      Why does the guy always have to report to the South African news channels? More importantly, why don't they ask him serious questions? He likes to be the main man. The two smart educated leaders should also hold him accountable. He thinks he is free. I see him trying to dodge bullets by playing the role of Kgosi Kgolo. He believes he will be protected by the people when found guilty. Zuma strategy, Batswana are smarter than that.

      You want a journalist to choose a position? Is the what you do in your country? Having journalists choose positions and curtailing their interviewees? What kind of media is that? Mama Sophy is not the news.
      We don't seek to have embedded journalists in RSA and your little charades are nauseating. If you have evidence of Khama's criminality go open a case with Interpol and stop giving evidence on the comment section.

      While it is true that Botswana has seen a big shift in leadership, the credit for this change belongs to the people of Botswana, who made their voices heard through their vote and collective will.
      It is disingenuous for any former leader, especially one associated with a legacy of corruption and authoritarian rule, to claim responsibility for the removal of the current regime.
      Botswana’s citizens deserve the recognition for driving this change, as they have shown resilience and clarity about the future they envision for their country.
      This approach maintains the focus on the people while firmly countering any attempts by former leaders to co-opt the narrative.

Ian is allied to the Motsepes, and its evident that there is a push to make him seem like the hero who came and saved the day even though his influence was minimal (effective in his chieftain village only). Its appalling that despite the grand regime change between BDP (Masisi) and UDC (Boko); SABC choses to go over newsworthy Masisi/Boko and constantly shines the spotlight on to Khama. Who remembers the time he banned the EFF's Julius Malema from the country when Malema was talking about the same "regime change". Has he and everyone else conveniently forgotten about that? So desperate were Batswana to rid themselves of him, and so desperate were their faith in the BDP that the BDP won by a fair margin in 2019. What the country saw/experienced was just a continuation of what Khama started. It can be said that they saw and learnt it all from him! How long did Ian Khamas's party ruled Botswana? What progress hv they brought to the country? Zero human development. I travelled throughout Botswana, it's just sad, i was taken aback bcos @ the time the media praised Botswana as an African success story. With due respect to Batswana that is very very far from the truth. Botswana is still struggling with basics. I gave a young Doctor who just qualified in Australia. He had come to his Mum's funeral in Nata. Botswana didn't hv a Medical School. Maybe regime change will bring about some change. ANC = BDS. Only difference is we hv the infrastructure.

      I am not sure when your experience of Botswana was. Botswana is not a perfect country, but we are definitely doing much better than a lot. For 1, all our public schools across all levels use flushing toilets unlike in South Africa. And yes, we have had a fully operational medical school for just under 10 years now. You may want to name your basics for better contextualisation. The last 5 years have been the worst in the history of Botswana, and we remain hopeful that this change in leadership will be the solution we have been praying for.

      I don't know where you come from (don't really care), but EVERYTHING you saw in Botswana was built by Batswana and not european colonisers. When Botswana gained independence in 1966 it was the second poorest country in the world with less than 10km of tarred/paved road. Next time before you give your opinion, understand the context please.

    • @josephshonga178
      @josephshonga178 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That sounds like a longtime ago, For one Botswana now has a medical school and a lot has been done for a country that inherited a kilometers of road networks. And from the time you last visited Botswanas' HDI is a high of 0.708, at 114th in the world. You can't compare your infrastructure to that of Botswana, a country that at the time of independence was even ruled from Mafikeng in South Africa. So baba, the British left us nothing and for a longtime for Batswana to say they are going to look for a job, they meant going "ko dimaining" in South Africa. So the "little" you saw is a lot for us as we were dirt poor at independence.
