I have a 2017 Ford Fusion and I had no idea you could change the sync 3 theme by doing this sound test thing. went to my car and did it and instantly was presented with all those options. on top of that the truck review was excellent as well. the whole video was absolutely awesome thank you man!
Travel link was in my 2010 lariat. It also had the local gas prices, movie listings, and also could watch the radar map on the screen. It does seem to have way more features in the newer years. Nice truck by the way. And good review video.

So comfy!..Not as rough road feel as the Silverado and, comfortable, and good overall truck(towing, gas mileage, payload, safety etc). I think I'm a fan! Really considering one now with the same package as yours, on Oxford white. Great review!
Thanks man I really appreciate that! After seeing the crash tests for the 17s and test driving a ram, gmc n the ford, this one was by far the most comfortable. Honestly the gas is pretty close to real world after now 6500mi is about 18.5-19 combined. Not sure if mentioned in the video but with mine being 5.0 and the heavy duty tow max is 11,200 n 1900 payload.
Thanks for the video, it helped me with some of the buttons and menu items, I just bought an '18 FX4 375 BHP/470 Ft lbs. 3.5 liter ecoboost LXT in white gold a couple days ago, she's a beaut and pulls my 7,000 lb boat like it isn't even there. Mine is the XLT but came with the column shifter which I prefer over the console shifter as it opens up the console for more space. Mine also has the tow package which is easily differentiated by two control levers under the pro trailer assist knob...it is for adjusting a trailers electric brakes....but if you have the levers you also have the heavy duty transmission cooler.
Just ran into your channel. Got a 2018 xlt as well. Already did a few upgrades to it. I love to see what others do And get some ideas. And I learned quit a bit off this vid. Just Subscribed!
Nice review, your right they are outstanding Ford really knows how to make a truck. I have the 2015 Lariat with the 5.0 and same color, I'm going to keep it a couple more years till they bring out the next gen F-150. I hear the sync 3 system is very good, I just posted a 50K review of mine and the only thing I was disappointed with is the sync system, other than that I have zero complaints.
You can actually update to the sync 3. Just for the program u can go to fords website n download it via USB and then plug it into the USB port in your truck n if u already have the 8in screen ur all set.
I actually had a 16 before this and I had to update it myself and it was super easy. Took maybe 20min tops. Just followed the directions on fords site. I think its says you need a 32g flash drive but I used a 16g n it was fine. Then ull be able to change the screens n stuff. Without forscan the screen will change back though.
I finally got around to the update; The voice recognition has been improved and the touch input seems a bit more responsive other than that I've noticed little else; still, it is an improvement. Thanks for the info. F.Y.I. I was at my dealer last week and ask them about the update, they would do it for $100 😒
ATTENTION FORD F150 FANS: Scotty Kilmer says the 5.0L oil consumption problem ('17, '18, '19) is a Ford class defect that Ford won't admit to. All of Ford's work arounds don't address or fix the real problem..... which is that Ford used an aluminum block on these 5.0 engines, and didn't sleeve the cylinders. They used a ceramic coating in these cylinders (to save a few pennies), and this coating is either failing or it isn't working as it's supposed to, thus causing the massive oil consumption problem.
I just bought a 2019 STX Supercrew 4x4 with 5.0L for a decent price. It's pretty basic on the inside but honestly I can manually adjust a seat and not die if my butt isn't heated and cooled. 😆
Butch Dye With cloth seats it doesnt really matter. And if you are wearing pants its even more irrelevant. No one is sitting in their trucks with raw butt cheeks on cold leather in the morning. Unless thats what you do?
The weather techs have a higher lip in the rear. Those floor mats you have will spill over on the rear when you step on the gas and have a decent amount of water in them. That's what i experienced with my non weather tech floor mats. Thx for the review.
My f1 is a 2012 3.5 EcoBoost I've been in the market looking at a 18 I'm really stuck on it good price just got the 50 coyote just like yours 133,000. My family's been Chevy and Ford mix I'm just trying to do some research I was wondering I know you posted this video 5 years ago and if you still had the truck you got to have some miles on your truck by now and wondering how you liked 10 speed transmission and what issues if any?

