the thing is the sims 2 was an actual videogame, it war hard, funky and rewarding, meanwhile the sims 3 and 4 are all about making things easy, they are more a dollhouse simulator, reather than a life simulator.

Even for my Elven Sims in Sims 2 life is hard among humans, but they hope that their efforts to befriend men, but playing with them is real fun and challenge, some are single jobless mothers who grow garden as to make cash and some use their skills to make money, sorry if I carried away with this. Actually Sims 3 for me a a bit hard.
Тари Гранфаере I have a medieval game and what you said is so true. My medieval sims fight for monarchy, and the peasants fight to raise up in the ranks. It's hard though because they barely make money off of farming, but the open for business pack helps wonders. I also have a brothel too, a monastery, and 3 dukes. Life is crazy for them
Ashwath Toontown While it was intended, Will Wright (The creator of The Sims) wanted to add more stuff that he couldn't do in The Sims 1, thus The Sims 2 was made (The best in the series).
Sims 2 was my favorite. It had the most detail, quirkiness, and cute animations. Sims 3's open world was a lot of fun and I had no trouble running it on a laptop. I know a lot of people complained that it was too buggy but I never had problems. Sims 4 is a step backward. It's OK, but they got rid of the open world and just have sims teleport everywhere. It would have been better if they did it like in sims 2 and had them get into cars and drive off. Sims 4 is like a simple phone game instead of a computer game.
Sims 4 was actually gonna be released as a mobile game, but then they decided for it to be their 4th but sims game, 3 is my favorite, but I've never played 2 so I'm still not sure, but I've had soooooo much fun with 3
Sims 4 was actually going to be released as a multiplayer game formerly known as sims Olympus, that’s why the sims look very cartoony and the layout seems like something you’d see in a mobile version of the sims. This project clearly didn’t work out and maxis decided to build the sims 4 on the Olympus engine keep in mind the engine was made to support lower end pc’s and it wasn’t as powerful as the sims 3 engine, so that’s where everything went wrong. That’s why when the sims 4 launched we didn’t get pools, basements, terrain tools, toddlers at first and that’s why teens and young adults look similar.
Something I've always liked about Sims 3 is how you can watch your sim drive around the city, to and back from work, it's like you're actually with them instead of watching them teleport away
if we could take the emotions from sims 4 (and higher textures/graphics) & some if not most of the social interactions and cut scenes from the sims 2. put them in the sims 3. we would have the perfect sims game
Babies 3 really seemed like a step back from 2. The changing table was a great little addition and having your babies bathed in sinks/tubs was good to for realism. But I do like the way the babies in 4 look and the interactions available.

