I think people will not ride those because of the fact their software can cause locked doors, non stop of the car, erroneous actions of the car. I will not ride one.
This is the future guys. Eventually there will be no drivers. Mark my words. Of course like any thing moving forward there is opposition, criticism. Same happened when cars used to make 9 miles the gallon. Everyone thought was impossible and crazy to improve that. And look at us now.
Nope They are limited . No highway rides . In Las Vegas they just are on the strip . No lake Las Vegas . No way can they make enough money to survive . It is just a driverless shuttle . No airport rides . This will fail.
Good stuff!! Waymo ALREADY has 22% of the market share in SF. The parent company Google has money to burn and will do everything to overcome any hurdles and takeover the rideshare industry.
Or, if one had the inclination, take a ride, end the ride immobilize the vehicle remove the cameras and robotics and the GPS. I've seen a lot of vehicles in the Charleston area that seem to be vehicle dumps, even an old UPS delivery van.
Considering Uber disabled specific safety features last time that resulted in the deaths of a few people, I would never get in any vehicle belonging to Uber.
Lyft and Uber were unique in that they had a service that combined tech and in person human interaction. Something all the other apps lacked (Amazon, eBay, post mates, Facebook, twitter, instagram, etc) Everyone always complains about automation, online platforms and social media because they are superficial and lack human connection. So whats funny is that this uniqueness they have is the very thing they want to move away from.
So let's see how riders will send a gate code to the car when driving into apartment premises and also locate the passengers,LOL This is all BS and I don't see it operating for long, can't stand the test of time period!!!
Don't forget I'm not getting in a robot car with puke in it from previous rider😁
A guy uploaded a video of his car just going in circles in a parking lot i will never get in one im scared of a malfunction
Not in New Orleans. Too many potholes.
Not going to ride in that, no way!
I hope they don’t jump self driving suburbans or escalades

They only care about the money.

Uber and lyft lowering driver pay to invest in this garbage so they wont pay human drivers
I would love to see these driverless cars navigate when there is a lot of snow on the ground or in heavy rain..
Time to get the cones out to place on the hoods.😁
Nope

What could go wrong?
What will human drivers do then??

Great Article read. Thanks for the update. What can a full time driver like myself here in the mid-atlantic do about this?
Would you fly in a pilotless jet. No. Case closed

In Miami and Atlanta 😢get off the sinking ship.
Bring it on, I can't wait.
I wonder how many would be flipped over like a turtle.
Don’t fly too close to the sun.
