Small rivers and streams like the one you're fishing I enjoy fishing for trout from the fall to the spring here in CT. Slashing suspending jerkbaits and slow rising stickbaits while casting upstream is my favorite method.

This past out to opener was a rough one for us we placed 10th
I wasn't in the top 25
Jealous of the average size in your area - there is a stream here close to me in Southeast Michigan that has both rainbows and browns, but the average size is very small, probably about 5-6 inches. A couple years back I caught a 17 incher - still probably the most beautiful fish I have ever caught, but since then, I haven't seen one over 8 inches. The fish I caught is the one that is on my channel banner!
Time to travel. This particular video I was almost 2 hours from my home

This is one I bought from jays sporting goods. I don't know much about it other than it's three heaviest streamer they had
