    Mine has molted twice now. He disappeared for about a month both times then appears again cruising around the tank.

      They are scavengers and feed on scrap of whatever food the fish missed.

    Hey I’m thinking of getting one, but I was wondering
    A. Where can I get one, and for how much
    B. Do I need a permit or license or anything
    C. Can I leave them for long stretches at a time without giving daily food or what not

    • @TerraSharkTV
      @TerraSharkTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It has been years since I shopped for one but we got ours at the LFS and I believe it was under $20 at the time. I do not believe anywhere requires a permit or liscence. And I am not sure what you mean by long stretches of time but they are scavengers so in an established system they can go quite a while just picking through leftovers in the substrate.

    add tonnes of algae eaters to tanks. the water looks fine though. all it needs is algae eaters.

    Hey i know this is an old vid but i was wondering what type of tank would you recemend for one and other salt water fish? Also where can on buy a horseshoe crab??

    • @TerraSharkTV
      @TerraSharkTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are slow growers so you could go a while with a 40 breeder tank. Longterm tank I would recommend a 125 gallon for ample floor space for them. And minimal rock stacks they dig and they could knock rocks over and hurt themselves or the tank. Deep enough sand for them to burrow is important too. As far as buying them currently a quick google search shows a couple online stores with them in stock. I was lucky enough to get ours at a Local Fish Store at the time.
      Hope this helps. Any more questions feel free to drop them here.

    can you really have horseshoe crabs as pets?

    • @TerraSharkTV
      @TerraSharkTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In a well established tank with deep enough sand and plenty of feeding, they can do good. Most tanks don't provide enough space and food, but it absolutely can be done.

      They are touchy sometimes. Hopefully, it is feeding. Test.your water parameters make sure everything is in check. It could be molting or possibly having trouble molting. Crabs need a proper iodine level, among other things, to molt properly. Good luck, hope it pulls through.

    How can I put mangroves in my reef tank? What types of plants and where do I get the plants from?

    • @TerraSharkTV
      @TerraSharkTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can buy mangroves online. As long as they are sticking out of the top they should be ok.

    • @torchmmaempire
      @torchmmaempire 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TerraSharkTV Ok thank you. BTW do I need to keep the plants moist with fresh water. I saw this video of someone spraying the plants with water to keepem moist. Can the roots be fully exposed inside the tank or do I need to fab a pot?

      @@TerraSharkTV Cool thanks mate. I just learned mangroves like to consume alot of magnesium so that will require to test my 40 gal mixed reef tank often.
