera and stereo speaks.

    Angie looks beautiful as ever but the mi 11 is a worthy phone till now. I can recommend it to friends but I won't use it due to the software skin. I prefer stockish feel.

    No expandable memory slot 😔. Sad that one basic thing could be a total deal breaker for what I need from my phone

      Ironically, mostly low end and mid range devices have headphone jacks and expandable memory nowadays, only Sony and a few other high end phones have these features. Although you almost always seem to loose out on dual sim slot, I only seen low end phones with dual sim slot, expandable memory and headphone jack.

    I love my Mi11 but I really disappointed with the main camera. My sensor is stuck so it cannot find and focus really well. Had to knock my phone a bit to released the stucked sensor, really stupid isn't it? Its already the second replacement for the main sensor. Should I let go Mi11 and get Mi12?

    Happy New year everyone. I have a 11 Lite 5G NE and I like it a lot. Don't mind miui so much even though I prefer others. But! I have a huge issue with the WiFi that disconnects when not in reach of WiFi. That is fine of course, but it doesn't connect back up when I enter a pre configured WiFi spot. I have to connect manually. That's a huge bummer.. Any suggestions from you guys? Stay safe!

    protection glass which suppose to be victus shattered at the side (edge ) without falling or receiving any serious hit and i have cracks all over the screen now ( after only 2 months of acquiring it ) , it didn't effect the touch not screen but you have to replace the whole trio in order to fix that , and it cost around 250 $ .
    battery life is kindda bad , have to recharge the screen 2 times a day granted that you start the day with 100% battery , and am not a gamer .
