WW stopped working for me a while ago and I finally quit last year. I really started paying attention to macros. More protein, less carbs, and cleaner foods. I feel so much better and the weight loss is starting. I’m not doing keto but I’m trying to keep carbs below 100g and protein over 100g. I need to increase daily exercise which is my June goal. Thanks for your honesty and perspective.

This makes so much more sense to me than WW. I have lost on the program; however, 23 points a day is BRUTAL, even with 'free' foods. I'd rather use count calories as you are.

That’s why I went to counting calories.. I couldn’t do 23 points. I was starving!

lol I’m on WW. Fell off because of 23 points. I inflated my weight on the app by 75lbs to give me more points. I’m currently using WW as more of a guideline not staying exactly on program. I understand having to change things up and see what can work for each individual on their journey.

The problem with WW etc is that that don’t necessarily promote healthy foods - they still allow a lot of processed “foods” such as shakes and protein bars etc, and still consider full fat foods such as whole milk and cheese, as unhealthy, when they aren’t. Quality nutrient dense food is so much more important than just tracking calories.

    • @luckyladycharm
      @luckyladycharm 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

It's not about allowing processed foods. WW is a realistic approach to loosing weight because not everyone is on the same page with what you should and should not eat.

I’ve been on WW for awhile and had success in the past. Im not completely consistent so I can’t blame the program completely for not losing weight now. I use My plate with WW and I feel like that has help me a lot. I don’t want to count calories but I do what to know how to eat more healthy and understand my food groups. Also, learning how to weigh my food. This is your journey and you have to do what is best for you. You got this 💪🏾

It’s so ironic you came out with this video now- I just gave up WW also. Ive been on WW for the last 2 years and I weigh the same as when I started- yes I lost and gained. I have discovered just what you said- counting calories rather than points have given me a lot more options and variety in my meals. I’m also not eating such processed snacks . I’m reading a book on intuitive eating and trying not to have good foods and bad foods. Thanks for the protein tip.

I joined WW Jan 2O22 and hit goal within 6 months I lost 22 lbs, and have kept it off, I fluctuate within 2 pounds . About 9 months ago I didn’t renew and I found I missed the app, especially food shopping, so I rejoined 10 months $10 month, I’m happy to have my app again. I’m never hungry, I stopped all sugar, and limit my carbs for the morning.i am plant based so I have a lot of 0 foods that I love to eat..
I eat veggies, fruit, beans, lentils, tofu, and whole grains, and a serving of healthy fats
Good luck with your new plan, sometimes change is a good thing

I, too, have been toying with the idea of canceling Weight Watchers. In years past, I had a lot of success with it, but now I’m post menopausal and the scale is simply not moving.
I saw a post on TikTok about calorie deficit and have considered that route. Then, today, I watched your video and I took it as a sign 😊. Maybe it will help this ol’ body turn loose of a few pounds.
Good luck,on your journey. I enjoy your videos…and your daughters are adorable!

Oh girl, I was on and off WW for so many years. When I did it the very first time and it was called Weight Watchers, and not WW, but of course there was no online back then, it was all meetings. One time when I wasn't loosing anymore after loosing about 18 pounds😢, I went and talked to a group leader and asked her if I needed to go onto a more restricted plan, back then there was a full choice plan and a limited choice plan. Her immediate response was ABSOLUTELY NOT, she said she'd stay on the full choice plan, she said that I had just hit a plateau and everyone does and that I would start loosing again. That's what I ended up doing and it seemed like it took forever but she happened to be right and I ended up getting down to the slimmest I had ever been. That's an awesome program and it always was. The group leader told me that years prior to that she had lost 80 pounds and that nibody was gonna tell her that the program didn't work.😅

I’ve done WW a couple times in the past, but after a few years of letting myself go, I found myself back there recently. So many things that I used to dislike about it are still frustrating and I agree with you. My morning drink, chai latte, was not that high in calories, but high in points, so it messed up literally every day. I am a 23 pointer. I find myself cheating the WW rules because I don’t agree with them, but then what’s the point of using it? I think that I always used WW because I don’t looove tracking and I didn’t track my zero point foods (I always ate them in moderation). That took a little tracking off my plate. But this video was the push I need. I’m going to go with calories and put my big girl panties on when it comes to tracking. Good luck to you and me! You’re such a beautiful woman and fun to hang with while I fold laundry.

