I have to lay off buying coins and bullion for awhile. I have some home maintenance and improvements that need to be done. Oh well, coin collecting will be there for me, and I can enjoy what I have for now. Thanks for the videos. Hope you're having a great day. Lou
I like Joe, just from the video I got a good vibe from him. When I noticed his Masonic ring, then I was certain he'd be a man who believes in dealing in a fair and square way with everyone. Good video Speg!
I have a lot of nice coins like CC Carson cities and Trade dollars and some other pretty nice stuff is a coin shop the best place to sell a nice collection or is there nothing that you could get a better price!? I have a lot of gold but I think that would fall in the same category right? Just wondering. Thanks for your input!
Depends. You could likely make more selling them individually at auctions or shows, as long as you know what you have, want to take the time to list them all and photograph and calculate shipping/commission into the price. You could even sell the entire collection at once at auction....but again, you've gotta know what you have (don't wanna sell yourself short!) and take time to write descriptions and photograph everything. But if you just want to dump the lot, shops are a quicker easier way to do it all at once. Same rule applies though, gotta know what you have. You've gotta be a little more flexible with prices at shops if you're selling, they need to make money too. Big thing with shops is you HAVE to trust the shop not to screw you over. If you've got a good relationship and know you can trust them then your good as gold (pun intended)... But not all shops are the same of course. Sounds like you've got some awesome stuff, hope you find more and get a good price if you're selling!
@RealLifeFinance this is why I only sell fake coins online, they scam me by returning a lower grade coin I win and if they send me back a fake I just put it back into inventory. Win win. Just in case: I'm kidding. Haven't sold anything online, but I've heard horror stories like you just described. This is excellent advice! Gotta protect yourself when you don't know who's buying from you. Return/charge back scams are at an all time high right now. People are desperate and food>morals for a lot of folks.
@@TrevorsMailbox Thanks I do have a lot of good stuff mostly gold pre 33. I will never sell unless I really run into trouble! Most of my gold I bought back in the 2000s and only paid about 600 to 700 hundred an oz so I love the way gold is going up!
Those chunky coins are 1809 Ceylon 96 Stivers, Ceylon today is Sri-Lanka. Hey Speg you should weigh those Stivers, they could be contemporary forgeries, the real ones weigh in at 18.14 grams and have a measurement of 23mm, if they weigh less; say 10.48grams then they are forgeries, but made of silver, you should make a video testing and measuring them, I think that will make a good video.
Nice video, I noticed the Masonic Ring and wonder if Joe is "On the Square". he sounds like he has honesty and integrity. All the Best from a UK Master Mason. 🙂
Bourse: a sale of numismatic or philatelic items on tables (as at a convention) Basically where you buy sell and trade coins, whether that's a coin shop or coin show.
Honesty and integrity! We need lots more people like Joe. Great job and video guys.

Good video Speg!
I always wonder what my collection sold for. Had a 1876-CC Trade Dollar AU 50. Did I mention it walked away. CAREFUL who you trust.
Bummer! Buummer! II hate that!
Thank's for the Pledge of Allegiance! More people should be so thoughtful!
Hello sr twaskyou for all information.

At 8min mark what are those 200yr old elephant coins?
Some kind of weights that were used for weighing either metals or pharmaceuticals. They're pretty cool.
That's a huge
Masonic ring he's sporting.
Bean Town is very fair. Great guy to deal with. Unlike some coin guys in Florida. Cool shift here...

@@TrevorsMailbox Be careful selling online, the scams of swapping out your coins for look alikes at much lower grade or even fakes is prevalent.
