Some tips: 1. Glass bottles and broken glass bottles are 100% the source of splinters. This way you can create a wide spear that won't fall apart after a few hits. 2. You can create a vehicle to transport things. 2 large logs and a lot of medium ropes and stuff that I don't remember :) UPD. Need Mechanics skill :( 3. Don't forget to cover your tracks and hide if you have any moves left, or before going to bed. 4. Cannibalism is a terrible idea and will give you "growing hunger" disease. But there is a plot point in the game where you can cure it once. 5. The dog man's cape will make you look more intimidating. And sometimes you can find a clown mask that does the same thing. With both, you can avoid many battles by threatening.
Hey Rycon, you can place plastic bags on your backpack slot. Its the slot under your duffle bags inventory screen lol. Your duffle bag doesnt take up that slot since you strapped it to your shoulder.
This one is a lot of fun. Much more to it than I judged at first. The storytelling is good. Sometimes it's nice to let the game be the DM/GM a little more than say CDDA
cdda is this game with more content, theres tons of NPCs now and quests, tons of content in the mods MoM and Xedra that come with the game, its not even comparable.
Philip Kindred continues his struggle against the elements, while Rycon continues his struggle against the Flash Player interface. Heroes don't always wear dogskin capes.
Really enjoying the series and so glad you are still alive! - by the way a few tips you can do: - break a whisky bottle to get 100% condition glass shards to use in a broad spear - make a makeshif carrying sack from the sleeping bag (and uncraft it back again) - can carry a plastic bag on your back not just in hand - wear a rag on your face to protect from the toxic mold - close (fold up) the multi-tool to save space (this is actually only in the extended mod)
I remember playing a demo of this back when it first came out, didn't really understand the game mechanics, and uninstalled. After watching you play a couple episodes, I'm strongly considering buying it. This type of game is right up my alley, and watching you play has de-mystified the game mechanics. Great series, btw.
Don't forget to check for loot on the plains while you are traveling (Loot is indicated by the clickable brown box icon on the space). You can find surprisingly cool stuff that way. Also you can wear a clean rag over your character's face to help protect against containments.
So, I decided to look you up last night after having seen your name on a bunch of the BPL videos. Two episodes into this series, and subbed. This is comfy, and gives me strong Kruggsmash vibes (minus the Dorf, obviously). So far, series has made me appreciate NEO Scavenger a lot more than when I dipped a toe into it, with much less time. I may even revisit it. Keep it up, Kiwi bru. I'll be around.
I started playing C:DDA and Kenshi because of your series. Looks like I'm about to try my hand at Neo Scavenger, too. I love watching these playthroughs, thank you for the quality content!
it seems like it's been some time since you've played Neo Scav. Let me give you some advice, first, the blue colored berries are always safe to eat, while the red or white berries are not. Second, since you are going towards Detroit, and the junk seller, now would be the time to pick up high value items like binoculars, pills, ammo, backpacks etc. And finally, the sleeping bag you are holding onto can be made into a large makeshift bag to hold more items, and don't worry about not finding another, that's the crappy version, and the good version is sold at Detroit. Oh and if you press shift, you can unstack items.
My time watching you is now reinvigorated by this new series you made. I last watch you consistently is when you did cdda with a girl I forgot the name of but I remember she started in a cave being watched by migos
I have a tip you might appreciate if you don't mind a spoiler: . . . . . I figured out you can take a sleeping bag and craft it into a large sack you can hold in a hand by removing or adding a large string. Can anyone confirm or deny? Its been some time sense I played
Ive heard him talk about it before during a hundred hours of CDDA. I believe it's his method of recording/editing. Now that we've let him know, he can probably get caught up with it. (I noticed it too btw)
I am ADORING this series Rycon! If I'm brutally honest, I think it's better than the CDDA stuff, though that being said I enjoy all your work! Keep it up buddy, love from Australia!
In fact, never melee surge at all except in special 2v1 situations, or vs the DMC guard. 2 v 1 because surge is technically 3x the damage in 2 turns. If you can kill a, let's say bad dog person because they missed and are now vulnerable, you can stun them, cripple them then walk away until the one you obliterated bleeds out, if it did'nt die immediately. Risky, but honestly you were already dead fighting 2 dogmen. Alterantively, the DMC goes for non-lethal, until they get scared, then they are the most lethal, occasionally God slaying being in the neo scavenger world. So you really want to hurt them very very badly from the start of the ambush and hope they drop their shotgun. Otherwise you become fine mist. Either is suicide, but suicide with a potential way out. Against normal enemies, ducking out their bullets and approaching under cover, (stay 10 tiles away until you are sure it's an empty gun.) Fighting with advantage using special moves(100% accuracy) or parrying/dodging until they miss before attacking.(usually happens instantly, making them vulnerable) Abusing the vulnerable state is the key to becoming a neo scavenger God. Vulnerable hits deal critical damage much more often, and hit much more easily, and stun frequently, often snowballing into the death of the enemy. Don’t even give a free turn by melee surging an enemy. Keep up the pressure with precise single attacks on stunned and vulnerable states, force out vulnerable states through specials like trap and headbutt, or parry and dodge if desperate and no good options come out and you will win all but the most unfair of fights with barely a scratch.
you can wear the duffle AND a backpack; you can also WEAR A PLASTIC BAG as a shitty but undeniably handy backpack. There are also at least two types of actual backpacks. TWO MED STRINGS + TARP = BIG BAG - cant go on your back, but it's, well, big.
if you have clean cloths for bandages and are in good health it's not terable to tyr and savange a crumbling building just don't use strength .... just don't do it unless you have something to patch yourself up incase you get hurt
@@ryconplays Unfortunately, Rycon, the range of a crowbar is only one less at 2 (well, minus the throw's range of 10, but then you lose the spear), but stronger than any but the Broad Spear melee strike for any primitive weapons or tool-based weapons (basically, repurposed weapons) with reach greater than 1 (Monkey Wrench hits like a TRUCK, but only has a range of 1, IIRC), to my knowledge.

