This is unique and excellent engineering! I have so many questions. I suppose the multiple square pattern creates a sturdy base for the weight on top? Btw do you have video or pics of one being used at a gig? I watched your other videos and it looks like those were all made out of plywood. This one looks like some sort of thick composite plastic boards.
Hi Brian, I haven't made any risers in a few years. It is what it is, they're all being used they all rock solid. Plywood's too expensive these days and it takes too long to make one affordable. I made all of them out of 5/8 exter B/C plywood unless people wanted to upgrade to 3/4 inch , but it was heavier, And more expensive. My biggest problem was trying to ship them.

@@kwizkid66 Thanks for the follow up! Is it painted with a gloss black, that’s giving it that composite plastic look?
@@BrianHarrisDrummer
No, I never used gloss, either a mat or a semi gloss
I routed all the corners and sanded it well! . it was a clean, clean riser
I play a pretty big kit. looking for a riser 8w x 6 deep . What is the cost ?
Fred Dulaney
what is this made out of? is it strong enough to hold a full drum kit and a drummer?
Great job well done
do the two pieces connect?
Looks like a decent product, but it also looks like an echo chamber for sympathetic resonance.
Interesting point .. I had to look that up. I suppose adding acoustic tile to minimize vibrations would reduce. / minimize. Correct?
How Much?