Nice truck! I got into a '18 regular cab short bed with the 5.0 last month. So many things to love, even coming from the totaled '17. Having known the 5.0 Gen2 very well, all I can say is that the 5.0 Gen3 is a frigging demon! Nothing else comes close, and I've driven so many loaner Chevys with the 5.3 L83 in the past year I might as well own one. Coming from GM's 7" IOB and 8" IO6 systems, Sync 3 is a breath of fresh air. The rattle is annoying but is a pretty straightforward software fix. As is the transmission, but only if it falls under the build date period of May or earlier. My 5.0 doesn't have the rattle but my 10R80 badly needs the TCM update, since it is an April build date. Ford is only *now* making Sync 3 standard for XLT, all the way down to 300A, so the only way to get the craptastic 4.2" screen is with a non-STX XL. Would have been nice if they had seen the light back in 2017.
I"ve got the exact same truck...i've thrown in the all weather floor mats (f150 emblems) and put a BakIndustries FX4 tonneau cover in bed with the Bak Box under it....nice truck!

Comes in handy when traveling with luggage etc. doesn't leak either...about half the price of a fiberglass shell...so it's not cheap, but is worth it for security's sake...don't know that it helps with fuel mileage all that much, but my reason for purchase was to hide contents of bed while traveling....
@@krskadave yea the gas mileage would be secondary to me as well. It's all about being able to secure the items in the bed. That's great that it doesnt leak at all though I'll definitely have to check that one out! Thanks!
WickedF150 The Bak MX4 is the way to go. Go to eBay and order one and you can get it for under $1,000. Installs easily and what’s nice is of you need, you can still use the entire bed to haul stuff if you need. This is my third Bak cover and they never disappoint.
The Line-X liner is better than the ford installed one. Line-X spays farther down the edge of the box where the gate is, also they take the top caps off and spray there, and the thickness is greater. I would always chose to have it done aftermarket, and I Don’t work for Line-X
My old 2005 Ford Escape with the 3.0 Duratec V6 gets barely 20 mpg on the highway. Usually averaging 16-17 mpg. His truck is making me jealous in every way.
Smart choice on the Coyote 5.0. Been tested and tried for 8 years now and will last compared to the V6 Ecobust engines. I recommend getting the 5.0 emblems and Coyote Head Emblem. Looks great on truck. Same as Mustang GT 5.0.
I have not yet towed anything but would be a trailer. It has 3.55 but I did not order it I bought it off the lot. I wouldve preferred 3.73. It is 4x4 yes.
Sick truck really like the color. I've been debating weather I should purchase a 2018 5.0 f-150 or a 15-17 because I have heard the 2018 has engine noise issues. Any chance yours is plagued by this too?
@@andrewmorgan5541 yep, that was the main issue but it had the rattle, a clunk at start up, transmission issues, oil consumption, warped dash(everyone has), leaking rear window they couldnt seem to fix and a leaking rear tail light. I have videos of the issues on here including a short of the engine specific issues if youd like to take a listen so you know.
I would personally get a 2.7 if your planning on getting 17 and above. 3.5 17 + has issues and 5.0 18+ has issues. Take a look at my 18 issues playlist, has all the videos in there

I love my F150. Don't be fooled by those big towing numbers. Those only apply to a 2WD supercab. Once you load up 4WD XLT and FX4 package your towing and payload numbers while still respectable are nowhere near those big numbers that Ford advertises. Not to mention if you are going to regularly be towing over about 7,000lbs then you really should be in a 3/4 or 1 ton truck for safety reasons. Your new truck is beautiful and I am sure you will enjoy it for as long as you keep it.
Mike Johnson that’s fine but the marketing is very deceptive. On a commercial they will show a fully loaded top trim truck while quoting the numbers from other trucks. I am sure most people don’t realize how much their numbers change as they change trim levels and options and other configurations.

