      Great! Just my two cents but I hope it's helpful. That 1991 Baldwin is a steal for $500 unless it has serious issues.

    I worked for a restaurant that had a couple of Yamaha c3s. Had a lot of fun on them but I prefer uprights and I'm just getting to the point in my life where I can afford to buy one. I'm very interested in using felts and cloths much like Nils Frahm and I think I've seen some of your videos using clothes over the strings. Anyway if I'm planning on using cloth would you recommend maybe a brighter piano to compensate the muted strings?

      I'd say you can always adjust the thickness of the felt or cloth for muting more easily than you can adjust the unmuted/natural tone on your piano. So if you like the brighter sound use a thicker mute, or use a thinner mute cloth for mellower pianos. I'd have to experiment on the individual piano myself. Best of luck.
