It's wild that one journalist mentions getting rid of the break weeks and now everyone has jumped on it after years of nobody having an issue, even more ironic is that all this has come after they've committed to getting rid of it anyway. Don't know how we managed for years when the competition was run over 9 weeks or whatever it was.
6 weeks, but have 2 match on week 3, and 1 match on week 4 (always make this single game the highest 2 teams by world rankings {e.g. France v Ireland for this year}) This means there is no weeks without a match but each team still only plays 3 in a row and all the weeks will have a build up, keeping tournament momentum/intrigue high.
@@fonz114 Ah yes, the dog-eared + predictable justification of another failed campaign - it's logic like yours that keeps us in cycle of perpetual World Cup failure. Keep telling yourself was another great campaign if it makes you feel better good lad.
Car crash is a bit OTT😂 we had two scrum penalties for us reversed and given to the AB’s by Wayne Barnes, no one is sure to this day why ! They were at crucial times of the game. Ireland were just a bit flat on the day, which is usually due to emotional and physical fatigue. I don’t think the bench was trusted in the previous games, which means our squad just wasn’t strong enough, Sexton really should have come off 15 mins earlier !! strangely the bench does seem a lot stronger only 3 months later ! So I think that lesson was well learned. Let’s be honest that was the first time we had any realistic chance of winning the competition, but the Draw wasn’t kind and the SA’s and AB’s were able to plan better and with a lot more experience of managing those knock out stages . I think all that is pretty obvious really, just need to learn the lessons now. ✌️
@@eamonndawson5329 Agreed the scrum penalties were crucial + we were def on much tougher side of the draw. Was just galling to see Irish Management fail to rotate squad throughout tournament culminating in leaving Sexton on to final whistle in QF when he could hardly walk let alone run by the end - what was the point in even having Crowley on the bench. I guess my point is that I don't think we really have learnt the lessons / no sign of RWC review + hype machine is up + running again 😞
@@eamonndawson5329good shout on using the squad and bench, but the missing ingredient is fatiguing the squad more often between world cups. Too much wrapping the squad in cotton wool leaves them not used to playing week in week out.
@@simonjeffs75 tbh going off the form of Ireland in the last 2/3 years they would be capable. Anyone who enjoys rugby knows what Ireland can do. Hats off to England.
Neil you're spot on. No need for a second fallow week.

SA were out on their feet in that WC Semi final. England were fresh coming from their group. Both teams will be fresh on Saturday. Ireland by 10.
And there is Tom Ahern to come through yet
We should go 7-1, just to annoy Matt Williams
The answer is: YES!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Back in yer box Heaslip.
Arrogant beyond belief
This game is far from over! England will be looking to spoil the party and in Twickenham it's more than possible. Come on Ireland! 🇮🇪
The party is next week.

Hugo Keenan needed the 2 weeks to get back fit - apart from that it served no use whatsoever!
Baird gave away two penalties while he was on.
He's a divil for losing it in contact too.
Since when did a podcast have video?
is it still lockdown in ireland or is this RTE's way of saying we haven't a pot to piss in?
Any word on the World Cup review or has the car crash been consigned to history / never to be mentioned again?
Won 4 out of 5 games including beating the world champs,
Lost to NZ by just 4 points,
Carcrash??
Go watch cricket mate

Haha.
Same intro music as the Telegraph rugby pod.
RTE have been using that music for the 6 nations for about 15 years