John Huff sometimes I seriously wonder if these new trucks can last as long as the older ones. The Tundras can forsure, those are solid trucks. But the other ones I hope so.
@mike Johnson The newer trucks will last a long time, maybe longer than the older trucks, time will tell. Tundras are just an average vehicle, if you try to work them they fall apart, prob handy for goin to get some ice cream tho

My 2015 F150 XLT 2.7 EB MPG lie-o-meter consistently showed 1.5-2.0MPG better than hand calculated at the pump. Wonder how accurate yours is even though you said it did 19.8MPG on a long trip.
It was always 1-1.5mpg lower hand calculated. But now that I did the fix for that(I uploaded how to do that a couple videos ago) its at least within .5mpg if not dead on.
Just bought a 2018 xlt same like this one but red but I have a question I know that my truck is 4x4 but it doesn't have the symbol in the back that says 4x4 or Fx4 or nothing and then it has a Texas edition emblem plus the front hood has a design that they put F-150 in blk. And also has a wolf or coyote emblem on both sides of the front fender. Im been looking for three trim on this truck, not sure if someone added all these features or did it come like this from the factory
Someone added, the Texas edition emblem is just something dealerships add, actually adds nothing. Same as Oklahoma edition, absolutely nothing. You can Google your vin and it'll tell you what trim
You can't update to sync 3 from sync 2 just with a software update. The whole operating system and supporting hardware is completely different between sync 2 and 3.
I'm curious, now that you've had it a while. Are you having any oil burning issues? Lot's of people with a 2018 5.0 engine, are losing oil at a rate of about a quart every 1000 miles. How's yours?

Awesome man!! You mean the pro trailer back up?...mine does have that yea it's right below the 4wd knob. If you mean the 360 camera to help park then no, u have to go up a trim or two to get that lol
WickedF150 I was really thinking about the 3.7 eco boost. I don’t tow much (mostly use truck for a commute and in case I need to use the bed to take a stove or whatever home) and I heard the 3.7 was a really good engine I believe
WickedF150 that’s the one I meant lol yeah I got an 08 Dodge Ram with the hemi 5.7 V8 and I realized I don’t need all that tow power and what not. Hopefully the 2.7 comes in a crew can or so
@@nickbread1247 agreed! You can buy a harness that will turn it off for $100 I believe. You can also turn it off 3 other ways without doing that but those mess with the battery management system and not something I'd like to worry about. When I got my new one tuned I had them turn it off.
Very nice truck and review.... For that kind of money I still can't believe the XLT doesn't come with the bush button start! Almost a deal breaker for me in that trim level. What were they thinking.

@@WICKEDAUTO1 I just hate the push start buttons because when I want to turn off the vehicle and open the door it just still turns on and I have to turn it off before opening the door. I guess it's time to get used to the future.
Leaning towards buying this truck but have been finding so many reviews saying they have had oil consumption issues and knocking noise issues...sucks because I really want to go with Ford. Seems like you have had a great experience though.

