As a new duck hunter, I will say this was the best clearest description of these simple strategies I have seen, read, or heard so far. Amazing investment of 13 minutes, thank you!
These spreads work perfect in the beginning of the season but tend to not work as well in the middle or end. The birds get use to seeing them and tend to flair. But as far as the pods configuration that's my all the time go to in my area for both ducks and geese. Great video Josh keep making them very educational for all types of hunters.
Also, on low wind, sunny days have the ducks come in facing the sun. You'll notice the ducks opposite of the sun commit harder than those who are on the sun side of the decoys. I actually consider the sun more than wind on sunny days. Sun to my back if possible or to my side. Always works. Especially after a cold front.
Love the videos. I’m a beginner duck hunter and about to purchase my first kayak for duck hunting. Would love to see a video on like dos and do nots for kayak duck hunting now that you’ve had a couple seasons of it under your belt
Another great video brother I'm gonna use your tips with my decoys this year I cant wait , waiting on some more gear reviews as well from you thanks for all you do 👍
Thanks for the video. This visual explanation is surprisingly rare even with all the waterfowl content out there. I still have 2 questions. When folks explain spreads and use terms upwind side and downwind side, which is which? And also where do you like to stick spinning-wing decoys in these spreads?
If you stand in a field and walk with the wind you are going downwind. If you walk against it you are going up wind. Spinning decoys I stick just upwind of where I want birds to finish
I am looking into getting a kayak to duck hunt out of this up coming season. I am trying to figure out how much weight capacity I should at. So what do you recommend planning for on weight capacity
This is my first season duck hunting and because of your videos I have been very successful on my own. Thank you!!

Makes sense. Drawing it out really helped me see how they come into the wind and find those pockets.

Josh the visual aid makes it so much better than most decoy spread videos. keep up the good work!
Thanks for the tips. I am definitely going to use these this next duck season.
Glad it was helpful!

Josh, very good information for us new to duck and goose hunting. I’ll ensure to practice these steps.
Awesome video!!! Just getting into duck hunting most definitely the best described video for decoys and spreads out there
Love the tip vids especially the spread ones
Hunter Hron agreed

David Ivester what kayak are you getting
I actually did a whole series of kayak duck hunting. you can find it here: th-cam.com/play/PL_rar8Rsc3J7IvwH_6DOPbK4nnxrdk__O.html
Great tips. Personally I don’t use a set pattern. I just place decoys where I DON’T want the ducks to land.
InstaBlaster
@@yehudafisher3896 far from it buddy. In my area birds avoid the standard patterns that everybody uses. We just have to be different than standard
I've mostly been using less than a dozen to frame a shooting area on a river.
Thanks for the info, great video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

A L shape spread also works really well
Zyllar Howell wouldn’t that basically be a more angular j spread?
Love these videos
Josh “Ducks and Gesse always come into the wind” the teal “ Are you challengeing me?”

Are your hats Velcro or snap adjustment and will they fit someone with a really big head?
Great videos
Nice video Definitely use them
Glad it helped!
Need a bottomland hat !!
I love the vids, keep grinding 🙌
Thanks! Will do!
I get the spread for the ducks where would I add six Canada goose decoys into the duck spread?
Good stuff 😉👍
Thanks 👍
What about calm, non-windy days?
ALL dekes moving!!
No more real tree timber hats? Just found your channel and gear.
Nice josh. Glad you didn’t give away the best one!
Next time!
Do you use multiple species of decoys?
Personally I do not. Unless it is early season, then I will have teal in my spread. Other than that is is just mallards and geese
Check out Limitless Outdoors. Justin will take you out if you take him out. You are both great guys who love hunting!
Honestly, I don’t make a V, or U, or J, I just find out where the wind is blowing, and throw em out
People who gave thumbs down also are men who sit to pee... just sayin'
First
Plz send me some decoys i realy want
Wait don't shoot more than 40 yards? You must not be watching Bobby guy films. ;)
Shooting over 40 yards is just wasting shells
Not only that but more crippled birds. Don't bag on Bobby everyone has their own way of doing things.
@@dennishindman3767 It was a joke. Bobby does it right and calls them in close.
Lol 40 yards I don't have much of a pattern when using a 10 gauge with a 32 inch barrel and a 2 inch extended full choke
