- Having fun cruising and checking out a 1951 Pontiac Chieftain Catalina Super Deluxe Coupe. I filmed this classic car in Lewisville, Texas out of Garrett Classics showroom. Be sure to check them and myself out on Facebook. Thanks for following my TH-cam channel. Filmed in 4K UHD. I work with classic cars, muscle cars, pre-war, exotics, luxury cars and more. Thank you kindly!
Beautiful car. I remember those chief hood ornaments... they had lights in them.
Jade green is such a fine color. A real Pontiac. It built excitement.

Indeed. Appreciate you watching & commenting, Anant
I was lucky enough to own a 51 back in my younger days. It was garaged kept throughout its time by myself and my grandfather. I had it through 1990 before I let it go. It was an attention getter every time I took it out. It was all original including the paint. It sat two years due to illness by my grandfather. I put a new battery in it, changed the oil, and it fired up on the second try. Straight 6 with a column shift, no turn signals. Clock and radio still worked when I sold it. Wish I never let it go, but due to moving without much notice I had no choice. I hope who I sold it to still has it on the road. It was in the family 39 years, and garaged kept the entire time we owned it.
I wonder where it is today. What color was it? Thanks for sharing Robert, wish you could reunite
Good to honor Chief Pontiac. He must have been a good leader. Love that green color.
Great comment Alan, really appreciate your viewership.
Awesome. You nailed this buddy with the soundtrack, editing, etc. How about that hood ornament! Oh, beautiful car and great work too 👍👍
Man that was a cool one. Sold of course
RIP Pontiac Car Division. Built some great cars
So true Paul
Wow! That things of beauty, just needs to be bagged Cali Style
I have one of these. It sat sinking behind a barn for 40 years when me and my dad got it. We turned it into a tire shredding, big block powered monster that almost dismantled itself from the torque. It's not in the best shape, but I helped my dad build it. This is the one car I will never get rid of. One day I might get to restore it and make it what it once was... With a big block of course.
I just don't know what to say other than blew my mind Pontiac always turns heads old Pontiac man here from Bedford county Virginia thank you for showing us this car master piece
Yes sir, lot of fun. I use to make these videos to help market and sell the old cars
Beautiful, beautiful car when cars were made with passion and style !
🙂👏
So Beautiful and all original . Just the way I LOVE old cars Not lowered thank goodness
Joe McCarthy nothing wrong with lowered cars stop hating. Most of the lowered cars you speak Ill of are actually in better shape than this car
@@ethanrios1010 Read Joe's post again. He didn't mention anything about hating lowered cars.He likes them original and not lowered. He didn't speak ill of anything.
Thanks Joe
Love em botj
i love this model so much...

CHIEF PONTIAC HEAVY DUTY ALL THE WAY TO THE FRIGGIN MAX 💯♥️👍 THANK YOU FOR SHARING

I remember when these were new.......so cool!! I only wish that there had been a night shot of the hood ornament. IT WAS INTERNALLY LIGHTED🥰!!!!
Thanks Ed
Well done. No outrageous music, nicely shot video and nice car.
Kevin Owen thank you!
What soundtrack is that? Sounds like TV. Maybe Hawaii 5-0 incidental?
Love the split windshield and visor! Style and class. 👍
Thanks George for your viewership
I had a 51 light green Sedan. Interior dash identical. I had a 50 2 door coupe in navy. That was a straight 6 Love those cars. One of GMs greatest decades.
I've heard that the straight-six and stick-shift combination offered decent performance for the time; can anyone confirm? How common is it to find a car with such a setup and about how much do they go for?
Absolutely 👍 💯
Outrageous ornaments, never heard of this car but way cool.
A gorgeous work of art!
Thank you very much!
Two-door hardtops were so cool. I had a '52 Dodge hardtop.
Very beautiful vehicle. I would love to own this vehicle.
You'd look good in it too, Lance 👍
@@samspace81 A dog would look good in that car.

