I mean, if it were different than the original, it'd be a different story, like how Whitney Houston's version of "I Will Always Love You" is so different that it calls for saying that you're singing her vision, but this isn't different. Mariah Carey, save for a few minor flourishes, like an improvised run here and there, which don't even show up here but instead other minor flourishes are improvised, sang it true to the original without adapting it or rescoring it.
