I disagree. I believe there’s an area between a $700-$1000 MTW and a $150-300 hpa tapped gbb pistol. Especially when there’s options like this brand new $250 engine. I feel like the barrier to entry has been lowered and now is a great time for people who only have a budget of like $500 max, and want to build a gun themselves, to get into hpa. I do appreciate your opinion though, and I would personally LOVE to get me one of those new Daniel Defense EMG Mk18 MTW’s they just released 😍🤤 and I might, next time I have a grand to go towards a gun 🤘
Update: I got one! And I love it. The trigger adjustment is a bitch but the accuracy out the box is insane. Not convinced I couldn’t get the same results with a less expensive home build though. But It definitely fucks lol
No, sadly. I wish they allowed hpa at tac. But luckily there’s a really fun field about 25mins away from tac that allows hpa. CQB Fight Club, check it out 🤙
@@killonsightairsoft what is they're logic though? Maybe there is a way to achieve their goals and allow HPA. My guess is there have some bad actors dial up their rigs after Chrono or maybe high rps. Can solve both problems and related with various means. In the end, it's a business decision for the owner. Gotta keep that in mind when you discuss it with them. HPA is clearly a privilege not a right on this field which is as is should be. The field holds the liability after all.
@@neogeo8267 i have personally tried to reason with the field ownership and it falls on deaf ears, they wont even allowed hpa tapped shotguns or gbb pistols and rifles, i prefer other fields but this is the only indoor field within a 3 hour radius from me
Damn $250 just for the basic part is a "budget" build? Seems like a $20 part. I'm having trouble seeing why it could be worth so much money. I doubt it costs even a fraction of that to manufacture.
believe it or not, HPA engines are rather complex and take a lot of R&D to produce, and the manufacturing processes required to make one are also very expensive
I mean really the key thing is that it’s a budget HPA build, not a general budget airsoft build, cause the phoenix is the cheapest non single for only HPA engine out there right now.
Part of the reason why is most other HPA engines are extremely expensive. Like, sometimes upwards of double the price of this unit. Other engines at this price point are entirely mechanical. This product is a breath of life into HPA with how (relatively) cheap it is. Another huge reason is R&D and development. In this case, this was made by one dude who designed his own electronics, wrote his own code, and had to spend what I can imagine is a very high amount of money on r&d with testing every single gearbox manufacturer on the market to ensure there are no fitment problems. Then of course the actual manufacturing isn't always cheap, HPA requires having good and strong air seals which therefore require tighter dimensions. Tighter dimensions = expensive equipment = higher cost. And think, this all had to happen with each prototype. Of course, on paper, the cost to manufacture the engines now that it's down to a science is reduced, as any technology advances it inherently becomes cheaper to make. I can understand a viewpoint that these are crazy expensive for what they are, but in relativity to everything else on the market this engine is an absolute steal for its price.
