Les here. Just subscribed. Hi mate. Yes I was down the end at Ninan. I’ve got a kings 240 wats duel panel. My 5 th in 2 1/2 years. I’m getting 14. 5 volts at my battery on a cloudy day at times. My lowest would be around 13.4. Volts .I’d take it back if you are not happy. I do. I’m at the gap ATM if you are still in the area. 👍🇦🇺

Hey Les. My mate with the ute loves Kings and as one can see has everything Kings. So far he hasn't had any issues with them. Another mate who lives full time on the road is trying a 300 Ah Kings battery and he is happy so far as well.
I have had some Kings products may years ago which failed and got a full refund. I will say Kings refund process was realy good.
I do need to sort out some panels for the roof of my little caravan, debating Kings or maybe giving iTechworld a go ??
We pull out of here (Lake Ninan) tomorrow, heading for home.

Lovely ep and setups gents, I have a few Kings things and they work great, I also just fitted to the roof rack of my 80 series a 540 watt 45 volt Jinko Tiger pro solar panel it puts out around 33 amps with my 40 amp Mppt Kickass solar controller

It seems as if Kings have lifted their game a little with the quality of their products, I guess time with tell to see their longevity.

@@TheSimpleLivingAussie Yes I have a 50lt chest freezer, a Double thumper compressor, a jump starter pack, a 12 volt oven, all been Up the Cape twice , the Gibb River road the Tanami and plenty, once been good so far,

I had an 80w panel fail to 50w and a 20w panel drop it's max voltage. Will look at them soon. Those solar power meters and clamp on current meters are useful for diagnosing panel issues

Another great video again is that the same place you had a video riding your motor bike .Regarding kings products it seems they are a bit of a hit and a miss, your mate with the 2kv generator was a hit your 3kv generator was a miss keep up the good work your videos are excellent looking forward to the next one

My mate in his motorhome still has his Kings 2K generator. He will be over my way in a few weeks, I am gonna redo his solar controllers, putting in two Victron's controllers.
Yes the same place I had my dirt bike. I took it for a ride around the lake and got covered in mud. I have been camping out at Like Ninan for 20 years. Back then you mostly had the place to yourselves but now, it is always packed with caravans.

Hi Glen, I'm looking at either a Renogy or Victron shunt for my battery box. The Renogy is about $10 cheaper than the the Victron 300amp. My question is; do you prefer to have the LCD display of the Renogy which looks like its sometimes harder to see or use the Victron app. I'd appreciate your thoughts.
NB: I run a 500 victron shunt in the caravan. The battery box is for the fridge in the SUV.

      @TheSimpleLivingAussie  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

I have the Victron 712 shunt with the meter as seen in the caravan and you can see the info from both a screen and the Victron App.
The battery box I put in the Renogy shunt, mainly because my mate had one in stock in his work ute when we were out camping in Julimar last weekend, I did a video on it. We put the Renogy shunt in the iTechworld box seeming he had the shunt with him.
At home I run the Victron Smart shunt on my 48 volt system that runs my cabin. That shunt is hooked into the Victron Cerbo GX which can be monitored remotely.
In my opinion for a battery box or even a caravan, I would go Victron shunt with the meter. That way you can see the info direct on the battery box when it is sitting on the camp table and if the battery box is put in a place where it is hard to access, you can use the app to see the info.

@@TheSimpleLivingAussie Thanks for that Glen, the Victron wins again. I'll place the order tonight. Plus I have the app loaded for the 240-12v charger, MPPT controller and existing shunt.
NB: I worked out Wongan way in the 80's

theyre kinda ok depending on the product , freinds huge lithium kings batteries died hes off grid he bought everything required from them to properly charge them etc , my brother and his mate had kings portable fridges, did not last even 2 weeks before going into limp mode , the compressors rattle like crazy ,like the compressor is having an epileptic fit and are on and off like a yoyo never seen anything like it , they were kept inside the houses only no obstructions to cooling vents , to be used only as drinks fridges.
no doubt they sell some reasonable stuff, but ill never buy from them.
its ok if you live in the city, its not far to take back the product under warranty but if you live hundreds of kms away its just not worth it.
we eventually bought near new engels what a difference zero issues .
im a cheapskate so i dont by anything new i hunt for near new or new and unused higher quality .
i have offgrid inverters i bought 13 years ago still running fine zero issues.
you can buy high quality used solar systems for peanuts, freind has 20kw of panels in remote QLD cost under $2000, by early morning his battery bank is charged.
you can do it cheap and get really robust equipment , just takes alot more time and effort.

I have had Kings gear in the past which failed early so I am skeptical but don't mind giving them a crack again. So far with the Lithium batteries I have put them through over 5 months of daily heavy discharge testing which I have the video on my channel and they have preformed flawlessly. Now I have moved them into the caravan and battery box, we see how they hold up.
For my cabin which needs reliable power I use the good stuff. Victron inverters, Charge controllers and monitors and for the Lithium batteries I use Amptron.

Kings have worse products, even worse customer service, worse refund policy in Dandenong store. Their so called MPPT is overpriced and dangerous as per some online video reviews.

Will have to have a look at the reviews / testing on the Kings controller my mate uses and see the issues. I personally don't use Kings controllers, I like to stick to quality when it comes to charge controllers.
I do have a few Kings products I am testing and so far so go with the exception of a generator that blow up after 20 hours. I called Kings and the refund process was flawless, had no issues at all and got a full refund.