There is not. But they are in like t shirts and diapers. There arms and legs move around so YAY no burrito babies (it's a boyritto!) I haven't played enough to see if there is a pattern but I've seen the green and yellow shirts that are in this video.
Its a little weird and disturbing that parents in Sims 4 will let their children go to other worlds on their own and let them stay out for all hours of the night.
Sims 2 also had Smart Milk for toddlers to boost skill gain. It was an adult aspiration reward; pretty sure it was in the base game. I'd say eliminating the curfew in Sims 4 was a step backward, not forward!
I agree curfew is very necessary. Let them be in a club in real life and somebody is going to jail. I don't like the message they tried to send with that.
+Sasha rose Yeah. In my country we minors have a curfew. They should have one because it's dangerous to be outside in the middle of the night without adult supervision.
Been playing since the Sims 1, and while I still pick up the Sims 2 to play every so often, the Sims 3 is the best and only one I play. The Sims 4 just reverts back to the Sims 2 and does nearly nothing new. The Sims 2 is difficult to play because they're motives go down so quickly and it's difficult to be motivated to leave the home lot. Sims 3 is great because it allows you to play without peeing 20 times a day and there is so much incentive to leave home and explore and benefit from the world.
Yeah I liked some things of 2 (having to throw out diapers and bottles wouldn't be bad now with 4's system where you can drag stuff to the trash but it could easily get overwhelming. Plus they'd always just toss it on the floor. I liked the games kids could play in Sims 2, but I really liked being able to have the kids go around on their own on bikes in 3. They could go visit their friends or hang out at the playground after school and then bike home. The system in 4 is less interesting though bc they just disappear into the aether like every Sim
Sims 4 was so disappointing, sure it looked good and ran smooth but the fact you had to get expansion pacts for basic things like a pool for example, which sucked.
Eh? I think you must mean the hot tub. The pool was added as a free update for the base-game a few months after the game first came out. Where as the hot tub came with the 'Perfect Patio' stuff pack. (the cost of which was $10)
Oh really? That's great progress! I got it when it very first came out and returned it pretty quick. I think I'll wait for it to be more established before I invest in it anymore. Sims 2 babies also have a bouncy chair and an activity toy. Toddlers will also throw food if you feed them in the highchair twice and they are not hungry. A toddler who can walk can climb out of a crib. There are mods that allow for other things as well. You didn't show the activity table, it skills creativity and mechanical. They can also play with the doll house and other toys and do things outside. They can play in sand and snow and leaves, interact with pets and there is a ride on toy.
***** The only thing that sims 3 toddlers have that sims 2 toddlers don't have is the reading books interaction. While Sims 2 toddlers can be bathed and changed which sims 3 toddlers cannot be. The rest is pretty close to being the same.
yeah, i never get attached to the sims in sims 4 like i used to in sims 2 & 3. its all about the toddlers. i remember being a kid and playing sims 2, i had a baby toddler named Jaska and i remember teaching him how to walk. i literally can't even remember the names of the sims im playing with rn in sims 4
3 is best (IMP) but sims 2 looks great as well, sims 4 removed a lot of stuff and the packs are more pricy like why do you get less stuff for more money?
the sims 2 will always be the best sims game, hands down. sims 3 is close second, minus all its bugs and lag. sims 4 is nice and modern, but extremely lacks content and things to do.
hey don't worry EA will release an expansion for you to "purchase" to have them I can think of sims 5 every and each item, ghosts, life stages have to be purchased in order for you to have them
It’s so weird that there’s not pre-teen phase. They jump from like 9 year olds to 16 year olds. What happened to middle school and that awkward phase? Lol 😂
Actually, Sims 4 put a lot more social interactions than the other 2 games, I guess they were trying to compensate the fact that they'd basically be objects.
It's like they've slowly stopped caring about toddlers in these games. Which is really stupid. I play with families a lot and I really hate that there aren't toddlers in ts4. I regret buying it a bit, but now I'm so used to it that I don't think I can play ts3 without really missing some of the features in ts4. So I really hope they're going to add toddlers at some point
Me personally, I like the sim the animation, like how they look. But sims 2 was the best, you could do so much and I love playing it, sims 3 is good too, but sims 4? No I hate it. I hope that sims 5 will be so much better. sims 5 needs: Babies, not in blanket. Toddlers. interactions with kids and toddlers. Sims 3 animation. and much much more
Agreed. I feel as though Sims 2 just has so much but there are a few things I prefer in Sims 3 and 4...Then maybe I would buy Sims 5 ha-ha! I don't like the neighborhood aspect of Sims 4 or the lack of toddlers (my favourite stage ha-ha). I still kind of feel as though I should give it another change...
I honestly think a mix of sims 2 and 3 would've been perfect. I also have to say I'm a little disappointed they didn't add in bathing the toddlers in a tub in sims 3, but the attitude they give you when you try to give them more food is hilarious.
it's pretty bad that the sims 2 which was released in 04 looks better than the sims 4 which was released 10 years later. ever since will wright left the sims just isnt the same. ive played all 4 and 1 was amazing for its time, 2 was incredible, and 3 was....well it had some good aspects like the customization of clothes & furniture, body sliders, open world etc but i still liked sims 2 better, and sims 4 is a fucking a joke. none of it feels like "the sims" anymore. they have less personality, less funny little easter eggs like llamas and aliens, less interesting storylines. the sims 2 had an area 51 town, a shakespearean town, a town with soap opera drama in every household. sims 3 was just meh no personalities. didnt even have memories until that patch... and dont even get me started on how the games look hazy and the sims look like theyre made of fucking play doh. and the sims 4 is literally missing things that were in the SIMS 1 which was released in fucking 2000. no pools? really? no toddlers? sims 2 and 3 had toddlers EA r u ok??? im rambling here but the point is sims 2 for life mother fuckers
I AM SUPERIOR TO YOU KNEEL DOWN! yeah, as an update lol. pools shipped with sims 1 yet had to be a separate update for a game that was released 14 years later. EA games: challenge everything!
Le Queen again, as an update. it should have been there at the base game release. you can't take away a feature that was implemented in 2004 and take over 2 years to add it to a game made 10 years later and call it an "update" lol. sims 4 has regressed badly from where the sims was as a franchise.
Hey I love the more interaction with the Toddlers! They build on what they learn as they grow up. I think was bad decision to scrap toddlers. And the childhoods are better in 2&3.
I don't normally like watching videos without talking in them, but this video is so well put together that it did not need talking. Big props to D3NIS5E. Well done! I thought the Sim Twins were adorable, but I bet they were a handful to their parents!...err, the person playing the game. I have not had twins in any Sims game ...yet. Of course one can create sim twins in CAS....which I have done, but to have natural twins would be a trip. :)