Congrats on your recent weight loss. I also switched from WW to tracing macros. I reached a long stall on WW and decided to change up. It works! You are right, there are no "good foods" or "bad foods". You can eat anything in moderation and still stay within your daily calories. I now eat "real" cheese occasionally and "real" butter. They may be a little higher in fat content, but 0 carbs and high in protein. I never liked the fat free cheese or other fat free products. I like the real thing. Good luck on your weight loss. I know you're going to do great.

I've been doing a calorie deficit for over a year and have lost over 60lbs and I've found it way less restrictive. If I want a McDonald's fries, a small is 230 calories. I feel you can incorporate way more "indulgences" into your daily lifestyle. And as women, sometimes we just need a piece of candy. And I completely agree I try to look at food as just food and not "good" or "bad".

This is what happened to me. I stalled out on weight watchers even though I followed it faithfully. But I am thank for my start on weight watchers because it did do a lot to teach me about healthy foods and eating. I have been counting calories for a while now. I am down 185 pounds over 4 years. The biggest thing for my success is to not stop even when the weight loss stalls for months. I just keep the mindset that I am keeping off what I have lost and that is success for me. This is not a diet to me it is a lifestyle change and I only made changes that I can do and live with. You are doing great! I still have 45 more pounds to go and I know it will happen whenever. I make ice cream in my ninja creami. My favorite is a premiere protein vanilla, then a container of unsweetened applesauce to add volume, half a box of dry sugar free pistachio pudding. I love pistachio ice cream. I mix in a few chopped roasted pistachios.

I realize this is an older video from you, but it popped up tonight as a suggested video for me. I used to subscribe to your channel for WW content, so I thought I would check out this video to see how you and your adorable little family are doing. I think the last time I watched one of your videos was right around the time you found out you were pregnant with your second child, so it's definitely been a while. LOL
I was actually surprised to see you've left WW. I did the same about a year ago for many of the exact reasons you mentioned. I was struggling with losing and gaining the same few pounds over and over. I also struggled with the points values for some foods on the current version of the program. Many of my favorite healthy fat food sources (nuts, avocado, etc.) just seem to be so high in points when compared to many less nutritious foods which are lower in points. It just didn't make sense to me anyone and I'm saying that as someone who was one of the original members of the WW Ambassadors program back in the day. I do still have my WW account, but only because I accrued so many new member referrals during my time as a WW influencer/blogger that my account is free until March of 2032. I haven't actually paid for WW since 2014.
Based on my experience with WW over many years, my guess is there will be changes coming to the plan in the next couple of months since they seem to do major changes in the late Fall every other year. I've also seen a few WW people I see follow in IG saying their coaches have said a big announcement will be coming soon. It will be interesting to see what changes they make this time.
One thing I actually do like with the current program is that I think it's easier for members to actually get enough calories if they are taking adequate advantage of the zero point foods. Back in the day before there were zero point foods, I definitely think the calories were far too low. Most of the time when I would track calories for a week alongside my points for comparison, I was generally in the 1100-1200 calorie range which I now realize is too low. It would be so much easier to get that number up now by simply adding in zero point foods. Since shifting to a calorie deficit way of eating, I'm generally eating between 1700-1800 calories per day and my weight loss is better. This way of eating also feels far more sustainable to me for the long-term.
I've rambled on long enough. I know you made the switch a few months ago, but I just wanted to wish you all the best with your calorie deficit journey.