Buddy wrap that front bumper like I did on my 07 no rust looks new. Its a clear wrap you can get from any decal vendor. Just saying if you are keeping it over 15 years my 07 FX4 in Oxford white the front bumper looks as new as it was in 2007. Overall the truck to the novice looks 2 years old in the salt belt driven every day.
Honestly just wanted something different...at the time went from the ram to a car. Horrible mistake lol but I am happier with the ford over the ram. But idk now with those 19 rams
Never mind, I see Mack 10 addressed all the things I have heard. Question for the 5.0 owners out there. I bought a 18 STX in Sept. Its in the shop for the second time now because it makes a few noises I didn't expect. When I run through the gears 1-7 if I let off the gas the tranny makes a pretty loud shudder. It does it when it warms up also but not nearly as audible. Another is a tick/slight knock at idol after warm. Almost sounds like a very slight valve tap or small exhaust leak. It also has spark knock pretty regularly, mostly at moderate acceleration, not hard accel but normal driving. Anyone else hearing these sounds? Im mostly pleased with the truck and the power doesn't seem to be limited at all. My concern is I want to own this truck 10+ years and after spending $40Kish I dont want crap wrong.
Brother, I wish I could help. About 2 months ago I purchased nearly the exact same truck in the video just in Magnetic Grey and I've had absolutely 0 issues and just drove from San Fran to St. Louis and still no strange noises or anything- roughly 7600 miles now. I would seriously hound the crap out of Ford to ensure your brand new truck is exactly what you paid for.
@@sean-yb5hc It is at Ford right now. Dropped it off today. If nothing else I will have record of the issues. Still love the truck just want stuff covered if it ends up being a design flaw or faulty parts. My gut tells me the tyranny will be replaced under recall in a couple years.
I have the exact same truck as the video 18 5.0 fx4 and honestly it does sound a little funny but It runs fine so far I haven’t had any issues. Now what I mean by funny is it sounds like it ticks. No knocking just a slight tick. I drove it off the lot with only 4 miles I’m now at 3400 and it sounds the same. Until it actually gives me any problems or anything I’m not taking it in I assume the noise is normal.
It rides great in my opinion! I think it rides better than my 16' ram 1500 but it has gotten even better since I put the leveling kit on actually. Gas mileage is great for the 5.0 if u stay under 65 highway, above that it goes to around 18ish combined going 75highway.
Only complaint I have is the grill. Should be color matched when you get sport package. You have to get the lariat for that. If they wanted to separate them then at least make the grill black or something the grey is like a sore thumb. Otherwise I love it.
The auto/start stop will definitely save you gas if you are stopped for more than 7-10 seconds (not an exact science, depends on the vehicle). But if you are stopped for less than 7 seconds, then the start/stop will actually cost you more gas since starting the engine burns extra gas.
7-10 sec is not accurate, awhile back the actual study was posted on the forum. They tested in New York city...and it was between 1-11%, sorry but it's a waste
@@WICKEDAUTO1 the TH-camr "Engineering Explained" did a test on this and he found it it wàs around 7 seconds. But his test was in a garage, not driving around. So maybe he was wrong.

Have you noticed any oil consumption problems? I’m on my second 5 litre replacement in my 2018 and it burns oil as bad as the first one. First one was replaced at 20,000 miles after complaining about it from day one. The replacement motor burned oil from day one and now has 16,000 miles and still burning about a quart every 1000 miles. Love the truck but totally disgusted with the oil burning
@@WICKEDAUTO1 I have a 2018 Mustang GT. I'm sick and tired of the rattle and the tick that comes and goes. I've had 2 dealers tell me the rattle is normal. Ford really screwed us gen III 5.0 adopters.
And I've heard that quite a bit from others but it cant be normal if they put out a fix for it. Like they are so dumb for that. So u know if it's in the shop more than like 35days I believe u can put in for a buy back.
@@WICKEDAUTO1 yeah so far I have 2 weeks in the shop with an appointment on Jan 7th to bring it in again. I opened a case with Ford and want the bores scoped. I did my first oil change at 4908 miles and found silver and copper colored flakes in the filter.
I feel like getting one but put a 2017 Raptor front clip on it and remove all badging...but idunno...Only because they new Raptors dont have a damn V8 smh

@daniel Rubio The 400 lb of torque the 2.7 makes is all in at a low 2750, the five oh has to wind up to 4000 rpm to get to its max. Low end torque is what you want and need in a truck, not winding up an engine that was designed for a car like the five oh is made for. The five oh is a slug off the line and the 2.7 is a faster truck
The price of trucks are stupid high compared to equivalent car trim levels. You acting surprised that you didn’t get memory seats on a lower trim level is funny. Yeah i didn’t get them either on my Fusion SE lol

Can't rem if I did or not...watching the whole video might've helped. Yes you either need the special edition or sport interior to have it but u do not have to build with the exterior sport appearance since mine is not. Mine is 302a which on ford is the chrome package. So you pay for that but get the sport appearance if you choose the sport interior.
@@WICKEDAUTO1 You have to get the sport appearance package to have those seats, you have it. You have the magnetic grill and body colored bumpers, wrapped steering wheel....that is the sport appearance.

I'm not disagreeing I explained how it's possible. It is only special edition interior or sport.
@@CM-cw8fe no you dont have to have the exterior sport selected. That's why I said did you read my comment. Go onto ford.com and build one. Select the 302a chrome and the sport interior. It changes the look to sport but you still only have the 302a chrome selected for exterior.
WickedF150 it automatically selects the sport appearance package at a discounted rate (300 bucks) for both the 2019 and 2018 models when you have the 302A selected and you choose the ‘Unique Sport Coth’ interior. Not to mention you have the wheels that come with the sport appearance package haha

Not necessarily..you can still have the transmission cooler and not get the trailer brake controller..

