- In this video, we did a quick weekend trip to Copenhagen, Denmark for a surprise birthday trip for Krista! This was our first trip to Copenhagen and even though we were only there for 2.5 days, we did our best to visit and eat as much as we could and jam pack our itinerary!
👋 A B O U T 👋
We’re Preston & Krista, two people who love to travel, eat, and create memorable experiences. So far on our channel we’ve mainly created travel videos documenting our adventures in various places around the world (Hawaii, Texas, Norway, Aruba, South Korea) and closer to our current and previous home bases of Washington D.C and New York City. We try our best to capture new experiences whether it’s visiting new places, trying new food dishes, or learning about new topics. Now, we are also going to VLOG about our daily lives and attempt to share more about our personal lives and history too! Hope you enjoy and thank you for subscribing and following along on our journey!

I very interesting video also for the danes - because this was NOT a budget tour 🙂 So also the danes can see what to expect in "Geranium" :-) For the prices - yes it´s not cheap i Copenhagen - but remember your "donation" was buying while exploring. The tax you constributed while buying, is the basics of the overall idea of giving back free stuff. As you mentioned. Free toilets, and free Copenhill. Well nothing is free, but because of taxes on services, goods and general income in Denmark we can offer a clean enviroment, services, free education and healthcare etc. for all who wants to enjoy to live or just visit our country! 🙂
If I computed the bill correctly, that meal cost them around US $1100.
Next time visit La Glace. It's an old coffee and cake place just off of Strøget. It has somr amazing cakes.
Reffen and paper island is also famous for street food places.
You should come back during summer, the town is so different.
There are apps for taxis and it’s not pre uber here, it’s post uber - uber was here but they left. But I guess if you mean pre-uber in the states with pretty much only taxis then yes. But then again we have public transportation. It’s actually more than twice as fast to take the subway to the city centre than a taxi.
If you ever return to CopenHill, I can really recommend taking the elevator up and walking down. The elevator shows the inside of the waste facility plant, and that in itself is something very special. And then you should check out Reffen street food market afterwards (or before depending on what makes sense). It is a perfect pairing. Also, rent some bikes. It makes a lot of sense for this trip.
Awesome weekend in Copenhagen, Denmark! Loved your 20 things to do itinerary. Thanks for sharing! 👍😊
Copenhagen does look lovely.
Maybe visit Copenhagen in the summer, it's a totally vibrant city, with people swimming in the harbour and cool summer vibes everywhere
late spring, summer or early autumn, a walk on the starshaped mound at kastellet/ the citadel is amazing
Nice video Preston and Krista - Copenhagen looks amazing
Greetings from one of the locals 😊 . Great VLOG 👍. You got most of it right 😀 ! Please don't say that our Hotdogs are like American ones (that's just offensive 😒and I've had my share of US Hotdogs 😆) ! It's like me claiming that Bagels in CPH are like the ones in the US and NYC. We know our bagels are no where near to US and NYC standards 😔 ! But it's all in good fun and I really hope that you gave Krista a good B-Day ❤. Fun fact! Hotel Villa used to be the national HQ for the Danish Postal Service. That's why it's right next door to the central station. Makes sense right 😊 ? Every Taxi Company here, has an APP. Works like UBER 😊 !
BTW! Denmark is a super safe place unless you're a bike😔! All bikes here are born with a lock. They have to be, for insurance. The locks are small, and attached to the back, so to lock the rear wheel 😁! Your not the first, nor will you be last visitor's to make the non-lock assumption😄 !
UBER is not in DK, for tax evasion reasons. There are APP's for taxis, that work the same way as UBER ! I prefere "Taxa 4x35" . It works really well, also in English. Your CAB will usually be there within 2-7 minutes. But most CAB companies have equal APP's. Be Warned though! CAB's are expensive. Some companies you pay by mileage, some by time. You won't be scammed by the Metre, but maybe by the route! So if you know where you wanna go. punch the start and end address into Google Maps! Most "Cabbies" here are honest and wouldn't cheat you!
Yeah... November to March is like the worst period to go to Copenhagen. Unless you like windy, rainy and cold weather. 😂😂
I would assume visiting during Christmas season--owing the Danes' knack for design/decoration--would greatly mitigate the dark and cold. If not that, perhaps the tremendous settings for ice skating and cross country skiing.
We are off to Copenhagen this summer. Can you remember the name of the ramen place? Thank you 🙏
Well done - good tempo, editing, content and music - thanks for posting !
I gotta disagree on the music used for the Design Museum bit, that music I found to the terrible and I had to mute the sound. And just in general, mostly the real audio rather than some stock music is just preferable.