I started WW in April of last year and was able to lose 50 pounds in a little less than a year but seemed to plateau and like you, was gaining and losing the same couple of pounds. Not only that, counting the points had become so monotonous to me. I have since started the Mediterranean diet and am steadily loosing again and enjoying a little more freedom with less restrictions. WW served its purpose and I do recommend it and feel it’s sustainable and may someday go back to it but for now I’m feeling good with the change. I recently started WW again after putting on a little weight and it’s just not the same. The program feels different and the community has definitely fallen apart (this was a huge help/motivator for me). I’m going to give calorie counting a try. Being mindful of calories is definitely the way to go... I have thirty pounds to lose and decided to go back to intermittent fasting yesterday... My eating window is 12pm-8pm... I had an incredible two-egg omelet for my first meal with lots of veggies and chicken sausage... It really filled me up.
Throughout the day I had my coffee with three teaspoons of sugar and two tablespoons of hazelnut creamer (it was perfect), along with a fresh glass of watermelon juice - some chopped pineapple 🍍, and my dinner was a turkey cheeseburger with baked sweet potato fries and sauteed onions and mushrooms with an egg scrambled in (odd, but so good with the meal)...
I woke up today 1.6 pounds lighter and my scale had not been moving at all... I even had walnuts mixed with a tablespoon of chocolate chips as dessert.
I'm sipping on ice water now and I've already prepped the items for my omelet so I can make it quickly durinh my next break (I work from home), but agree - give me my coffee exactly how I like it and let me eat real food.
P.S. I also did twenty mins on my stepper while working my arms with three pound weights.

Thanks for this, and for being real. WW stopped working for me awhile ago- "free foods" dont make sense to me because they have calories. And i eat real foods, not processed foods, so i will eat a pat of butter, but not use a spray of i cant believe its not butter. Ive started tracking calories as well and higher protein. My body doesnt process processed carbs that well, so technically im doing lower carb- but im eating fruits, vegs, and gluten free whole foods. I feel better than i have in a long time! I need to do more moving as well, but am hioing the fact that it is spring and summer now, i get my behind in gear! Great job on the weight loss and kick butt on the journey!

Good for you! It's important to review and revise as we go! I'm still having success with WW so I'll stick with it. I just travelled and had regular coffee creamer with my coffee. I'm not beating myself up about it. It was delicious. I skipped the wedding cake, and didn't feel deprived at all. I lost one lb on vacation and I call that a win win

Hey Lauren, Im happy to see you doing calorie counting! :) I kind of lost interest in WW content since it hasnt been working for me either. I have a few tips for you, Im a broke mom and looove my sweet and creamy iced coffee but cant afford protein shakes so Nicole Burgess on YT got me hooked on her protein iced coffee. I do like 1/2 cup strong coffee or espresso in a large cup of ice, then do 3/4 to 1 cup unsweet almond milk blended with half a scoop protein powder (in like a little blender, not just using a little hand frother thing, a small blender is needed) and pour it on the coffee, it is amazing. I had tried before just in a shaker etc, no, gotta be blended because it makes it creamy, sweet, with a layer of foam on top too. She uses PEScience and I do also (cake pop, chocolate cupcake and snickerdoodle are great). Also if you are wanting some fiber, the Ready Clean Chocolate Peanut Butter protein bars are SO GOOD and they have 7g fiber, thats a nice big chunk of my day. I have one in the evening as dessert. They are like peanut butter rice krispies drizzled in chocolate. Looking forward to watching you again, best of luck in your journey! :)

Sometimes you just need a change, a reset. I lost 135 lbs with myfitnesspal and kept it off for 11 yrs this last yr I gained back 14 lbs due to stress eating. I needed a change to motivate me since I’ve used myfitnesspal for 14 yrs to track. I joined WW and started lifting weights, I am back to my goal I now track both WW and myfitnesspal. Consistency is key , you got this

Thanks for sharing Lauren! Awesome job on your recent weight loss with MFP🎉 & getting that protein in! I have 80-100 I’ve been trying to lose on ww….after years of up & down same 10 pounds I’m going to do something a little more extreme for a month or 2 and hope I can get that scale moving. Lowering carbs & cutting out more sugars & thinking of trying a program to help. Keep rocking it girl! You are doing great!