I hate how when the toddler in the sims 3 is making a mess, the mother is FURIOUS. All the emotions in sims 3 were so fake same for sims 4, (most of them) in sims 2, it’s more realistic.
Sims 2 was made with love and dedication Sims 3 was made with some dedication, a little bit of love but tons of game breaking glitches and that's when Will Wright was no longer with Maxis and EA's cancerous growth had taken over Sims 4 was when the sims franchise had terminal cancer of EA SIms 5 would be basically a dead game
I think this should be mentioned: that cinematics, that is from baby to toddler transition only happens when you make a party and use a birthday cake, it's not a "common" thing!
I do love the Sims 4 (builder here) but the young years are so incredibly boring and useless. I loved the little tasks/challenges in the Sims 3, made the everyday life a little bit more interesting.
Children in The Sims 2 can interact with infants if a teen' or older sim are holding them. And breastfeeding were first introduced in The Sims Medieval. There is also a changing table for infants & toddlers in The Sims 3 store. Fun note of The Sims Medieval, infants can be left alone at home. Your sim can walk around without having someone remain on the lot or hire a babysitter. Suggestively return home before the infants needs get to low. Same as in The Sims 4 (post toddler update), infants leap out of the grib and turn into child.
You did not include the generations expansion pack when talking about the sims 3 and how both babies and toddlers will get an imaginary friend toy that they can play with
I never got to play Sims 2 because by the time I wanted it it was at the end of it's circulation and hard to find the base game. The sims 2 is really winning with these interactions.

The Sims 2 babies are the best. In fact, the sims 2 was going to be my favorite game if it weren't so easy to die. (Sorry for my bad English, I’m still learning)
I think not bringing toddlers into the game seriously is one of their biggest mistakes, according to me. For a lot of people, including me, the family play is the most fun part of playing TS. I know they tried to focus on other things like careers, emotions and traits. And if they were actually AMAZINGLY well done and detailed maybe I would enjoy it and not really think about the lack of family play since there would be all these new cool things to do instead. But I just kind of feel like they didn't really make any changes or improvements at all with these. Actually, I feel like my sims are a lot more generic than ever before. And the careers are really boring, kind of annoying and don't engage me at all like they've done in previous games. I've been playing TS4 for about a year now hoping it would grow on me but I've found myself getting pretty bored with the game which has never happened with any other TS game before. One thing I will give them though is that CAS is amazing in TS4. I just wish they would implement more things to do and more places to go to (and reasons to go places as well) and, of course, toddlers and more family interactions. At least that's what I'm hanging onto and why I'm still playing it. Well... that turned in to a book... I should go to bed before I bore you with more night thoughts.
i think Sims 2 is the best, i also love Sims 3 and Sims 4. Yes, i don't hate Sims 4. It may has no toddlers, but they will patch them in soon. Just like they did with the pools and other stuff. Sims 4 has so much love in it, and i absoloutley love how the Sims can interact with each other. Sims 4 is not about realistic graphics, it's different but this different is good! I don't play it myself, i watch the Lets Play from Honeyball-Vollkornhonig. And i just love how the People playing this game can change it. Honey can let them live and if you are a real Sims player you can do that too! No matter the Graphics, no matter the interactions, it doesn't matter. Sorry about my english.
@a- Well, I love all of the sims games, just for different reasons. But my favourite at the moment is the sims 4, with the build mode I suddenly realized that I could build really cool things that dont look ugly, the furniture is pretty too and the game gives alot of freedom between the limitations. Open world is great and all, but in gameplay it got a little annoying for the sims 3. I usually never went out and did something with my sims because going somewhere took alot of time..... sorry for rambling. Thanks for answering, I totally forgot about this comment!
I used to be getting mad a sims 3 because they be so quick to put the baby on the floor constantly. like they are not going to put the baby in the crib or hand the baby to the partners like omggggg stooooop.
@@n.w.6984 Technically children could interact with babies in Sims 3, but only if you had the baby swing from the Store, so it sadly wasn't standard base game play.

Sims 2 and 3 were good games. Sims 4 wouldn't be so dumb If it had all features of Sims 3 + It's new features (Build Mode and CAS are S4's highlights to me).
In my opinion I like Sims 2 better than Sims 3 because of the more realistic actions with the babies. I am also kind of disappointed Sims 4 isn't an open world. Along with that the babies didn't even get to be taken out of the crib and there is no Toddler age. Big disappointment will lots of little good things like the new emotions.