I had a 2016 F-150 Lariat FX4, loved it. Wish I still had it. I got a 2018 F-250 XLT but don’t like the ride. I may go back to a Lariat F-150
If you keep this truck you should for sure get the blacked out 5.0L emblems for the sides

11:25 Protip: if you cut a drinking straw to the length of the gap and place it in that u-channel groove. The tray the truck comes with won't move.

Nice truck! I got into a '18 regular cab short bed with the 5.0 last month. So many things to love, even coming from the totaled '17. Having known the 5.0 Gen2 very well, all I can say is that the 5.0 Gen3 is a frigging demon! Nothing else comes close, and I've driven so many loaner Chevys with the 5.3 L83 in the past year I might as well own one. Coming from GM's 7" IOB and 8" IO6 systems, Sync 3 is a breath of fresh air.
The rattle is annoying but is a pretty straightforward software fix. As is the transmission, but only if it falls under the build date period of May or earlier. My 5.0 doesn't have the rattle but my 10R80 badly needs the TCM update, since it is an April build date.
Ford is only *now* making Sync 3 standard for XLT, all the way down to 300A, so the only way to get the craptastic 4.2" screen is with a non-STX XL. Would have been nice if they had seen the light back in 2017.

I"ve got the exact same truck...i've thrown in the all weather floor mats (f150 emblems) and put a BakIndustries FX4 tonneau cover in bed with the Bak Box under it....nice truck!
That's one thing im hoping to get this year sometime is a tonneau cover. How do you like yours so far?

Comes in handy when traveling with luggage etc. doesn't leak either...about half the price of a fiberglass shell...so it's not cheap, but is worth it for security's sake...don't know that it helps with fuel mileage all that much, but my reason for purchase was to hide contents of bed while traveling....
@@krskadave yea the gas mileage would be secondary to me as well. It's all about being able to secure the items in the bed. That's great that it doesnt leak at all though I'll definitely have to check that one out! Thanks!
WickedF150 The Bak MX4 is the way to go. Go to eBay and order one and you can get it for under $1,000. Installs easily and what’s nice is of you need, you can still use the entire bed to haul stuff if you need. This is my third Bak cover and they never disappoint.
The Line-X liner is better than the ford installed one. Line-X spays farther down the edge of the box where the gate is, also they take the top caps off and spray there, and the thickness is greater. I would always chose to have it done aftermarket, and I Don’t work for Line-X
Damn a V8 has almost the same gas mileage as my V6.
But my 3.5 liter ecoboost has 375 BHP and 470 Ft lbs of torque...love my '18 FX4
My old 2005 Ford Escape with the 3.0 Duratec V6 gets barely 20 mpg on the highway. Usually averaging 16-17 mpg. His truck is making me jealous in every way.
Smart choice on the Coyote 5.0. Been tested and tried for 8 years now and will last compared to the V6 Ecobust engines. I recommend getting the 5.0 emblems and Coyote Head Emblem. Looks great on truck. Same as Mustang GT 5.0.

3 years later it seems that the Ecoboost is much more reliable than the 5.0 judging by car complaints and reviews.

I have not yet towed anything but would be a trailer. It has 3.55 but I did not order it I bought it off the lot. I wouldve preferred 3.73. It is 4x4 yes.
If u drive it in sport mode the auto stop mode automatically shuts off
Go online and get the Autostop Eliminator. Got one for my 2018 and it’s awesome.
Just push the button or put it in sport mode.
If you permentaly disable it & you end up in a traffic jam you'll wish you hadn't.

Sick truck really like the color. I've been debating weather I should purchase a 2018 5.0 f-150 or a 15-17 because I have heard the 2018 has engine noise issues. Any chance yours is plagued by this too?
Mine was a lemon law...I would HIGHLY suggest staying away from a 18-19 5.0! I now have a 19 2.7 and love it!!