    I’m a LONG time Weight Watchers member/leader
I got so tired switching every one to two years so the company could make millions of $$ off “ new” points calculators and cook books😡I restarted Simply Filling( thank goodness there is still videos on TH-cam!) two weeks ago, I stay fuller/satiated ,I think I get 20-25 daily points a day too.
I was on a Keto diet for 18 months but really felt bad even though I lost 35 pounds I got sick of eating meat, strawberries and eggs!
I am 80% vegetarian 20% dairy/ meat if that makes any sense ,
I still drink skim milk and eat eggs and low fat cheese. Wishing you great success 😊👍🏻and fun Summer.

I also can't drink black coffee. I could drink without creamer, but I do need something to sweeten it. So, I use sugar substitute or sugar-free coffee syrup. It works for me. I tolerate it well, plus I don't drink coffee every day.
I tried unsweetened almond milk in my coffee, but I find it gives it a weird aftertaste and I don't enjoy it.
I'm pre-diabetic so I've stopped WW to focus on calorie deficit and following how my dr suggested.

Congratulations on your weight loss! I’ve tried WW off and on for years. When we did the meetings I enjoyed those but the app did nothing for me. I switched to the Lose it app ( free version) I love the freedom calorie counting gave me. I sit down for a minute in the morning and loosely plan out my day calorie wise usually based on my dinner plan, then just fill in other meals and snacks. Like others have said 23 points is brutal. I constantly felt bad about myself because I was having a hard time staying on the “points budget” and it really made me mad when I looked at just how many calories that was. I think WW is a great program but if it or anything else doesn’t work, it’s time to move on.

@LaurenJensen I have been on Ww since 2016. I do try some new recipes. I go walking early in the morning like 6:30 am in Michigan where I live. I am trying to lose weight for my back problems. I think I have sat so much in my life and haven’t been active more often. It’s sad for me. I pay $15 dollars for the Ww app every month plus I go to the meetings too. I enjoy the meetings. I love all different flavors of yogurt. Now I think I am getting bored with it. How do I make those frozen yogurt if I don’t have a Ninja Creamy ? Any suggestions?

I have also found the new program just doesn't really work, which I am starting to wonder if its intentional since the real money maker is now the weight loss medication. I get 23 point on ww and its honestly so limited is borderline starvation, no room for healthy fats is what really kills me, balanced eating is so important and it really seems to put a ton of focus on foods with low fat and fake sugars.

I found on WW it caused a lot of weird food problems for me. I much prefer calorie counting. My mind is coming around, but I still look at certain food as "bad," "too many points".... just weird. On calorie counting I can look at chicken and think... ok... that will cost me 100 cals... a piece of sirloin 150 cals... my choice what I want to spend my cals on :)... not "chicken is free points and sirloin is 8 points".... brings me anxiety just thinking about points vs calories.

Wow you sound just like me. I just dropped WW as well. Really, it is just another way to count calories. I had 23 points a day. I only need to lose 20 pounds but just started tracking calories on my own to stay in a deficit. I am also moving more. Be careful with protein. Yes, it is good for you and it satiates you but all these people going crazy with huge amounts of protein is not good. My doctor told me excessive amounts are not good for your kidneys. Good luck. I’ve already dropped 5 pounds so feel like this will work and will stop tracking once I lose because it is a pain. By then I should have a good idea of proper portion control.

I don't like WW anymore. To me they have screwed up their program . They now concentrate more on medical clinic with there pills. Not feeling it so I quit and done making them rich. I now feel meeee! I as well concentrate on protein and calories and fat content. I drink 86oz water every day. Sometimes I squeeze orange and lemon and ginger in my water. I leave the bad carbs out like chips, crackers, bread etc.. Also found out I wasn't eating enough. I use a portion plate. I eat salads with good source of protein. I'm alot happier. , and it's working ❤❤

I haven’t been doing well on this last WW program. But I got lifetime about 3 years ago, and still am but I was well below my goal weight. But I get WW free, however, Now I’m one pound below goal. I can’t get back down to where I was before covid. I don’t like this last WW program. I get 23 points. I just don’t like this zero point foods and get hammered for things are not zero point. I don’t think I get enough protein. I’m hoping this year stupid plan changes.
