@sonyavs455 I had to microwave longer than in the video. You just have to keep doing another 30 seconds until you get the right consistency. The problem might have been that I was using a double cream substitute and not the real thing. Making it on the stovetop gives a much more certain outcome.
If you do it in stages, or maybe turn the power down, it should be fine. Just found that there's a power setting on my microwave. (I've only had it for 20 years). 🤣🤣
@@MagentaOtterTravels I wasn't sure how to do it so I read the instruction manual. 😂😂 On mine, you press the power button. Then a number on the keypad. I did 7. Then pressed Time for 5.00 minutes.
I made another batch using 'fake' double cream. Elmlea Double. Microwaved on 70% power for 5 minutes. Repeat. Very runny. Tried 2 minutes on full power. Microwave didn't like that. Bubble, bubble toil and trouble. Few splatters out of the bowl. 2 more minutes at 70%. Looks more like clotted cream now. Freezer test looks ok. Will have to wait until it's been refrigerated for 4 hours to see if it's a success. Danger Will Robinson! ⚡Be careful. This fake double cream bubbles up violently when stirred. Take the advice from The Police. 🎶 Don't stand so close to me.
I have tried only once to make clotted cream in the microwave. Huge fail! LOL Well done you for making such a success of it!

@@Poliss95 yes, I figured I would have to do a lot of trial and error to make it right!
So, you think the stove top version tasted better than the microwave version?
They both taste equally as good.
Looks like it burned a bit on top around the edges?
It looks like it's burned but it isn't. That's just on the sides of the bowl.
I'm uncomfortable with not knowing exactly how long to nuke it... I think I'd overdo it 😬

@@Poliss95 I know there are different powers, but it's difficult to use!

I wonder if this would work with our pasteurized cream here in the US. Guess I'll have to try it.
He does say any type of cream.
As long as it’s not ultra pasteurized I hear you should be good

Success! This has set like clotted cream. Now I have to make scones to go with it. 🍪🍪
