Market Rasen - The Market Place Story

Market Rasen's first market was held almost 800 years ago in 1219. In this video we look at some of the historic events our market place has seen since then, right up to the latest accolades of Portas Pilot Town and NABMA Best Small Speciality Market of the Year, 2013.

The 20 stories on this website link to 20 real-life signs, now in place around Market Rasen. The signs and the site take you on a historical tour of the town, with the past brought to life through stories, videos, voices and even a panoramic view from the church tower!
If you have a smartphone or tablet, you can view the stories as you walk round town, with QR codes to scan from each sign that take you straight to the right story. Alternatively, you can look at the stories in comfort with a desktop computer, as a virtual journey through historic Market Rasen.