@@andrewmorgan5541 yep, that was the main issue but it had the rattle, a clunk at start up, transmission issues, oil consumption, warped dash(everyone has), leaking rear window they couldnt seem to fix and a leaking rear tail light. I have videos of the issues on here including a short of the engine specific issues if youd like to take a listen so you know.

I would personally get a 2.7 if your planning on getting 17 and above. 3.5 17 + has issues and 5.0 18+ has issues. Take a look at my 18 issues playlist, has all the videos in there

The starter is beefed up for this. It also is not a complete restart.

I love my F150. Don't be fooled by those big towing numbers. Those only apply to a 2WD supercab. Once you load up 4WD XLT and FX4 package your towing and payload numbers while still respectable are nowhere near those big numbers that Ford advertises. Not to mention if you are going to regularly be towing over about 7,000lbs then you really should be in a 3/4 or 1 ton truck for safety reasons. Your new truck is beautiful and I am sure you will enjoy it for as long as you keep it.
John Huff that’s because they know most people that buy the crew cab luxury 4x4 trucks are mostly used for groceries.
Mike Johnson that’s fine but the marketing is very deceptive. On a commercial they will show a fully loaded top trim truck while quoting the numbers from other trucks. I am sure most people don’t realize how much their numbers change as they change trim levels and options and other configurations.

My 2015 F150 XLT 2.7 EB MPG lie-o-meter consistently showed 1.5-2.0MPG better than hand calculated at the pump. Wonder how accurate yours is even though you said it did 19.8MPG on a long trip.
It was always 1-1.5mpg lower hand calculated. But now that I did the fix for that(I uploaded how to do that a couple videos ago) its at least within .5mpg if not dead on.

Just bought a 2018 xlt same like this one but red but I have a question I know that my truck is 4x4 but it doesn't have the symbol in the back that says 4x4 or Fx4 or nothing and then it has a Texas edition emblem plus the front hood has a design that they put F-150 in blk. And also has a wolf or coyote emblem on both sides of the front fender. Im been looking for three trim on this truck, not sure if someone added all these features or did it come like this from the factory
Someone added, the Texas edition emblem is just something dealerships add, actually adds nothing. Same as Oklahoma edition, absolutely nothing. You can Google your vin and it'll tell you what trim

You can't update to sync 3 from sync 2 just with a software update. The whole operating system and supporting hardware is completely different between sync 2 and 3.

It would definitely be an upgrade if you get one of the ones without any of these issues! Hell, from an 08 just go to a 17 for the 5.0 or 16 for 3.5.
WickedF150 I was really thinking about the 3.7 eco boost. I don’t tow much (mostly use truck for a commute and in case I need to use the bed to take a stove or whatever home) and I heard the 3.7 was a really good engine I believe

What is the autostart and stop? Looking at buying a f150 from a sierra.
When you come to a stop it shuts the engine down when your foot is on the brake. As soon as you let off it automatically starts right back up.

@@nickbread1247 agreed! You can buy a harness that will turn it off for $100 I believe. You can also turn it off 3 other ways without doing that but those mess with the battery management system and not something I'd like to worry about. When I got my new one tuned I had them turn it off.
Very nice truck and review.... For that kind of money I still can't believe the XLT doesn't come with the bush button start! Almost a deal breaker for me in that trim level. What were they thinking.

No, this truck fell under the lemon law with all the issues but 2.7 I have now has been great, at 7300miles now

Buddy wrap that front bumper like I did on my 07 no rust looks new. Its a clear wrap you can get from any decal vendor. Just saying if you are keeping it over 15 years my 07 FX4 in Oxford white the front bumper looks as new as it was in 2007. Overall the truck to the novice looks 2 years old in the salt belt driven every day.

