Here's the problem with government-funded ANYTHING. 20x the cost, 25% as effective. And the money never goes down to the bottom tier of worker, so "we" don't really see any change. Hire 100 forensic accountants and audit (punitively) all Crown Corps and not-for profits that do work for the government. You'll see the shell game very quickly. "The business of politics" is very, very lucrative and has nothing to do with the people.