Next time you are in Copenhagen, you must go to" La glace" a very old renowned patisserie.
a beautiful city chosen for relaxation ❤❤❤
in Copenhagen a bus,s-ttrain or metro (subway) ticket cost the same and the ticket is valid in all 3 transport options
The next time you could just take the Øresund train directly from the airport to the central station.
Hans Christian Andersen lived in Nyhavn 20 and he wrote his first fairytales there.
Most, if not all bikes are indeed locked. Just hard to see. (Top part under the saddle). Bikes are quite often stolen in Copenhagen. Very often.
This was great. I have always considered Stockholm and Oslo as the two obvious "must see" destinations in Scandinavia and the Nordics, besides other capitals in a Euro trip. I see that Copenhagen can also be worth a visit. Thanks☺
If you go to Norway then Oslo is not worth it... Probably the most boring capital of all the scandinavian countries in my opinion.
Copenhagen is the capital of the Nordic region recognized by most Scandinavians 🤗
I will also say that Copenhagen is much nicer than the other Scandinavian capitals.
There is soooo much history here almost all of which you missed, it's almost all within walking distance of any city centre hotel, illiminating any need for taxies or übers. Born and bred in Copenhagen, I would love to point you to a few of those. Kastellet being one within walking distance of Amalienborg, the Royal residence, within walking distance of the Gefion fountain and the little mermaid. Obviously Tivoli is wonderful, and if Geranium"s prices did not terrify you, you might enjoy one of the oldest amusement parks still around. Really enjoyed your video, thank you for taking me round a city I love but never see anymore. Hope you enjoyed yourselves ♥️ from Copenhagen 🇩🇰
Excellent vlog, fun to watch as Dane living in the US. I believe the Taxi company does have an app.
What month did you travel in? I'm planning a trip to cph and have been trying to sort out how cold to expect
A cold Carlsberg, at any Pub/Bar is always a good way to end the day ;)
Remember to get a Snaps with your pickeled harring Smørrebrød ;)
Hello, really enjoyed the video. Curious what sort of camera equipment you used, shot it on, etc? And what app / software you used edited it on? I subscribed and will share with others. Well done! Thank you 🙏
🙏
Does anyone know? I’m not hearing back. Thank you
Geranium: take metro line 3 get of at Trianglen walk 3 mins.
Use of public transport are included in the copenhagen card.
We love you both.
There are Taxi apps, but each company have their own. Dantaxi is the only one covering the whole of Denmark. Uber is not allowed, as a Taxi driver needs to take a Taxi-education and pass several criminal checks.
Copenhagen my dream City😂so so o ❤ing
WOW.. you guys are beutyfull
Next time you should ask someone what the taxi-app is called, because without it it will take you forever to get one. There is a few apps to chose from. We did have UBER back when it was new. But they chose to ban it after a while. I think because we have strict rules for who can take the responsibility for driving people around. And of cause all the tax-rules.
Whatup, Jimmy O. Yang! 👋
It’s not called a Danish, it’s a winnerbrød “Winnabread” because it’s from Vienna!
A danish is called Spandauer in Denmark
❤
What month did you go?
Everything in Denmark is electronic. The country is far ahead of countries, like the US. For example, most danes can do their yearly taxes, in less than ½ hour.
So of course you can also find a taxi app. We don't have Uber here, and never will. Denmark has strict rules, for driving with passengers for profit. You need a special driver's license, to drive a taxi, bus or passenger train.
👍👏
Juno...a turisttrap!
As a dane I can only say, that thet are REALLY expensive
Denmark is a best country for living.
STOP all of the bikes are locked. In Copenhagen bikes get steeled a lot. Got 3 bikes stolen in a year. Lock your bike, people
Pastry? What the hell? You have to buy hot dogs. The best in the world.
I think the reason why they don’t have taxis is they are cutting down on cars in the city and the fact that most people walk or ride bikes.
I wonder if you have already broken up by now, because despite the guys amazing efforts to please, the girl's face kept being sour all the time.
Still need to wear a mask there in 2023?
No, there are no restrictions anymore.
way too long
1) Copenhagen is the MOST overrated city on the planet. Very boring, and food is way overhyped.
2) Copenhagen is the MOST expensive city on the plant. Not worth it. Nothing unique or exciting here. Your hotel is $800 US PER NIGHT. Stupid.
3) Do Copenhagen once and never go back.
LOL I bet you never even been to Copenhagen.
I going to copenhagen this summer and get hotel 3days for less than $400 US total, no1 force you to pick the most expensive room/hotel
usa has the shittiest poisoner food and everything overrater and expensive. only good thing about usa is nature and high checks.
...❤, 🩷, 💖 / 💖, 🩷, ❤ / 😊...!!
she looks so uncomfortable around him....is he paying her?