Yes 💯
Nice car, excellent video !!!
Thank you! 👍
Sharp looking 51. Nice camera work!
Thank you very much, it was. Appreciate you subscribing to the Samspace81 classic car channel
My dream car...
Great Pontiac
My late uncle had a similar period Pontiac I8. Always looking to save a nickle, he changed the cartridge oil filter to a FRANZ. As I recall the basic premise was the use of a roll of "toilet paper" unwound until it was a certain diameter and inserted into the filter container. Top off the container and paper with fresh oil, attach the cover and your good to go. Narragansett Bay
Good stuff, thanks for sharing!
Made the same year I was. Back when cars were cars, men were men and nobody wore seat belts. "When you got in an accident you went through the windshield....and we liked it" - Grumpy man from SNL
Appreciate you watching, thats funny!
Great job 👍.
Thank u
Nice looking car. Surprisingly, no narration to go with that. Jade green is very becoming.
Thanks Alan ✌️

Well a big fortune but well worth it congrats.

hello good afternoon, nice car, my father-in-law had one of these here in Brazil, only sedan, including the color and automatic transmission. I would like to know which instrument is the one that appears above the speedometer.
Greetings .
Appreciate you sharing, Yuri
Nice!!
Old Pontiacs were of better quality.
Great Poncho
That's a sexy car!!!
It is!
I'm restoring my 1950 Pontiac hardtop. Project, but it's getting there little by little. I made a short video of its progress. Hope sometime next year I'll have her running.
Love it will check it out
those was the days cars didn't dent so easy
Yes for sure, appreciate you watching & commenting, Onlythewise1
Bellos car
Thank you for watching, Rafael
Oldtimer cars have best quality, made for people by genius, repairable and not like scrap which produces now.
Cool designs
Somebody really likes their car! Lol
It it tops!
My father's '53 Chieftain had Hydramatic.
Wonderful
That's when a car turned heads, not like the plastic we got now.
Absolutely sir, thanks again Dave for supporting the Samspace81 classic car channel with your views & comments - SAM
you sure don't wanna get in that thing's way!
Ah hahaha 😆 nope
Dime ¿lo estas vendiendo en 2022?
No sir, this is several years old
nossa que carro lindo😨
Thanks so much for watching
I have 1952 Pontiac chieftain how does the door handle come off?
Hmm
Das 1953er Pontiac Coupe hatte ich, es führ sich tadellos.
Thanks for watching
THIS is great design. Modern cars soooo boring by comparison.
Couldn't agree more! Thanks for subscribing
Lovely car, and great restoration....BUT I owned one of those back in the day, and the automatic transmissions were HORRIBLE. If I were looking for one today (and I'm not) I would pick a standard shift.
Why so? Because they weren't reliable?
3 on the tree gets hung up, I'll take a slushbox anyday ha Thanks for watching
@@samspace81 ...opinions...everyone has one. "Three on the tree" doesn't get "hung up" if it is well maintained and operated as intended.
@@dennis885600 Those engines would go forever... The hydromatic did 60K if an owner was lucky.
@@jewishman2687 Oh jeez... luckily I don't own one, got a Merc O'matic myself wich handles the job quite well. But a friend of mine has a '55 Oldsmobile 88 with that gearbox I believe. Somtimes you end up with your face in the dashboard because of the way it shifts. Just thought it was a combination bad maintenance and high mileage.
Nossa que lindo Show
Thanks my friend
Was 49 the last year for the fast back
I believe so
Lindo carro
Thanks for watching, Cesar.
There's nothing like drinking one of these beautiful steele cars...NOTHING!
Very beautiful car. No custom it s nice! Thé custom is shit. Vous avez de très belles choses les américains mais parfois c est d un mauvais goût pour frimer! Superbe colour!
Had a 60 Catalina
Awesome! I saw one in Detroit, Michigan, 2018 during the Woodward Dream Cruise. Thanks for following Samspace81
Had a pair of 56es think this is better. The old ones used to carry the mail 72
Thanks Stephen, thats cool. Carry the mail?
@@samspace81 the mail man exclusively favored Pontiac auto and that was hi favorite saying
Thank you, I'd never heard that! Im 37, missed that saying :)
@@samspace81 that's OK when I got drafted I didn't know that there were 5 kinds of chicken. Was just a farm boy at heart. Our journey is never over keep learning each fact is a penny in the bank. good life om
