    There is a mop only function in the cleaning mode settings. I’ve found it works surprisingly well for general mopping. I’ll pray the floor beforehand in areas of extreme spills. I’m quite happy with mine. Thanks for the video. It helped me decide to get one.

  • @zenzen7031
    @zenzen7031 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Yes it does have a mopping option in the clean up mode. It is situated above the Quiet mode. The mopping pattern is different. It becomes diagonal to the room. Perhaps at the time of your review the app had not been updated. Have a look now though, you will see that the mopping mode is there. It asks you to put the mopping module into the machine in advance. I thought this may have meant an extra module to the app but it is not. It means just to put the mopping accessory into the roborock itself. It is a great function. Does my floors well in between big mopping sessions.

      What's the point in adding soap to the water? Once the water dries you're just gonna have a bunch of soap residue on your floor. The point of the mop is to catch any last bit of fine dust the regular vacuum can't get. Your best option would be to add a little bit of bleach to the water to disinfect your floors as it drives along.

      The mop is just an attachment.. the robot cannot control anything on the mop module. It will just clean as usual even though map is attached. There is mopping cleaning mode. Its only slows down the suction but im not sure whether got different cleaning pattern.. to avoid rugs, u can add no go zone for area that have carpet or use zoned cleanup, but first u need to enable map saving and run auto clean first to map ur home. once map is ready and saved, u can add the nogo zone or barrier tape (vir wall).

      If you chose the 'balanced' in cleaning mode in your app it detects when to do a deeper clean on carpets. I have found that when it detects carpet the mop seems to turn off, though it does leave the edge of the carpet as it detects it a little damp. This doesn't worry me as it's dry in a few minutes anyway and not damp enough to cause a vacuum problem. You should try it in a inconspicuous area first though.

    Questions:
    1. Is the Vacuum going backwards when you mop? If so, that's smart, it's vacuuming just before it mops.
    2. How does it work on areas with carpet and floors? Does it detect carpets automatically? If no, how can you avoid it from mopping the carpet?
    3. Can you use floor-cleaning detergent in the water tank?

    • @CordlessVacuumGuide
      @CordlessVacuumGuide  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      1. No it actually goes in the same direction regardless if it's mopping or vacuuming.
      2. Nope the mop will not detect carpet so if you're mopping an are with carpet, you'll have to physically block the path of the robot. Or use the app to tell the robot what area to mop - but that can be a bit tricky since the app only allows you to set areas in blocks.
      3. I would not recommend that. What I would do is soak the mop in the cleaning detergent and put pure water in the tank.

    • @ozanpamirkurt4319
      @ozanpamirkurt4319 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @jirr9459 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. In app exist mode just fot MOP. Maybe there is different pattern for cleaning. I never test it. I just use without MOP.
      2. For avoiding carpet arrea but with mop you need use zone cleaning. I heard sometimes can RoboRock stack on the edge of carpet.
      3. As I know, there is very small holes for making mop wet, but if you add some detergent, who knows if this watter will fully and good wet mop.
      And for info, 1st generation doesn't support zone cleaning. And in 2nd right now is MAP SAVING function (just in DEMO phase) where your map will be fixed and you can use virtual wall and no-zone zone, which will avoid thid area.

      Media Info wet the mop cloth manually under tap water before you start mopping.

      That's what I do with my first model tho ahaha. If you need to manually wet, there's no need to buy the new model and spending extra money. You can literally buy the cheaper, excellent, first model, put adhesive velcro under it, attach a semi circle mop under it, wet it manually and profit. There's a Russian video explaining/showing how to do it.

      you have to wet the mop to start capillary action - then it sucks water from the tank slowly as it dries.

      Hmmmm, Media info......Roll up your rugs before you start the cleaner? Its not that hard. Next you will be saying "oh I don't like it because it doesn't fly up to the ceilings to get the cobwebs"!!

    So far so good with this vacuum. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.

    I bought my s5 less than a month ago and im having issues with the moping setting. I put water in the tank and make sure that the mop is wet before I run it, but the mop is dry everytime I run it even in a small area. It seems that there is no water coming out of the water tank. What could be the problem?