I like the sims 4 babies cause for 1 they wear clothes and 2 they aren't wrapped up like a burrito
oh my god... the sims 2 was so awesome. all the interactions were so so much better
and the cutscenes for the special moments made everything so much more special

that's the point. When I want to chill I play the sims 3, when I'm ready for the challenge I play the sims 2
I love TS3 and I the only reason why i took a break was because of how long it loaded, for me.

Toddlers will also throw food if you feed them in the highchair twice and they are not hungry. A toddler who can walk can climb out of a crib. There are mods that allow for other things as well. You didn't show the activity table, it skills creativity and mechanical. They can also play with the doll house and other toys and do things outside. They can play in sand and snow and leaves, interact with pets and there is a ride on toy.

The only thing that sims 3 toddlers have that sims 2 toddlers don't have is the reading books interaction. While Sims 2 toddlers can be bathed and changed which sims 3 toddlers cannot be. The rest is pretty close to being the same.

Personally, I've always favored TS3 babies. I've just always loved how female babies are in pink blankets while male babies are in blue.
It's like they've slowly stopped caring about toddlers in these games. Which is really stupid. I play with families a lot and I really hate that there aren't toddlers in ts4. I regret buying it a bit, but now I'm so used to it that I don't think I can play ts3 without really missing some of the features in ts4. So I really hope they're going to add toddlers at some point

I honestly think a mix of sims 2 and 3 would've been perfect. I also have to say I'm a little disappointed they didn't add in bathing the toddlers in a tub in sims 3, but the attitude they give you when you try to give them more food is hilarious.
it's pretty bad that the sims 2 which was released in 04 looks better than the sims 4 which was released 10 years later. ever since will wright left the sims just isnt the same. ive played all 4 and 1 was amazing for its time, 2 was incredible, and 3 was....well it had some good aspects like the customization of clothes & furniture, body sliders, open world etc but i still liked sims 2 better, and sims 4 is a fucking a joke. none of it feels like "the sims" anymore. they have less personality, less funny little easter eggs like llamas and aliens, less interesting storylines. the sims 2 had an area 51 town, a shakespearean town, a town with soap opera drama in every household. sims 3 was just meh no personalities. didnt even have memories until that patch... and dont even get me started on how the games look hazy and the sims look like theyre made of fucking play doh. and the sims 4 is literally missing things that were in the SIMS 1 which was released in fucking 2000. no pools? really? no toddlers? sims 2 and 3 had toddlers EA r u ok??? im rambling here but the point is sims 2 for life mother fuckers

I think not bringing toddlers into the game seriously is one of their biggest mistakes, according to me. For a lot of people, including me, the family play is the most fun part of playing TS. I know they tried to focus on other things like careers, emotions and traits. And if they were actually AMAZINGLY well done and detailed maybe I would enjoy it and not really think about the lack of family play since there would be all these new cool things to do instead. But I just kind of feel like they didn't really make any changes or improvements at all with these. Actually, I feel like my sims are a lot more generic than ever before. And the careers are really boring, kind of annoying and don't engage me at all like they've done in previous games.
I've been playing TS4 for about a year now hoping it would grow on me but I've found myself getting pretty bored with the game which has never happened with any other TS game before.
One thing I will give them though is that CAS is amazing in TS4. I just wish they would implement more things to do and more places to go to (and reasons to go places as well) and, of course, toddlers and more family interactions. At least that's what I'm hanging onto and why I'm still playing it.

i think Sims 2 is the best, i also love Sims 3 and Sims 4. Yes, i don't hate Sims 4. It may has no toddlers, but they will patch them in soon. Just like they did with the pools and other stuff. Sims 4 has so much love in it, and i absoloutley love how the Sims can interact with each other. Sims 4 is not about realistic graphics, it's different but this different is good! I don't play it myself, i watch the Lets Play from Honeyball-Vollkornhonig. And i just love how the People playing this game can change it. Honey can let them live and if you are a real Sims player you can do that too! No matter the Graphics, no matter the interactions, it doesn't matter.

But my favourite at the moment is the sims 4, with the build mode I suddenly realized that I could build really cool things that dont look ugly, the furniture is pretty too and the game gives alot of freedom between the limitations.
Open world is great and all, but in gameplay it got a little annoying for the sims 3. I usually never went out and did something with my sims because going somewhere took alot of time..... sorry for rambling.

In my opinion I like Sims 2 better than Sims 3 because of the more realistic actions with the babies. I am also kind of disappointed Sims 4 isn't an open world.