You can fold the multitool and use one of your clean rags as a mask to protect from mold in the future.
You can fold it!?
Yup. Saves 2 slots
RIP the sleeping bag.
Yeah, that's the problem with flip flops, good thing you found some sneakers.
Loving this series, by the way!

Yes, true heroes wear dogmanskin
I've enjoyed neo since day one, such a wonderful little game, ostranauts is coming along nicely too.
It really is!
@@ryconplays Maybe the Ostranauts can be a RP in the future too. heh.

"I'd be willing to kill a man over a crowbar" Rycon 2023

That Bad Mutha was definitely waiting for the other shoe to drop. 😅
The music from this episode reminds me of Underrail. Its a bit of a survival RPG that I think you would quite enjoy!
I've played it before, big fan of that too
Same guy did the music

Can you try putting a clean rag over your mouth in inventory screen to make a makeshift mask to prevent breathing in the black mold?
Very helpful early game tip: combine a medium string and tarp and you get a makeshift sack, decent storage and easy to make
Very glad you are playing this, the game deserves more exposure.
Episode 2 baybe! From what I can recall, the security footage gives access to something hidden so its not worth selling immediately.
the Kermit voice you make from time to time is really funny :)))))
The series I didn't know I needed in my life.
4:50 i think its possible to combine a Tarp and random twine to make a transport bag thats decent

We have 2 shoes yeah!!!!
Its the little things lol
I can't believe Rycon passed up the matching shoes.
I guess he just doesn't know fashion.
I'm all about those condition percentages baby haha

Hilma? She's transitioned into a another series! 😊
Great vid! really enjoying this title - you made it to Detroit really fast, imho
I'm loving this. Can't wait for more!

an easier way to make a makeshift sack is by using a tarp and a medium string
@@ahmedlateef8669 Was really hoping he'd find that last ep when he was looking at the recipes lol
Hey Rycon, I noticed a bit of Audio desync? Is that on my end, or is it a video issue?
I'm also noticing it
Night be a TH-cam issue on our end or on his
I remember seeing that happens sometimes when a video has just been uploaded, might fix itself if you check back in an hour or two?

Ooo
Isnt that an ominous title!
Im excited for this one
make sure you put a cloth over your mouth also fold the multi tool
We making it into Detroit with this one 🙏
You can make makeshift shoes with a flipper + rags
Geeze every person I ever encounter tries to kill me. You're insanely lucky sometimes dude. lol
On to the mega city!
lures and obsticals are very powerfull.... anything to make them fall..... get them on the ground and attack
try throwing everything you can into the crafting it helps to see what you can make
10/10 series
you can wear a clean rag as a dust mask.
I enjoyed the show.
Rycon! Burn stuff on the fire for ashes!
you really should look into making a travos to drag behind you... if you get in a fight you can just drop it
try not to melee surge too often. save it for when the enemy is stunned or vulnerable.

Cant wait untill he starts getting agrees with the other humans
Hey there, you seem to not use your backpack slot. You can put plastic bags there.
Glass bottle should be able to hold more then 2 lots of water. Also i can provide info on berries if you want.
So far so good... glad he got a good shoe now and damn this Game looks good .. might get it myself ^^
Hold ctrl to click items and it just auto puts them in your inventory (: you wont have to manually place items on squares
This game seems fun
cool series
Berries if you don't have the trait : Red and yellow will kill a fellow but black and blue are good for you. And fuck mushrooms
Goodbye sleeping bag.
Loved it❤

Between Detroit and wilderness with feral dogs that wants to eat you (and worse) i think wilderness is less dangerous...
if you have clean cloths for bandages and are in good health it's not terable to tyr and savange a crumbling building just don't use strength .... just don't do it unless you have something to patch yourself up incase you get hurt
Detroit is weirdly enough very sparsely populated irl
Lansing is our capital city
I like this.
...Why would you keep a stick instead of taking another crowbar in hand?
Range I think. The spear you can attack from further away, at least that's how I hope its working haha

You really tried to kill another person? Hard thing to do.
you should keep a rag on your face >.
Is it just me or does the footage and commentary seem off in this one?
It is a little bit. Apologies there. Should be better for future episodes. The flash engine doesn't seem to sync well when recording
