At the end of the movie the woman holds her stomach suggesting she is having a second baby, then the movie shows 2 trophies on the mantle. I didn't realize it the first time I saw the movie, but it symbolizes the teaching from Job that God gives you back double.
Yes, He does. I prayed that I would be able to be a dad after my wife and I had several attempts and some miscarriages, and He not only gave me a son first, but He also gave me a daughter almost 2yrs later. 😊😊😊😊 they are now 11(son) and 9(daughter)
I am by no means an atheist but at the same time I don't agree with organized religions, but this week I have watched two movies with this same guy acring as the coach, both based on relationships with God, and I don't mind admitting both films moved me to tears.
I used to wonder why they never mentioned Jesus in this movie. But after it came out many years later that Noone in sports or entertainment is allowed to say his name without consequences. So it all makes sense now
This has been my favorite movie for years, and recently helped my family through a season of deep faith and trust in our powerful God. My dad, still young, had a major bout with his 3rd time with Covid. Without the vaccine, the hospitals refused to give him the treatment. And he was ready to give up after fighting, focusing to breathe. He was ready to go Home. But with Christ's glorious help, a Patient's Advocate (patient lawyer of sorts) got him out of the best hospital in the state to the only hospital in the nation to get the treatment he needed. He was transferred to this hospital after 6 weeks in the one before. His personal case worker assigned to him as the patient, said he was the only patient that left the covid unit alive. 2 weeks after being transferred to this new hospital he was ready to come home. Then the gallbladder caused more severe issues. And with his current condition, could have died then as well. Today he is home praising our Heavenly Savior for coming back to his earthly home. Praise His Name! For He keeps His promises! He is our comforter, provider, sustainer, and helper in our helpless state. His Love Never Fails! Nothing Is IMPOSSIBLE with God!!
Every time i watch this movie, this one part ALWAYS makes me tear up, because i remember when i found out BOTH times i was going to be a father; the joy and responsibility God allowed me to be a part of. I am forever grateful for that responsibility and experiencing and continuing to experience that joy of being a parent
Jesus Christ is good even if good things or bad things happen to our life, it is all about His plan. That is not accident everything happens for a reason so if you are upset, just remember Jesus gives you back what you were willing to give up.
I thank God for this film and for all the encouraging and uplifting God exalting films the Kendrick brothers and church have produced. With God all things are possible! God bless, Joshua.
I can't ever watch this movie, specifically the ending, without crying my eyes out. It is such an amazing movie with a myriad of lessons to learn along the way.
The part when Brooks said the Day is not over yet and then tells him that he made the daddy team get Me every single the part you tell me Coach Taylor tell me whats impossible when god on your side.
10 years of waiting pregnant 🤰 twins girl and boy, at 54 years young, can anyone tell me what is impossible for God, dont let the world, define you, the voice of truth tells me a different story. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD.
He did it for me. 7 years of infertility and one month after we quit trying, I found out I was pregnant. Today we have an awesome son who is the greatest blessing ever.
This really happened in Southwest Georgia. Grant found the Lord through Coach Mark Richt who found the Lord Through Bobby Bowden after his first National Championship in 1993. You pass it along!!
I'm praying that The Lord will make me a member of the daddy club someday. My wife and I have been trying for a baby for so long. In the Name of Jesus! Lord nothing is impossible with you.
I just now got a call from my son and beautiful daughter in law to tell us she is pregnant. They have tried hard for a few years with some failures. GOD IS GREAT and nothing is impossible with HIM.
You guys should watch their outtakes for their movies. As amazing as the movies are, it shows that even in honoring God, it is perfectly fine to mess around and have a bit of fun. They are HILARIOUS. One example is when in Fireproof, Kirk Cameron's character is breaking down over the Love Dare, Coach Grant Taylor comes in and motivates him a. La Death Crawl style 😂. Another is from Courageous, Ken Bevels weapon gets stuck when they are rehearsing the shootout scene
I absolutely love this movie. My husband and I have been trying for a lil over 14 years to have a baby now and it still hasn't happened, BUT with God ALL things are possible! I'm still believing.
Yes, with God ALL things are possible. My wife and I will be praying that He will bless your lives with a child or even a herd of them to His honor and glory. AMEN.
