First scotch wax seal I ever opened, the cork disintegrated. It was an Aberlour Abunadh. I ended up decanting it as the cork was huge and I had no replacement for it. Btw, when you pulled out the soda I thought, naw he’s joking. Then I thought, nope, he did it. Good one.

Heart stopped for a moment when I seen the coke go in the glass before a first sip lol! Great review and totally agree with bottle flipping it does deter the drinker away and people that want to try and share that whisky can’t because the price goes up ten fold.

You really need to do your research and read the old manuscripts from times passed. Its all about the correct technique and smashing the bottles is a real problem for most when opening bottles, thats why they don't do it! 🤔🤣 Cheers John
I’m lucky enough to own this bottle. Managed to bag one for £160. Right place, right time. It will be interesting to hear your thoughts once you get to know it better. I’ve heard great things. This cask being the personal favourite of Francis as well. I hope to enjoy my bottle in the future. However, being on a limited budget with a young family, the secondary prices do certainly make for interesting reading. At the end of the day, I can buy a lot of whisky for £600-£800. Undecided. Ultimately if I was to sell it, I would be robbing myself of the opportunity to try an amazing unicorn whisky. 👍🏻
Its a tough one! Everyone is in different situations and I could understand at the temptation to sell but then did you need to buy it in the first place? Makes sense you can then buy more whisky and get your £160 back. Its such a hard topic! All I know from what I've had so far (about 4 drams now) is that it is amazing! Its such a complex whisky with the sherry marrying perfectly with the Daftmill character. Cheers for the input, good to understand other's thoughts on it.

I couldn't believe when I was at SWA and saw someone (pretty much) unpack a whisky from original P&P and put the whisky into auction. Its great whisky and definitely needs to be drunk rather than sold!

Thanks for finding me :D The Kilkerran Batch 2 is lovely but I do prefer the Batch 1 and have yet to try Batch 3. I would say try the Tomatin Legacy (Dualchas) it is a good reasonably priced sample of what Toamtin has to offer. Cheers
