thank you Chester , I don't mind the look of a super , it's the feel of driving one I don't care for . A German Look 200hp super with 17" sticky porsche wheels and suspension mods though could find a home in my garage .
I always wanted a buggy and in 2019 I bought 2! Ones a 1968 and the other a rolling project 65 that I wanted to hop up with a huge motor and make a street buggy out of it. Both are the same bodies made by Allied. The 68 is the most fun we've ever had with 50hp, haha. And Happy 4th to you and the fam!
Excellent video Jason :) I remember lots T Cup & T Buckets & Volkswagen Dune Buggies cars were hit in 1976 to 1996 years in my area going thru pits by permission by owners in country plus 4×4 vechiles in truck and jeeps plus homemade too! Was so cool a guy used know put 1978 Chevrolet Chevette of GM frame with 350 V8 4 barrel carb daul in front with Turbo 700SR 4speed Overdrive Automatic transmission with Shift Kit, truck axle 377 ratio made 5 seat full bench in back and 2 single buckets! Small compact compartment for car fuel tank so cool plus 15 inches truck tires on specific rims ! So wild and haven't seen since 1996 hear guy past away and sold it! But dash so cool plus had made homemade and plus radio in so fun plus was seat belts too!

I did just FINALLY buy a decent 1966 Corvair Monza hardtop, a car I have wanted for decades. With the 140 hp engine, it is every thing I hoped it would be, and wish I had bought one years ago... In Jen approved blue, too!

Dear 5150mxVW 👍👌👏 Yes, Sir, you are absolutely right to sell this frankensteined together pickup truck style kind of "Buggy". Engine seems great, BUT the car has no soft top, is not a 4 seater, definitely has not enough head clearance, the "truck bed" is not useable because not separated from the top of the engine and the ugly black muffler looks like a butt prolaps! This vehicle looks like as if the builder smoked too much weed or had scary nightmares after having built the "Buggy" from the front to behind the seats. Of course I nevertheless missed Josh while the test drive. I bet that he would've loved the engine respectively the acceleration. ;-) 2) I'm eagerly looking forward to watch a video about the gorgeous yellow bug cabriolet. I don't care if it is a so called super beetle or not. As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you.

I was thinking all sorts of terrible things, Jen taking the cheque book away stuff like that🤣 That looks like a 70's throw back, never been that keen on those. A Beetle usually has to die to build one. That oil filter is an accident waiting to happen, why didn't he put a shield on it? Anyway sorry for the negatively I do like the yellow Beetle though. That is a great car. 👍 Keep pushing cars around Jason.👍👍
Did the 2110 have a vac advance? I know my "71" 1641 with the 009 no vac lugged until I changed the distributor with vacuum advance and the engine performed much nicer in higher gears at lower speeds. Up hills and so on at slower mph's were with a lot less neck snapping Ha! Now to get the courage to fix the clutch tube mount half way down in the tunnel near the e-brake. Ya it is a body off restored in 2012 .....ARRGH. Please say prayers. Keep the great vids coming and thanks for all the work it takes.
J, I have to say that buggy is the first questionable VW purchase I’ve seen you make. Personally I think the prejudice in the VW world against Supers is bs. I love my 79 epilog.
I'm not feeling the beach buggy thing either. But there were some interesting kitcars. I particularly like the Fiberfab FT Bonito which was meant to look like a Ford GT40 racecar. A Very low sportscar that would really suit an engine like you have in that buggy.
Sorry it didn't work with the 55, but at least they took it out of the jungle and it won't deteriorate as fast. Who knows, they could come to their senses and still make a deal.
Personally I would rather have a Baja Bug. If you only had a spare engine, and a good floor pan, you might be able to put one together. On the plus side they are easy to get in and out of, and you can drive them in the rain.
My 66 Dune Buggy had the Gas tank in the front and I had to keep it Full to keep the weight on the Front Wheels , the issue is the Tank being in the Center! Or just add a couple 100 lbs to the Front!

I saw that car on fb market place not long ago lol, I ended up buying a 67 Hardtop Ghia from NJ. It still needs some work done on it.

Change out the steering wheel disconnect for a splined unit. Those hex couplers will pop off. We had quite a few fail in racing

Misfire? Seems like the jetting/mixture is way off. Also...serious concerns about how that oil filter is mounted. Seems very venerable!

I made an offer on the 55 and someone offered more and got it ...they are now selling , or trying to
run a supertrapp be quieter more bottom end like you need it LOL adjustable loudness to super low noise

Next time you try bump starting use the starter first and the bump to assist the starter a lot easier too you don’t need as much of a bump
That's a piss poor place for the oil filter. I can see it being rip off or someone loosing it.
