I Have Seen Such People, they are entirely idiots, Caring About their Own status Rather Than To Save Lives.
If There were No Social Media, Would You then also give up on them For Not Knowing Them.
I Have Seen ESFJs To Be very Sensitive Of Others, This Response Was More Of An ESTP Type
That's Pathetic, Let's Suppose You don't know someone in train and he is in trouble, would you really not mind saving them, That's what humanity is nowadays, Most of them even don't care others anymore. It is just restricted to some imaginary likes, followers. which can be gained by paying money also.
Also, This Happens When you are more of isolated from others. And This is What Happens When You become isolated from others due to social media, aka You become antisocial. So, it is much good to delete such apps and spend more time in real life. Because this generation is doomed to lose.

My answer as an INFJ - "I do not hold any moral right to decide the fate of others, so I let time do its work, and if the odds favour the people on that track ,they will be saved by that very probability which favours them".

    • @GK-ob1ni
      @GK-ob1ni 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +27

But what if it was fate that put you there so you could help these people? 🤔. Another INFJ here.
Edit: What if the people on the track were praying for rescue and God answered their prayers by putting you in that place at the right time?
If it was fate for those people to die, I would think that fate would ensure that there was no one around that could hinder that plan. The fact that you're there indicates to me that you were meant to be there and were meant to act.
The way I look at it, we are all connected. Everything we do affects someone in some way. It's the butterfly effect. If you pull the lever, you will forever change the lives of not only the people on the track, but also their loved ones and anyone connected with them. If you don't pull the lever, you will forever change the lives of the people on the track, their loved ones and anyone connected with them. Basically, regardless of whether you choose to act or not you will be playing a role in their fate - so make sure the role you play is something you can live with.

Also, a train without brakes is probably going too fast for that curve, so pulling the lever guarantees it will derail killing all 6 people, something that would only be revealed in hindsight after freezing for too long and panicking as it thunders closer, or it derails from trying to pull the lever as it's hitting it, killing all 6 that way instead. Lots of ways to mess up.
And of course the thing I could have done to stop it from happening will pop into my head a few days later, or I would expect unreasonable things of myself 'why couldn't I have stolen a digger and buckled the tracks ahead of the train to derail it before it got to the people'. :)

Soooo… there’s no way to save them all? There is no right decision then. Yes, I’m that idiot who occasionally gets triggered and struggles to accept the fact that life isn’t fair. I’ll pull the lever knowing it’s wrong, unhappy with my decision, but inaction is so much harder for me, to let go and stop trying to “sacrifice” myself for whatever I think is best. Maybe it’ll become easier one day, in the meantime though, I’ll still be crying, never in public, always on the inside.

    INFP is TOO accurate dude...
Anytime I've heard someone say what they would do I've spent the next 10 minutes, 15 minutes, next couple days wondering what I would do, if I would do anything, how it would be justifiable to do either, what if I pulled the lever and the guy's mom comes up in tears, and asks why I killed her child, I wouldn't have an answer, what if I killed all five and the one guy says I should've just killed him, is it possible I could flip the switch so that it derails the train? What if there are people on the train?? I'd be responsible for them as well!! What if the driver gets trauma, and it's my fault because I didn't flip the switch? Huh? Also WHY ARE THEY ON THE TRACKS?? WHO PUT THEM THERE?? Was it someone I know? Am I in danger? And why can't the train stop?
(This is why I would freeze up, in case you're wondering)

I would look for something like a log to throw onto the track, hoping the train driver might see it in time and stop. They never say if the train is full or empty? Because if full and derailed it would kill more people? If I couldn't find a log to push on to the tracks, I'd pull the switch and save 5 over one person, rather then 5 die and one is saved. If I couldn't decide, 5 die. If that happened in real life, I wouldn't think it's my fault, I would see it as an impossible situation. Which of course, it is! I loved every portrayal here. You keep topping yourself, Frank, and it just tickles me so much that you chose the "trolley problem" because my INTJ friends always bring this up. From my experience, I end up rambling out my rationale and revising while I talk about how I would choose not to do anything.
In case anybody is interested, here's what I usually say. I would not choose to pull the lever because not doing anything is different from actively pulling the lever. In the former situation, I didn't cause the initial problem and is allowing what would have happened had I not been there happen, as tragic as it is. However, by choosing to act and pull the lever, I am creating a subsequent problem and am assuming some responsibility and choosing to kill someone.
Not to mention, pulling to lever would require making a judgment call that the lives of those five are more valuable than that one person, and how can I know that other than just treating this as a math problem. As an INFP, I have to say that any Fi-dom will have trouble seeing people in a strict quantitative way, as that is contrary to a Fi-dom/user would stand for, haha. I mean, who am I to say that one life isn't worth as much as five lives just because some depraved actor decided to put that person by himself/herself/themselves and those other five people together. Even if I had more information on who each of these victims are, I still can't make that ultimate judgment call.
I'm going to go further and put my lawyer hat on. By doing nothing, the fault remains squarely on the deranged person who created this mess and not on me, and, thus, I am free from liability and I can sue that person for emotional harm (depending on the jurisdiction and whether my emotional pain and suffering has to manifests itself physically ).
To explain further, since I have no duty of care to help save anybody as I'm not a conductor, train engineer, official from the train company or whatever (facts don't say I am), then I have no duty to act or to mitigate damages on behalf of the train company. However, if I pulled the lever, I could be held liable for killing that one person as my actions were the proximate cause that killed that person.
Of course, I could always defend myself by stating that I was under duress; the problem with that is the original prompt/fact-pattern didn't say I or my loved ones was under threat or had a gun to my head or whatever, so it's questionable as to whether that defense will succeed. And even if it would, that's needless work and deep pain/stress I'm going to be put under and I'm already going to need years on top of years of deep therapy for surviving this horrific scenario.
That said, "Come on baby, do the locomotion...."

0:16 I'm an INFP(the rest of my Typepology is in my bio) and before, I probably would have reacted similarly to INFP in the video due to the moral delima, since doing anything & nothing will leave an undesirable outcome.. but when watching this video I had a realisation.
What if we were to switch the lever when the train was near the track that could switch.. & while the track is switching while the train is on it, it goes off track since the two tires would be wedged between both the track with 5 people & the track of 1 person, causing the train to roll off the tracks in between both tracks.
[hopefully the explanation made sense (;w;) ]
Injuries would probably be inevitable but everyone may have a chance of living still..
& at least we did something which relieves the delima of simply doing nothing, since knowing this way has a chance of saving everyone, it's worth a shot. Compared to doing nothing with the belief that either decision would cause someone to lose their life..
Idk how I never thought of this possibility before

I probably would do nothing if the only thing you were allowed to do was move the lever or not, because if you pull the lever either way you are choosing to hurt someone/some people. If I HAD to, I would do it for the one person and kinda like the ISTP was saying I would try and hurry over to save them before it was too late. - ENFJ

i mean if you don't pull the lever you're choosing to hurt 5 people (to save 1), while if you do, you're choosing to hurt 1 person (to save 5). If that's really the only options, pretty cut and dry to me