Question for the 5.0 owners out there. I bought a 18 STX in Sept. Its in the shop for the second time now because it makes a few noises I didn't expect. When I run through the gears 1-7 if I let off the gas the tranny makes a pretty loud shudder. It does it when it warms up also but not nearly as audible. Another is a tick/slight knock at idol after warm. Almost sounds like a very slight valve tap or small exhaust leak. It also has spark knock pretty regularly, mostly at moderate acceleration, not hard accel but normal driving. Anyone else hearing these sounds? Im mostly pleased with the truck and the power doesn't seem to be limited at all. My concern is I want to own this truck 10+ years and after spending $40Kish I dont want crap wrong.
Brother, I wish I could help. About 2 months ago I purchased nearly the exact same truck in the video just in Magnetic Grey and I've had absolutely 0 issues and just drove from San Fran to St. Louis and still no strange noises or anything- roughly 7600 miles now. I would seriously hound the crap out of Ford to ensure your brand new truck is exactly what you paid for.
@@sean-yb5hc It is at Ford right now. Dropped it off today. If nothing else I will have record of the issues. Still love the truck just want stuff covered if it ends up being a design flaw or faulty parts. My gut tells me the tyranny will be replaced under recall in a couple years.
I have the exact same truck as the video 18 5.0 fx4 and honestly it does sound a little funny but It runs fine so far I haven’t had any issues.
Now what I mean by funny is it sounds like it ticks. No knocking just a slight tick. I drove it off the lot with only 4 miles I’m now at 3400 and it sounds the same.
Until it actually gives me any problems or anything I’m not taking it in I assume the noise is normal.
Does the fx4 ride good for daily driving
It rides great in my opinion! I think it rides better than my 16' ram 1500 but it has gotten even better since I put the leveling kit on actually. Gas mileage is great for the 5.0 if u stay under 65 highway, above that it goes to around 18ish combined going 75highway.

Only complaint I have is the grill. Should be color matched when you get sport package. You have to get the lariat for that. If they wanted to separate them then at least make the grill black or something the grey is like a sore thumb. Otherwise I love it.

The auto/start stop will definitely save you gas if you are stopped for more than 7-10 seconds (not an exact science, depends on the vehicle). But if you are stopped for less than 7 seconds, then the start/stop will actually cost you more gas since starting the engine burns extra gas.
7-10 sec is not accurate, awhile back the actual study was posted on the forum. They tested in New York city...and it was between 1-11%, sorry but it's a waste
@@WICKEDAUTO1 the TH-camr "Engineering Explained" did a test on this and he found it it wàs around 7 seconds. But his test was in a garage, not driving around. So maybe he was wrong.

Have you noticed any oil consumption problems? I’m on my second 5 litre replacement in my 2018 and it burns oil as bad as the first one. First one was replaced at 20,000 miles after complaining about it from day one. The replacement motor burned oil from day one and now has 16,000 miles and still burning about a quart every 1000 miles. Love the truck but totally disgusted with the oil burning

I have a 2018 5.0, it uses 1/2 quart between oil changes. It has never got to a quart low.

Yep I have the rattle, no tick tho. Apparently there is an update for it to fix the rattle.
@@WICKEDAUTO1 I have a 2018 Mustang GT. I'm sick and tired of the rattle and the tick that comes and goes. I've had 2 dealers tell me the rattle is normal. Ford really screwed us gen III 5.0 adopters.
And I've heard that quite a bit from others but it cant be normal if they put out a fix for it. Like they are so dumb for that. So u know if it's in the shop more than like 35days I believe u can put in for a buy back.
@@WICKEDAUTO1 yeah so far I have 2 weeks in the shop with an appointment on Jan 7th to bring it in again. I opened a case with Ford and want the bores scoped. I did my first oil change at 4908 miles and found silver and copper colored flakes in the filter.
I really cant wait to get mine in next week. I'll now be checking my oil filter! That alone should be enough for them to tear it down!

The 400 lb of torque the 2.7 makes is all in at a low 2750, the five oh has to wind up to 4000 rpm to get to its max. Low end torque is what you want and need in a truck, not winding up an engine that was designed for a car like the five oh is made for.
The five oh is a slug off the line and the 2.7 is a faster truck

Yes you either need the special edition or sport interior to have it but u do not have to build with the exterior sport appearance since mine is not. Mine is 302a which on ford is the chrome package. So you pay for that but get the sport appearance if you choose the sport interior.

WickedF150 it automatically selects the sport appearance package at a discounted rate (300 bucks) for both the 2019 and 2018 models when you have the 302A selected and you choose the ‘Unique Sport Coth’ interior. Not to mention you have the wheels that come with the sport appearance package haha
