Overwatch has been out now for over 2 years and has no sign of an Overwatch 2 coming soon. So for Overwatch's 2nd anniversary, we are bringing you 107 facts about Overwatch volume 3. That eagle visual behind Pharah while ulting would’ve been sick!
But her character is meant to be one of the more "realistic" ones, so a giant flying eagle doesn't really make sense. Besides, Overwatch lore belongs to the sci-fi genre rather than magic/fantasy, so everything they design should be explainable in a sci-fi setting.

@@ZuzannaFavesDie Yes, the Shimada brothers are an exception as they lie a bit outside the sci-fi genre. They practice the mystical arts so their ultimates look magical. But I was talking about Pharah, who is basically an upgraded modern-day soldier. A giant eagle projection is still inconsistent with her character.

Of all the things, I'm cool with Mei getting a more *ahem* robust style, as well as the one-handed hair-dryer of doom. It's a shame they didn't make Snowball more prominent besides her Ult, but hey, at least he's there... plus the emotes!

*Edit: Might I add, I love the cultural sensitivity and homage Blizz pays to their alternative skins. Amidst PC backlash, I'm glad they stood their ground, as these skins aren't an embodiment, but rather a sort of cultural shoutout to their characters' origins.

I don’t know what else you slipped up on, but for #60 you said that “Mei’s ice wall was initially intended to be opaque but due to technical limitations the wall became a solid blue” It was actually intended to be transparent, as opaque and solid blue are the same thing in this case. Just thought you’d wanna know.
When I first started playing this game in December 2017, these were just characters who had cool abilities. Now as I'm getting more into it, and learning the backstory of many of the characters, this game and the characters themselves are so friggin awesome.

This is why I love Overwatch. They can show off so many different nationalities and personalities and lifestyles without seeming like they are pandering to any one group. They make it to where a man is not better than a woman, nor is a woman better than a man. Characters can be gay, straight, bi, or whatever, and that doesn't define them. A character who is white is not always the bad guy, and a black/minority is not always the good guy, but not because of their particular race, but because of their actions. More often than not, you aren't even sure if a character is a good or bad person.
Basically, they aren't making characters, they are making humans with real histories and real personalities, where they're abilities are defined by their characteristics and their characteristics are defined by their history, and their history is defined by accomplishments, failures, flaws, love, hate, gain, loss, and so much more.
Concepts are cooler than what we have.
