I am so happy to see Giacomo being given a chance to shine. I thought he and Marianna did amazingly well considering this was their first time dancing together. Such talent coming up through the company! You can already see that Aidan is going to be brilliant as Drosselmeyer - he has so much charisma! Great coaching from Gary Avis, and wonderful piano-playing - as always - from Kate Shipway. I LOVE these Insights.
This is one of my favorite pas de deux. I’m so glad they are working on this on insights. So nice to see the next generation of RB dancers coming to the fore.
These two dance beautifully together, lovely lines, they look so graceful and move in unison - wonderful expression, exceptionally good for their first practice together! How I wish I could see them perform live in this lovely partnership!❤❤❤
Gosh! Those two were simply fabulous! What a debut they will have. By the end of the pas de deux I was in tears and cheering! You could see the, reaching to respond to every word Gary said. What a delightful treat!
Thank you so much for doing this ROH as these programs are so helpful to people, like me, who live far away. I was fortunate enough to be in London a few days ago and saw Don Q and the Dante Project, and it's wonderful to see the prep for Nutcracker. Congrats to all the dancers, and of course, Gary Avis, as well as Kate.
I'm appreciating that the RB is giving young upcoming dancers a crack at character roles - in Don Q too. It's great for their all-round development and gives us a chance to see who has potential not just as a dancer but also as a senior character artist. Aidan has a lot of presence in this role.
they have a deep group. Viola Pantuso was amazing in this role- and they are really good at giving chances to the younger ones without passing by the more experienced dancers- so wish other companies could do this. ABT just buries their young stars in the corps, so sad
Jack! Woo! That was a lot. Good for you, Jack! Marianna, good to see you in this role! Really attack the pique, jété turn sequence! I know you’re tired by that point but find the breath and go for it and keep that back leg straight! It’s bending just a bit. Practice jumping at home! Merde on your debuts! Love to see it! Love these rehearsal sequences! The coach and pianist are awesome! And the host is super calm lol. Great energy all around! 🔥❤️👍🏾
Beautiful! So happy to see the rehearsal of the transformation into battle scene it’s always been one of my all time favorite scenes of The Nutcracker! I grew up as a mouse in the ballet 😊😊
I want to play, Drosselmeyer! Mwahhahahaa. Aidan is excellent, he captures the character’s Spirit and energy very well! That cape is GLORIOUS. And somehow ominous. That magician is creepy lol. In the best way, though! Haha Gary, You kill the role. I can already tell! Find moments of stillness, I was gonna say exactly that! Really great advice, Gary! 👍🏾What a great organization this is! I love to see it! Kate and her partner are fabulous! Me: turn that page, brother!! Lol happy holidays! 🔥❤️
Giacomo is simply glorious. Marianna immediately understood it and connected to him perfectly proving herself to be an humble hence intelligent young ballerina. So she's just one step from being glorious too 🙃
Hope that this 2024, you would make the original Nutcracker versión from 1984, inviting also Miss Leslie Collier and Mr. Anthony Dowell to be part of the cast. That would be wonderful. Hope you like this idea.

I love Gary’s commentary his years of experience shines through but is still so supportive

Perhaps they could be put together more often.

Kate Shipway’s Piano playing is incredible 👏
Truly wonderful to watch these rehearsals especially Gary Avis guiding these young dancers ❤
Talented dancers and directors and the pianist is amazing!
So excited to see Marianna as Clara, she is wonderful!
she indeed is, she even looks just innocent enough, not quite an adult but neither a child, as i think Clara should be.
She had me in the first eight bars. She's exceptional.

Jesus, his lines are impeccable ❤ She is a Goddess ❤
Wow Marianna really flies! She seems to linger in the air. So excited to see her in this role and to get more of a sense of who she is as a soloist.
I am impressed with this ballerina that I see for the first time. She's amazing.

I FINALLY MANAGED TO COME TO A LIVE BALLET REHEARSAL!!❤❤❤
I wonder what magic lies today??
Giacomo is simply glorious. Marianna immediately understood it and connected to him perfectly proving herself to be an humble hence intelligent young ballerina. So she's just one step from being glorious too 🙃
I love how he rips the neck of his t-shirt!
And I've watched Giacomo come up through the ranks from a mop-haired youngster to now the Prince!😊
