    THIS INSTALL TAKES ABOUT 2-3 HOURS DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE. THE HARDEST PART IS GETTING THE KEY SWITCH IN AND OUT AS IT SITS IN A SLIGHT DEPRESSION IN THE TOP OF THE COOLANT TANK THAT WILL TAKE SOME EFFORT TO CLEAR THE LIP
    ANOTHER ISSUE I RAN ACROSS WAS THE NEW LOCKING PIN. I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SWITCH THEM OUT. SO THE BAR LICK WILL NOT WORK. WHICH REALLY DOESN'T MATTER AS THAT LOCK ISN'T GOING TO DO MUCH ANYWAYS

      @@bufftech1092 I took it apart and replaced it with the one supplied in the with the stabilizer. It was a pretty straight forward fix. Just need a flat head screwdriver to pry off the metal cap to access it.

    i have the same stabilizer oil my 2018 690. I didn't trim the plastic. I tried the metal T bar with a grinder so it was less wide. I managed to get the lock bar done after installation after about 6 months when i figured out how to pry off the cover of the key switch. Great video for those who may want to use this stabilizer. The stabilizer has removed my hide speed shake and shake on loose gravel/sand at speed.

    hi
    thank you for uploading this video , it was verry helpfull
    in my case the contactslot came out verry easy by pushing with my left hand thumb the plastic coolant tank a bit down and use the right hand for the contact
    another note
    the t-bar is changed by savage because , it fitted exactly , i mean it did not have the long sides with two holes at one side but a shorter t bar with only a hole per side
    so no cutting sawing or fixing needed

      Not silly at all. I actually didn't think about that to be honest. Everything I did was by trial and error as there where zero instructions anywhere when I did this install. But the new kits being shipped now have the shorter T-bar that do not require any trimming

    Has anyone had a problem with the existing steering lock shaft being too short once the T-bar is in place? A longer steering lock shaft is included with the stabiliser but not sure if its that straightforward to replace as you need to break open the ignition barrel?

    • @EastTexasADV
      @EastTexasADV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You pretty much have disassemble the key cylinder. I messed with it for about 30 minutes and decided it wasnt worth it. Most people wanting to steal a bike arnt going to let a steering lock stop them as they are easily broken with a hard hit. Now with that being said There was a recent post from another viewer that said it was pretty easy once he got the plastic cover off. maybe reply to his comment and maybe he can help ya out more. I got the Savage brand and please,,,SAVE your money and buy Scott's or the other,,, right out of the box it was leaking oil. The box inside already had some oil spill. I manage to refill it hoping that it was just a fluke.. Unfortunately it is leaking. The settings are really useless for fine tuning. It goes many clicks and no change just the last 3 clicks it starts dampening. The material is soft. The lever has a lot of movement before it engages. Waste of money!!!!

    • @EastTexasADV
      @EastTexasADV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that sucks. Have you contacted the seller? I would have done that immediately once I opened the box and saw that it was leaking. I have seen Scotts do the same thing unfortunately. Guess that's gonna happen when you have the parts machined in China and assembled in the US. You might get better quality control with the inal product but that's about it, quality as a whole isn't gonna change a whole lot. As far as the clickers not doing much as far as fine tuning the dampener there is another adjustment point under that black plastic cap. That it for your fine tuning.