As a Reformed Christian, I’d like to ask those who adore this movie; You realize that “overcoming your obstacles in life/ your giants” is not the message of 1 Samuel 17?
When stating your opposing view, please tell us what you embrace as the meaning of 1 Samuel 17 as it relates to this movie. Stating half your thought is insufficient for a valid discussion. Thank you.
@@johnbariou7352 That’s fair enough; if you have a different position I respect it, but here it is: 1 Samuel 17, the familiar account of David and Goliath; He’s the young, small shepherd boy, Goliath is the giant of the Philistines, through the sovereign strength of God, David slays Goliath to the amazement of everyone (in a nutshell). The message in this historical account is God’s will and using fallen men to accomplish His sovereign will, protecting His chosen people, and displaying that true strength is not what the world defines as such (Jeremiah 9:23-24). The message and meaning of this story was not that any problem too big we face can be overcome with prayer and determination. That seems to be a recurring theme in each and every Sherwood film; muted undertones of the prosperity gospel. I AM NOT saying, nor would I ever, put the Kendrick brothers in the same category of say, Kenneth Copeland or Benny Hinn. They’re not like that at all. But there is most certainly a recurring theme in their films: Central figure is facing a crisis. Figure prays. God answers prayer in very short amount of time. Flywheel: Avoids foreclosure and sells all his cars. Facing the Giants: Finally become pregnant, win the championship game, get a raise. Added to this are the filmmakers poor discernment with continued partnering with false teachers such as Priscilla Shirer and Beth Moore. I am certainly a free speech person and would never prevent them from continuing to produce movies, albeit I will say that movies are not an ideal way to share the Gospel. Lastly, I definitely think that these series of films’ horrendous acting gives ammunition for the opposing side to continue to mock Christianity and Christians.
Reformed Christian here, too. Totally agree. This movie preaches prosperity gospel... believe in God, He gives you what you want. A false and dangerous gospel...
This is one of the most unrealistic movies in all of history. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING works out. Son apologizes to his Dad, Grant gets a brand new truck, an unlikely team with an unlikely kicker wins the state championship and his wife finally gets pregnant. Makes for a good movie but not close to a reflection of real life. It is what we would all like life to be as opposed to what life actually is.
HMMMmmmm.... I just watched this scene on BluRay to fact-check it. In the higher resolution, the verse reference is indeed CORRECT as Matthew 19:26. I suspect it's the lower resolution of my TH-cam clip that distorts the reference to appear as though the chapter is in error as "14". The film's production is accurate though. Good catch! Be blessed! John
I mean no disrespect to anyone, but it is true anything is possible when God is on your side! But the bottom line is if he wants to, if God doesn't want to then it doesn't matter how hard you try all your faith in God if it won't happen then it's not going to happen!! I know that from my experience. (RUSH🙈🙉🙊)
Isn't counting the "wins" and ignoring the losses kind of myopic? In this movie God helps the coach keep his job and have children. The man is portrayed as blessed. What about the many devout Christian's who lose their jobs, who's children die in cancer wards etc. Were they on the "No" list? The examples could be repeated ad infinitum. I watched my sister die in the hospital with double pneumonia and she was a devout Christian, she was anointed and prayed over by devout wonderful Christian's. My sister still died at the age of 28 years old. You wouldn't believe the suffering I went through and questioning myself what I did wrong, why didn't God answer my prayers. What a waste of a life of a woman who was a great person. What was the master plan for my sister? Theodicy and Suffering is the hardest subject for Christian's. Sometimes I think of God as a Deistic God, distant and not involved and perhaps doesn't care...like a absentee parent. Then I listen to this song... read the lyrics: m.th-cam.com/video/1grhmdzoHrw/w-d-xo.html "God was Never on Your Side".
I am sorry for your loss. I lost a man who was like a big brother to me. And I was furious with God for a long time. Then a girlfriend I intended to marry broke up with me for seemingly no reason. My faith has been tested. God never promised an easy life as a Christian. But I still am one. because I have seen evidence of His mercy and grace. It is true you dont see things like this movie in every day life. But what do you have to lose by believing?
At the end of the movie the woman holds her stomach suggesting she is having a second baby, then the movie shows 2 trophies on the mantle. I didn't realize it the first time I saw the movie, but it symbolizes the teaching from Job that God gives you back double.
