I’m at the point where my pond is dug out, had been quoted 15k for someone to do it, no chance so cracking on. Footings going in this weekend for blocks, bottom drain to fit, filter housing to build etc etc. you’ve done an amazing job so never knock yourself for having a go, you can look at it knowing you did everything yourself 👍

💡your 4 inch drainage, your aco drain above ground, think about a no return for smells in the furniture. Soakaway will smell in a few years time with pond water. Idea to spot it is normally a Swan neck kind thing so water not dry out and smells come up. 4x 45c so water is always in pipe. Connect the up, two down and two up. Hope it helps 🙏🙂

Can I give you a tip , put plastic bags over the open 4” pipes to prevent any thing going down them and the same thing with the bottom drains just to keep them clean and stop any much going into them
This will save you any problems later

Hi James where are you having your skimmer in the pond because that would tell you where your returns from the filters should have been because if you return is to high by the skimmer it will draw the return water into in and your returns should flow with each other and not against but I must say you are doing a great job and can’t wait to see it finished
